Bird crazy 5 and 6..

IMG_0706 (Medium)IMG_0710 (Medium)Here are the last two Bird crazy cards for now. I have made some more since making these – I can’t help it – I love the humour. The top one was done with lots of stamping and masking to get the group scene, and coloured lightly with distress inks and a paintbrush, and the bottom one was made just for me feeling sorry for myself at the time when I couldn’t do anything before my knee operation. It cheered me up (and I have since stuck a banner saying thinking of you over my play on words in the top corner). This one is a little different because I made the background, something I have done a lot of lately because I love getting out my stencils, inks, blending sponges, stipple brushes, stamps and just mixing colours together to see what works . One good thing  – I have had a lot of time in the craft room to just try things, going to miss that when I go back to work!Til tomorrow..

Crazy Birds 3 and 4

IMG_0704 (Medium)IMG_0705 (Medium)Another 2 cards made with Tim Holtz crazy birds stamp sets, and these ones were inspired by my fellow teacher Kasia Leach.I added my own little touches such as the messy painting behind the bird in the bottom card – that was achieved with a stampin up stamp set and some splashes of water. I coloured the birds with distress inks and a paintbrush, they were stamped onto watercolour paper, and the card bases are stampin up cardstock.Another hot day here, but I have finally moved almost permanently into the craft room, so a sign I am feeling much better! Til tomorrow…..

Bird crazy stamp sets..1 and 2..

IMG_0707 (Medium)IMG_0709 (Medium)Stampers anonymous along with Tim holtz have released a set of stamps that totally appealed to my sense of quirkiness. There are a few different stamp sets in the collection, and I have Bird Crazy,Crazy talk and Crazy things. The birds set have 6 different birds, and the things have lots of accessories for the birds, such as the glasses, birthday hat, balloons and presents in these two cards. These are the first couple of cards I made, and after these two I really let my imagination go as you will see over the next couple of days! now the nitty gritty – the images were stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks and a wet paintbrush, then fussy cut out and stuck on white stampin up cardstock, before being mounted on my card bases ( also stampin up cardstock.) The pine cone in the top corner of the christmas card is a stampin up stamp.Yesterday was so hot here, 40C and today is going to be the same. When it’s this hot there is nothing much we can do except sit under the cooling duct – I will get a bit of reading done today!Til tomorrow….

stampin up christmas cards

IMG_7256 (Medium)IMG_7258 (Medium)Here are my last Christmas cards for this year,(I think) and all the products used are stampin up from their Christmas catalogue – so,woodland embossing folder, peaceful pines stamp set, perfect pines die set, and the father Christmas image is from the home for Christmas designer paper. I always wonder what to do with myself in the craft room after I have finished my Christmas cards – it takes me a little while to settle back into the rythym – maybe that’s just me or do other ladies feel that ? Today I went and saw my knee specialist, and thought I would be able to go back to work next week, but he said no, not for two more weeks, so I will be returning the week of Christmas. It was a big job he had to fix – split cartlidge, and needs a bit longer to heal. Thats OK – I get to spend a little bit of time in the craft room before I go back! til tomorrow….

Stampin up christmas, and pinterest inspiration

IMG_7252 (Medium)IMG_7253 (Medium)IMG_7254 (Medium)All of these cards have two things in common – they all use Stampin up supplies from the christmas catalogue and they were all inspired from pinterest ( you will find the originals on my pinterest board)From the top products used – Home for christmas designer paper ( and some fussy cutting involved) embossing folder – I think it’s called softly falling, cardstock, wonderland stamp set, glitter card and gold trim.I love all of these designs and couldn’t have improved on them at all!Til tomorrow….

My Minds eye fancy That 5 and 6 wedding…

IMG_7235 (Medium)IMG_7236 (Medium)Here are the last two cards i made with My Minds eye Fancy that ( for now anyway!)My favourite is the bottom one, the paper is foiled, and I fussy cut some bunting and a gold heart, and added some of that beautiful gold twine and sequins . I have managed to spend a bit more time in the craft room, before I have to stop and elevate my leg, so I am feeling much happier! til tomorrow….

My Minds eye fancy that 4 wedding..

IMG_7233 (Medium)Today we are back to My Minds Eye Fancy That collection, this wedding card also using the matching journalling cards. I fussy cut the heart and arrow out of cards I didn’t want to use.The rest is just layering, and I used a corner punch from stampin up to cut the fancy corners.Today is a very muggy humid day here in Adelaide, and I have made plans to meet a friend for lunch – my first outing since my knee op, I am looking forward to getting out and about!Til tomorrow…

Embedded embossing….

IMG_0683 (Medium)I have stopped the wedding cards just for today, because Nathan has uploaded a new youtube video for me , so I thought I would show this card explaining what my video is all about. I fussy cut a few images out of some patterned paper ( it’s kaisercraft sail away) , stuck them randomly on some plain white cardstock and then ran the card through an embossing folder. When it has been run through the big shot/cuttlebug etc… it looks like the paper is printed onto the card – you can’t see any raised bits..(hope that makes sense). After some experimenting I found that embossing folders that are pretty well covered in design work best.back to wedding cards tomorrow!  til tomorrow….

My minds eye fancy that number 3…wedding..

IMG_7231 (Medium)This one is a favourite because I got to use so much lace ! I wrapped it around the dress image I had fussy cut from a piece of the patterned paper ( my minds eye fancy that),and also fussy cut the mans suit as well. I am back in the craft room, just for short visits, but it’s amazing how much better I feel when i have been in there! til tomorrow…..

My minds eye ..Fancy That ..2..

IMG_7232 (Medium)My second wedding card made with my Minds eye fancy that. Lots of lace, and gold thread here, and the heart is fussy cut from one of the journalling cards. I always look at the journalling cards first, and if there are any that won’t make a suitable card topper they get fussy cut up into pieces I will use. Nothing is wasted with the journalling cards!Til tomorrow…..
