Tim Holtz Crazy Birds ( 7,8)

IMG_7582 (Medium)IMG_7583 (Medium)It’s Bird Crazy time !I stamped the bird images onto watercolour paper and coloured with distrss inks, and then fussy cut out. The main reason I wanted to show these cards ( and the two following tomorrow) was for the backgrounds. I taped my watercolour card onto my craft mat with some low tack tape – I used washi tape and this step was done to give the white border around the card. I coloured the whole piece with a light shade of distress ink and sponge, and then stenciled through with darker inks using a variety of stencils. If you don’t have stencils you can use the negative  waste from your die cuts, which I have been known to do! For the bottom card I die cut some letters for the Be Cool. When your inked background is finished remove the washi tape, ( Slowly so the card doesnt rip). Til tomorow….

Kaisercraft Little one, card in a box

IMG_7590 (Medium)These two cards are the reason I had this paper ( kaisercraft Little one) out on my desk the other day. I fussy cut the elephants and owls out of some of the 12 x 12 papers in the collection, and made my boxes ( video coming I promise – they are so simple you will be amazed!) and fixed the fussy cutting onto strips of acetate.they wobble about nicely!I have since had to make more owls cards because the three I initially made have gone – I sent one to my Auntie in Perth and it handled the post perfectly and was only the cost of a normal stamp! Much cooler day here and after the week of humidity we have had it is so welcome. Looking forward to a weekend of playing with my new stampin up supplies! til tomorrow…..

younger boy cards

IMG_6505 (Medium)IMG_6507 (Medium)Younger boy cards today, the top card is made with some October Afternoon paper which was forgotten  in a drawer, and although it doesn’t show in the photos I have fussy cut a couple of the ducks to pop on top with foam pads for a bit of a 3d feel. The bottom card was also made with some paper found in the same drawer, and I can’t tell you the brand name as the identity strip had been cut off! This paper had little cute animals printed over it so I die cut a couple of them out with my spellbinders circles die, and I punched some scallop edges out of plain cardstock with my stampin up borders punch.Off to work now…til tomorrow….

Nathan and I also spent some time photoing a lot of cards ready for this blog, so although no crafting today, lots of necessary sorting out has been done!Til tomorrow….

lots of animals….

IMG_2995 (Medium)IMG_2999 (Medium)While I was on my quick break a few weeks ago, we stopped in a small town for afternoon tea, and found a scrapbooking store to visit – as you do.. and I bought a couple of sheets of paper made by a company I hadn’t come across – Hobby Fun Co.,Ltd. One sheet was full of animal images, and the other sheet had borders, and bits for fussy cutting. I made 10 cards with these two pieces of paper, and here are 4 of them. For the bottom two cards I used some Stampin Up paper for the background layers, and I fussy cut Balloons and paper hats out of the same stampin up paper. For the top two, I punched a picket fence with a martha stewart border punch, and used kaisercraft papers for the backgrounds. No crafting tonight because i must get all my paperwork in order for the the tax man next week…. Til tomorrow….

Bo Bunny – The Avenues….

IMG_3012 (Medium)this one had me stumped- I had to go through all my paper collections to find the name! I have only done a couple of cards with it so that’s why it didn’t come to mind… anyway it is Bo Bunny The Avenues, and the bits and pieces on the card front are from the matching noteworthy collection. I distressed all the edges, and I have left it out on my table to do some more with it this evening. I have been working on xmas most of the day so will welcome a little break tonight! Til tomorrow….
