Embedded embossing….

IMG_0683 (Medium)I have stopped the wedding cards just for today, because Nathan has uploaded a new youtube video for me , so I thought I would show this card explaining what my video is all about. I fussy cut a few images out of some patterned paper ( it’s kaisercraft sail away) , stuck them randomly on some plain white cardstock and then ran the card through an embossing folder. When it has been run through the big shot/cuttlebug etc… it looks like the paper is printed onto the card – you can’t see any raised bits..(hope that makes sense). After some experimenting I found that embossing folders that are pretty well covered in design work best.back to wedding cards tomorrow!  til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft My Cherie number 3…

IMG_2901 (Medium)Kaisercraft my Cherie 12 x 12 papers. This was the final card in the class I taught,so just a couple of the 12 x 12 papers, ribbon and A kaisercraft die – border. I did buy this whole range , and one day i will sit down and use it! until then we will return to christmas cards tomorrow! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft my Cherie 2..

IMG_2900 (Medium)This is the second card we made in last weeks class using My Cherie paper collection from Kaisercraft. All three cards ( third one tomorrow) were made using 3 sheets from the collection and the ladies went home with lots of left over product to make more cards at home! The happy Birthday die is from spellbinders and we added a ribbon bow to this one.Still confined to bed, so today I moved some of my craft room ( or got Nathan to I should say) onto my bed and spent the morning doing some watercolouring. Also doing a bit of reading, but boy, it’s going to be a long week. Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft my Cherie 1…

IMG_2898 (Medium)A break from christmas so that i can show you one of the cards we did last week in my lesson. the paper collection is Kaisercraft My cherie, and we used the 12 x 12 papers. one of the papers has butterfly images all over it – brilliant for fussy cutting! We also used some ribbon, and a kaisercraft lace border die. Well. work lasted 3 hours yesterday before my left knee gave way, and I am now confined to bed waiting for an MRI on saturday. My Dr was great and got me into a specialist straight away, but even the specialist couldn’t pull any strings to get the mri done any faster, so now its a waiting game to have that done and see what he can do to get me back on my feet. meanwhile I am confined to bed rest, reliant on the males of the household for everything and working my way through the pile of unread books by my bed! Til tomorrow….

IMG_2870 (Medium)IMG_2872 (Medium)IMG_2873 (Medium)Kaisercraft silver Bells collection – 6″ pad and matching collectables. There were some bits and pieces in this collection which made lovely female birthday cards , made a change from christmas!!here are three of my non christmas cards .Lots of ribbon and lace and teamed with grey cardstock, because I do love pink and grey!   We are going to take a break from the silver bells collection, although I have so many more to show I think I will put them all up in one post later on down the track, because I have been busy with other collections  as well, and it will be Easter before we get through them all!! Today I have been busy making more christmas cards for an order I received last night for 50 xmas cards. it’s all done now, and honestly I feel like packing up the xmas bits and pieces and moving on, but Mum tells me it’s too early to do that.I think I have done 300 cards this year already. Tomorrow I will work on some mens cards I think just for something completely different and on Monday I am sitting in on a class to learn some new techniques..so excited to be the student.. can’t wait! til tomorrow….

Authentique devoted 21st card

IMG_2950 (Medium)Anoher card made from Authentique devoted patterned paper, this time it was for my sons girlfriends 21st birthday. The cardstock is from stampin up, and I added a row of lace and pleated ribbon, and a bow at the bottom of the card, and a key at the top. We have a wedding today, in the botanic gardens which should be lovely as its a perfect day here, and then off to the town hall for the reception. Looking forward to the day, I must go and prepare myself! til tomorrow…..

kaisercraft botanica tri shutter cards

IMG_2874 (Medium)IMG_2875 (Medium)A little break from Christmas today. I have been practising making these tri shutter cards.I find them a little fiddley, still working on a simpler way to do them, but I like the effect so I will perservere. All paper is from the kaisercraft botanica 6″ pad, and I used a couple of the matching collectables and  prima flowers and ribbon.I also inked all around my edges with tea dye distress ink to define the papers.the happy birthday die cut is a spellbinders die, but i see kaisercraft have brought out a happy birthday die this month, so i will have to investigate because I love the way they cut. Til tomorrow….

same as yesterday…different colour!

IMG_5108 (Medium)Cheating today, its been a very busy weekend, and I can’t beleive it’s back to work tomorrow! so todays card is the same as yeaterdays, but just a different colour. All dies as listed on yesterdays post, and for me..it’s off to bed!til tomorrow….

Brand new cuttlebug/bigshot card

IMG_5104 (Medium)I came up with this card at short notice for a lesson.I used pearlescent cardstock ( for the card base) and pearlescent paper in the same shade of pink for all the embossing and die cutting. punches used – martha stewart lacy border, leaf, and branch , and the flower die is a new release from kaisercraft. I added flat backed pearls in the centre of the flowers. This card was actually so simple, but looks really effective in real life with the shimmery card and paper. A gorgeous day here in adelaide, so we are all off to a bbq lunch in the park..must dig out my sunscreen and hat, at 29degrees celsius our winter skin may get a little burnt! til tomorrow….
