Kaisercraft betsys Couture number 1

IMG_0874 (Medium)Recently I bought some of kaisercraft’s recent release – Betsys Couture. I knew once I started with this paper it would be hard to stop, so we have quite a few here in the queue! Before I started I die cut a few Ornate frames ( Kaisercraft die) so that I wouldn’t have to interrupt the creative process by bobbing up and down to the big shot.I used one on this card, wrapped the inner oval with lace and stuck on a websters pages cameo – I have a little box on my table full of these little odds and ends from other projects, and often use bits from it on projects. The papers were from the 6″ pad,as was the lady who I fussy cut out of the paper. sponged around all the edges with tea dye ink, flowers, punched leaves and ribbon to finish. My back is almost better today, and I am sure it will be perfect for work tomorrow! At lats i am able to sit, although not for to long, but long enough for me to relax in the craft room for a little while this afternoon. Til tomorrow…..

Graphic 45 french Country number 6

IMG_8539 (Medium)I made this card for a friend who loves sunflowers. A sunflower card…. the first paper I thought of was Graphic 45 french country. I did a lot of fussy cutting for this one, and layered the flowers up, added a border strip and ribbon, and mounted it all on stampin up marina mist cardstock.all plans have gone out of the window this weekend as my back has let me down and I am reaquainting myself with my hot water bottle. It has improved a bit today so hopefully tomorrow I will be up and about a bit more

The top card has a journalling card , and both cards have matching chipboard pieces, lace, ribbon, flowers and bling.Well, the kitchen is empty ready for the new installation tomorrow, and I have found a flaw in my planning! How do I cook tea tonight with everything packed away in boxes? Tonight people, its pizzas for tea! til tomorrow….

Prima tea thyme 14,15 and 16

IMG_5753 (Medium)IMG_5754 (Medium)IMG_5755 (Medium)Three more cards today made with Prima Tea Thyme paper collection, and matching stickers and chipboard. On all these cards I have also used bling, lace, ribbon, and flowers, or a mixture of these embellishments. One more post with this paper and then we will move onto something else. A busy weekend with not much crafting, although I did get my classes for April done. This week I have my new kitchen being installed, so its been a busy time getting ready for that, and I had a primary school class reunion yesterday, so lots of time spent catching up with old friends I hadn’t seen for over 40 years! Hopefully next weekend will be a little quieter! Til tomorrow….

Prima Tea thyme 12 and 13

IMG_5751 (Medium)IMG_5752 (Medium)early post today as I may not get back on here today… very busy…..Prima tea Thyme collection – the top card also uses the matching stickers, and some pearls, ribbon and lace. the bottom card uses all that, plus some chipboard which I stamped on with staz-on ink and a stampin up sentiment stamp.Staz on ink is the best for these shiny chipboard pieces because it doesnt smudge.Til tomorrow…..

Prima Tea Thyme number 10 and 11

IMG_5749 (Medium)IMG_5750 (Medium)So, the very first collection of papers I took out to sort through was Prima tea Thyme. I didn’t get very far in the sorting out, but got streets ahead in the card making, and none of this paper made it into the discard pile! The top card had so much embellishing including…ribbon, lace, punched butterflies, rhinestones, kindyglitz, letter stickers, chipboard, and a flower. The bottom card escaped most of my over the top embellishing and just had a journalling card from the same collection, punched butterflies, ribbon ,lace and rhinestones.A few more to show in this collections but we will do them over the next day or two in groups of two or three. this morning I taught a class over at Paper Flourish, and as usual enjoyed my time spent with my ladies, who are much more like friends than students! Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up Lotus Blossom stamp set

IMG_8560 (Medium)IMG_8561 (Medium)This stamp set from Stampin Up is a three step stamp set which means you stamp the flowers up in layers, laying the solid stamp down first in the lightest colour, and then the second stamp which has more petal detail second and the last layer which is really just highlighting in the darkest colour. The top card , which was inspired by a card I pinned to my pinterest board, uses all stampin up products including ribbon and patterned paper. The bottom cards have some cardstock punched with my martha stewart doily border punch. Nearly time to go to work, so til tomorrow……

Stampin Up Guy Greetings stamp set number 2…

IMG_8557 (Medium)IMG_8553 (Medium)As promised, the bottom card shows what I did with the extra hat and mustache I die cut with Sizzix top hats and Mustaches die set. So simple – only added googly eyes and a stamped banner greeting. the patterned paper was on my table,( not sure what company )and the cardstock was stampin up early espresso. For the top card I took inspiration from pinterest -when I buy a new stamp set I always have a look to see what other people are doing with it, and the first card made is usually a variation on one of these ideas, to get me into the swing of working with the stamp set. I find after the first card the ideas come naturally thick and fast! so, inspired by pinterest, but with a few different elements. I added some twine, stamped in early espresso ink ( stampin Up) and the cardstock is also stampin up – early espresso, sahara sand, and ivory confetti ( sadly the last one is retired, so no longer available). No craft room today – We are off out looking for new floor coverings… til tomorrow….

Stampin Up guy greetings stamp set

IMG_8554 (Medium)I recently bought a stamp set from stampin Up called guy greetings. I haven’t had nearly enough time to play with it as much as I want to, but have managed to make a few cards using it which I will show you all over the next day or two. It’s brilliant for mens cards, and I made this one for My younger son Daniel who will be graduating from University in a couple of months. The cardstock I used was also from Stampin Up – Early espresso, soft suede and very vanilla.I inked around all the edges for a bit of definition, and the hat is die cut from a sizzix die – Top hats and Mustaches ( tomorrow I will show you what i did with the Mustache!)I added a little frim around the hat for a bit of texture.A card is just not finished without texture!Hot,hot hot here today, so although I really feel the need for some relaxation in the craft room after a hard first week back at work, the day may be spent under the air-con duct reading a good book! til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft xo 4 and 5

IMG_8518 (Medium)IMG_8519 (Medium)These are the last two cards I made with Kaisercraft Xo papers. I have put it away for now as what with this collection and the previous simple stories series of cards I have enough wedding, engagement and anniversary cards to last me quite some time.Thinking of that very thing I made the top card a birthday card and punched a border, die cut a doily and added some collectables, ribbon and pearls. the bottom card was the card I gave my husband for Valentines day.The strip across the middle was fussy cut from some of the paper, and by luck I have a border punch ( by EK Success) which punches a very similar border which I added punched out of white cardstock.I just added a heart collectable and small ribbon bow to finish.Til tomorrow….
