Art Deco style, number 2

IMG_3591 (Medium)I have a couple of cards left to show using my Do Crafts papermania Art Deco pack, so thought I would show them before I start on the cards that we photo’d this morning.I made good use of layering on this card, using cardstock from stampin up – wisteria wonder. It just matched perfectly with her gorgeous dress! The trim was also a lucky find in the back of my ribbon drawer, and it is from Websters pages. I just added a couple of flowers, and this simple card was done!Spent a lovely afternoon today with a group of card making friends, all sitting around doing our own thing and chatting – very relaxing! Til tomorrow….

Basic Grey serenade number 5

IMG_3597 (Medium)Super quick post tonight as I am teaching a class very shortly. This is the second to last card in my Basic Grey Serenade series, and tomorrows card is a special one.. 6′ pad, a sticker from the matching sheet, and some ribbon and bling, all mounted on a kraft cardstock base. Til tomorrow…..

Basic Grey Serenade number 4

IMG_3596 (Medium)Basic grey serenade 6″pad and sticker sheet – hard to beleive this is the same collection as the few cards previously posted, and i think this one is my favourite. I used a sticker from the matching sticker sheet, and the pleated netting and bling is from websters pages. I just added satin and organza cream ribbon and a couple of flowers to finish. I haven’t been in the craft room in the evenings this week, as I have started new hours at work – early starts, and longer days, so a little tired, but the good news is that I have 3 1/2 days off a week, so much more time for crafting on the weekends! Til tomorrow…

Basic Grey Serenade #3 and musings on styles…..

IMG_3595 (Medium)Today is number 3 in my Basic grey Serenade series – the 6″ pad and I have cut my leftover scraps into banners, stamped a butterfly, coloured it and mounted onto a canvas circle, added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones and a huge floppy double seam binding bow! I have been in the craft room today making my favourite syle – Vintage, and it got me to thinking – What are my 3 favourite styles, and how do I define them? I thought I would share my thoughts  so here goes – Number 1 favourite style – vintage – my definition – soft subtle colours, with lots of ribbon and lace. Number 2 – Shabby Chic – same as vintage but with the addition of inking, ripping and distressing ( took me a while to master the ripping – I couldn’t bring myself to do it at first, but nothing stops me now!)and 3rd favourite style – Homespun which is totally different to vintage and shabby chic as it involves bold bright primary colours, buttons, bakers twine ,ric rac,and simplistic images and possibly some paper piercing and sewing as well. What are your favourite syles, and how do you define them? I would love to hear from you all…. Til tomorrow….

Basic grey serenade number 2

IMG_3594 (Medium)A mens card today! Basic Grey serenade 6″ pad, stampin Up cardstock, perfectly penned stamp( for the sentiment) and Stampin Up by the seashore stamp set for the shells. I stamped one image on cream cardstock, and the other on patterned paper. I like stamping on patterned paper, and it worked well in this case. I have spent today setting up a class for the retirement village, I might head into the craft room now for a short while, but I think tonight is going to be a lazy one in front of the T.V. Til tomorrow….

Basic Grey Serenade number 1

IMG_3593 (Medium)This collection of paper is Basic grey Serenade, and I have used the 6″ pad on all the cards I made with this collection. I ran with the Bee theme, and used some of the papers that resembled bee hives, and cut them into strips , and the die cut flower is from a packet that is part of this collection. I stamped another bee to add to the flower, and punched a couple of leaves with my Martha Stewart frond punch.I inked all the edges with Stampin Up so saffron ink, and that is the cardstock used as well!Tea is ready, so i have to run – Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft secret Admirer number 10

IMG_1192 (Medium)This card came about at the end of a productive card making session, when I had lots of strips left on the desk, and so I turned then into long banners, and added a collectable from the matching kaisercraft secret admirer range across the top. the papers are all from the 6″ pad, and I added some gorgeous kaisercraft flowers,  a punched butterfly, bling strip and pearls to finish.Still have more cards in this series to show you, but I think tomorrow we will take a break and move onto something else for a few days.I have had a lovely day off work, and spent a few hours in the craft room. I have lots of ideas buzzing around, and can’t wait to get back in there to create some more! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft secrat admirer number 9

IMG_1188 (Medium)I am sorry I have been a bit of an erratic blogger this week, but we have had terrible trouble with our internet provider. hopefully its all sorted now, and here we are with todays post! Still using Kaisercraft Secret admirer collection, and I made a banner to go across the top, tied with pretty white bows. I used kaisercraft bling strips as flower stems, and some kaiser craft resin flowers – I love these! The cardstock is stampin Up melon Mambo. I have been busy in the craft room this week putting together a 20 card order, but that’s done now, and I am going to find my graphic 45 songbird collection and make some cards with that, I barely touched it when I first got it, so can’t wait to really get stuck into that! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Secret Admirer number 6

IMG_1190 (Medium)I had a lovely morning with a large group of ladies in my class today, and we were using Kaisercraft Secret Admirer patterned paper, so I thought this afternoon we would revisit this collection, as I still have quite a few cards to show in my files. This one uses the 12 x12 paper, and the matching collectables.I punched a border strip using a martha stewart lace doily punch out of some lovely pink kaisercard, and blinged it up with kaisercraft rhinestones and sparklets. the sentiment is stamped using a stamp from Stampin Up perfectly penned set. This afternoon I have been creating with some basic grey paper, a short break to cook some dinner, and I will be back in the craft room to finish what i have started! Til tomorrow….

DoCrafts Art Deco number 1

IMG_1161 (Medium)I bought An A4 Ultimate Die – cut and paper pack called Art Deco by Do Crafts,, and this is the first card I made using it. I have a couple more waiting to be photograghed, which hopefully will happen this weekend, but I wanted to share this one. The pack is chock a block with everything you need to create, and for this card I just added some plain cardstock layering and some bling which was perfect for this style. I am now on the hunt for some feathers. I think they would work perfectly with this collection.I’ve been checking out my galah, but he is the wrong colour! Til tomorrow….
