Not a card today! A short while ago it was Mums birthday, and as she is crazy for roosters I made this plaque to put in with her present. The base is a large block of wood – my sister is swapping all her wood mounted stamps over to unmounted for ease of storage and she will then use them with acrylic blocks, she has a lot of stamps and I asked her to give me all the wood off cuts as I can think of lots of things to do with them – anyway this is where the wood came from – it once was the base for a large background stamp. I painted it with Viva metallic gold paint around the edges, and the rest with Vintage photo distress paint ( great stuff) and then covered it with images I had fussy cut from Graphic 45 French Country papers. I haven’t made a card with this paper yet but hopefully will get time this weekend to pull it out and have a play! I added a chipboard piece in the corner.Til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 a place in time number 9
here is the last of my A place in time series using Graphic 45 papers.Sonething new tomorrow. I matted the small images using bazil and kaisercard cardstock, and added a seam binding ribbbon binding bow. I have turned this one into a mothers day card, but on reflection it would make a lovely girls card – not sure what I was thinking there! The card base is Stampin Up baja breeze cardstock, which my sister tells me is being discontinued so I have stocked up on it as it is one of my favourite colours for card bases.Seems to match a lot of the papers I have in my craft room, and I am sorry to see it go.Looking forward to spending a couple of hours in the craft room tonight after a truly hectic week1 Til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 a place in time 8
I have been on a bit of a hunt through my photo files looking for the card ( well two actually) that I made for a 40th retro birthday order that I had, and it appears that I haven’t got photos of them although Nathan and I are both sure that we took them. I still have one of the cards so the next time the camera is out we will take a photo so that I can post it! So to todays card – This is Graphic 45 paper – the images are from a Place In Time, and the background is from an older graphic 45 collection – the good thing about Graphic 45 paper is that most of the collections do have pieces that will match with other collections. The bigger image is matted on Kaisercard, and I found some trim in my ribbon drawer that matches perfectly with the blue and orange tones.Taught a class last night, and this morning – lovely ladies, and had a great time. This afternoon was a little nap time to catch up on lost sleep, and now I am ready for the weekend! Til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 secret garden number 5
This id the last in my Graphic 45 secret garden series for now, and i had fun with this one! A couple of dies used – spellbinders nested tea cups for the vase, and Poppystamps madison window die. a punch for a bit of greenery in the vase, and 3 kaisercraft flowers to fill the vase. I backed the window with some acetate, and used secret garden papers for the little girls image and the wallpaper background. Once made I couldn’t decide what ocxcasion it would be best used for and nearly kept it in my private collection (!) but thought maybe it would be suitable as a Mothers day card – we will see, if I still have it after Mothers day I will add it to my growing collection of cards I like too much to sell. Til tomorrow….
secret garden number 4
Anoher simple design, using the Secret Garden papers from Graphic 45. I fussy cut some paper to run down the right hand side of the card, and added some ribbon to hide the join.Another hot day here – it’s starting to get boring now….. so once again very little time spent in the craft room today, til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 secret garden number 3
Graphic 45 secret garden patterned paper, and the image on this panel of paper doesn’t need anything else but a strip of lace! The cardstock is stampin up baja breeze. very quick and easy! the weather is still conspiring against me, as well as hot it is now humid and there is so much moisture in the air my cardstock is warping so again no visits to the craft room, although I did manage to make a few this morning before it really heated up- ready for a change of weather now…. til tomorrow…
graphic 45 secret garden number 2
Graphic 45 secret garden patterned papers, layered a couple of times, and just a little lace and a handmade flower made with the same patterned paper using spellbinders bitty blossoms die. Quick post today, as I am heading into the craft room for the first time all week, and have many ideas to get down on paper! Til tomorrow….
graphic 45 Secret garden number 1
I only bought this range of papers ( Graphic 45 secret garden) the other day, but I couldn’t wait to start creating with it. it is by far my favourite range of papers at the moment! This first card is very simple, just one piece of patterned paper onto my card base, a little fussy cutting of another sheet and some lace, stampin up trim , a flower and some leaves punched from martha stewart frond punch to finish.Still hot here, I taught a very small class this morning, and we had some issues with the glue drying too quickly ( thats never happened before) so once again, there will probably be no crafting tonight – I am a bit over this hot weather! Til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 Birdsong number 5
I have classed this card as a graphic 45 card, as the images that I fussy cut were from graphic 45 Birdsong papers, but the background paper that I used is actually a piece from my Bo Bunny Serenity 6″ pad. These two paper collections compliment each other perfectly. It’s very rare that I cross over like this – in fact I don’t think I have ever done it before. The only other thing on this card is some Cherry Blossom that I die cut using Spellbinders Cherry Blossom die. I hope all my Adelaide friends are surviving this terrible heat – I taught a class this afternoon over at the retirement village ( I will show the cards we made tomorrow) , and it was so very hot out there!I have had Nathan look at my blog to fix the leave a comment problem – and hopefully its fixed now – Above the photo is a speech bubble next to Leave a Comment. Click on this, enter your comment in the box, then under the box fill in the E-mail address requirement, and your name. The website bit is optional – don’t worry about filling this in, Then hit the Post comment button. I would appreciate it if someone could try it out for me to see if he has fixed the issue! Til tomorrow…
Graphic 45 Birdsong number 4
Still on Graphic 45 Birdsong paper series, and for this one I used one piece of paper to cover the card front, and I distressed and inked the second piece. I fussy cut elements from further matching pieces of paper, and made a paper rose, and added a brass leaf from Tim Holtz collection to finish.I had a lovely morning with a group of ladies in my card class, and i am on holidays now for 2 weeks, so looking forward to the break and lots of crafting! It has also been brought to my attention that many of you are having trouble commenting on my blog, so hopefully this weekend Nathan will have time to have a look for the problem – I will let you all know when the problem has been rectified, meanwhile if there is anything you wish to contact me about, you can e- mail me at helen@helenscarddesigns.com Til tomorrow….
