sail away 11, and kaszazz lighthouse/pelican stamps..

IMG_0686 (Medium)I am calling this post sail away but really the only thing on here from the kaisercraft sail away collection is the background paper, which I inked a little bit more to enhance the green at the bottom. The rest is Kaszazz stamps which I stamped onto white cardstock, coloured with copic markers, fussy cut out and stuck onto the card front. The gull i stamped directly onto the card front. I do like creating these little scenes! This morning I have packed away all my christmas craft supplies, and i have quite a bit left to get me started next year, which is good because the christmas ranges always come into store too late for me!Til tomorrow….

Bird crazy 5 and 6..

IMG_0706 (Medium)IMG_0710 (Medium)Here are the last two Bird crazy cards for now. I have made some more since making these – I can’t help it – I love the humour. The top one was done with lots of stamping and masking to get the group scene, and coloured lightly with distress inks and a paintbrush, and the bottom one was made just for me feeling sorry for myself at the time when I couldn’t do anything before my knee operation. It cheered me up (and I have since stuck a banner saying thinking of you over my play on words in the top corner). This one is a little different because I made the background, something I have done a lot of lately because I love getting out my stencils, inks, blending sponges, stipple brushes, stamps and just mixing colours together to see what works . One good thing  – I have had a lot of time in the craft room to just try things, going to miss that when I go back to work!Til tomorrow..

Crazy Birds 3 and 4

IMG_0704 (Medium)IMG_0705 (Medium)Another 2 cards made with Tim Holtz crazy birds stamp sets, and these ones were inspired by my fellow teacher Kasia Leach.I added my own little touches such as the messy painting behind the bird in the bottom card – that was achieved with a stampin up stamp set and some splashes of water. I coloured the birds with distress inks and a paintbrush, they were stamped onto watercolour paper, and the card bases are stampin up cardstock.Another hot day here, but I have finally moved almost permanently into the craft room, so a sign I am feeling much better! Til tomorrow…..

stampin up christmas cards

IMG_7256 (Medium)IMG_7258 (Medium)Here are my last Christmas cards for this year,(I think) and all the products used are stampin up from their Christmas catalogue – so,woodland embossing folder, peaceful pines stamp set, perfect pines die set, and the father Christmas image is from the home for Christmas designer paper. I always wonder what to do with myself in the craft room after I have finished my Christmas cards – it takes me a little while to settle back into the rythym – maybe that’s just me or do other ladies feel that ? Today I went and saw my knee specialist, and thought I would be able to go back to work next week, but he said no, not for two more weeks, so I will be returning the week of Christmas. It was a big job he had to fix – split cartlidge, and needs a bit longer to heal. Thats OK – I get to spend a little bit of time in the craft room before I go back! til tomorrow….

Stampin up christmas, and pinterest inspiration

IMG_7252 (Medium)IMG_7253 (Medium)IMG_7254 (Medium)All of these cards have two things in common – they all use Stampin up supplies from the christmas catalogue and they were all inspired from pinterest ( you will find the originals on my pinterest board)From the top products used – Home for christmas designer paper ( and some fussy cutting involved) embossing folder – I think it’s called softly falling, cardstock, wonderland stamp set, glitter card and gold trim.I love all of these designs and couldn’t have improved on them at all!Til tomorrow….

christmas satmping,colouring and die cutting

IMG_2846 (Medium)IMG_2847 (Medium)A break from pretty patterned papers, and a couple of cards made using different techniques. The top card is a base made from stampin up cardstock ( mossy meadow) and a new kaisercraft christmas tree die which i die cut from glitter cardstock. I decorated the tree with small baubles fussy cut from a piece of stampin up home for christmas designer paper. The second card is coloured with copics, and the stamp is one from C.C.Designs called candle light. a ribbon bow and sentiment stamped with a stampin up curly cute stamp and that one was done! what a busy weekend, but off now to the craft room for an hour or two to relax a little bit! til tomorrow….

stampin Up home for christmas, punches, and dies

IMG_2943 (Medium)The last few posts all have the designer paper in common, Stampin Up Home for Christmas, and this is the last one in this series for now.I have really enjoyed working with this paper as all the sheets were different from each other, with lots of fussy cutting potential, but all matched seamlessly. For todays card I fussy cut a poinsetta, and punched a couple of borders with my martha stewart border punch. I layered some paper, edged with ribbon, and die cut merry christmas with a kaisercraft die. A little cream bow finished. So quick, and easy to make quite a few at a time with this design. Taught another class today, this time over at the retirement village. The ladies are all christmas carded out so today we made some pretty female birthday cards.i am looking forward to spending alittle time in the craft room this evening, i have got some gorgeous vintage prima chrismas paper so I will be surrounded with ink, lace and ribbon. Can’t wait! til tomorrow….

using scraps for christmas…

IMG_2945 (Medium)IMG_2946 (Medium)After I had made a few of the previous card ( with the window die-cut)  I was left with lots of little white square off cuts, and never one to miss an opportunity i came up with these two cards to use them up. I fussy cut lots of little images from the Stampin Up home for Christmas paper, and arranged them on the squares. Some I left flat and some I mounted with 3d foam pads. A really easy way to use up the scraps! Great class today, we did gate fold cards using the gorgeous kaisercraft silver bells paper, and all the ladies enjoyed themselves, always a good thing! Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up home for christmas continued…

IMG_2947 (Medium)I thought we would continue on with this series ( stampin Up home for Christmas designer paper) for the next day or two, the papers in this range are all so different you would never guess all these cards were made with the same collection. Todays card uses some of the paper as the “wall”, and I put a piece behind the die cut ( memory box die) window. The tree , presents and holly were fussy cut from more sheets from this collection. The cat was stamped from a stamp set from stampin up called festive fireplace and coloured and cut out. I have been making more cards from this collection toady, because I haven’t even scratched the creative surface with this one, but it’s back to work tomorrow, got to love a long weekend though!Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up Home for Christmas designer paper..

IMG_2887 (Medium)IMG_2890 (Medium)A short break from the kaisercraft silver bells paper, and today  a couple of cards I made with Stampin Up designer paper Home for Christmas, and the stampin up woodland embossing folder. The top card is the simpler version, for the bottom card i stepped it up a little.wheres the paper you say? I cut these gorgeous little deers from the paper and created a little scene by adding some punched greenery and stamping and fussy cutting the little bird.To step it up a little on the bottom card I inked some of the raised embossing, and ripped up up some white cardstock which I stuck glitter toand then raised the pieces with some 3d foam pads on the lower portion of the card. I really enjoyed making these ones, my favourites by far this year! A lazy day today, prepared some lessons for november, and this afternoon I have been experimenting with my perfect pearls powder, adding some water to it and colouring ,it makes the most lovely shimmery paint and now I am off to put my finished painted pieces onto cards.Til tomorrow…..
