Stampin Up Sweet Briar rose

IMG_4963 (Medium)In between playing with paper I like to do  a bit of stamping and colouring. The stamp I used on these cards is from stampin Up – Sweet Briar rose. I coloured it with Prisma colour pencils, and kept the rest of the cards white. I used a few different dies – spellbinders Opulent ovals, magnolia flourish and Memory box Kaliadescope butterfly. Added a few white pearls to the butterflies, and layered it all on a piece of cardstock embossed with cuttlebug swiss dots folder.Til tomorrow…

Lovely as a Tree christmas ..

IMG_3205 (Medium)IMG_3206 (Medium)IMG_3207 (Medium)Three cards today, all made with stampin up cardstock, and stampin stamp set called Lovely as a Tree. These cards were experiments, to see how I could use normal stamp sets for christmas makes. The top card used some kaisercraft patterned paper from the Yuletide collection, and I stamped the tree, dotted it with glue and added some Flower soft to it, for a bit of texture. For the second card I inked through a negative piece of cardstock which I had die cut an oval, then with the negative piece of cardstock still in place I stamped the row of trees, removed the mask and then stamped the single tree. The third card was embossed along the bottom, ribbon wrapped around it,and tree stamped and dotted with some kindyglitz.I am off the the craft room now to make a start on my december lessons. I have some great paper for teen boys cards and some beach themed cards and lots of ideas running around my head, so let the creating begin! til tomorrow….

Today has been another good day in the craft room with quite a few more christmas cards made. Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up festival of trees stamp set

IMG_8573 (Medium)IMG_8574 (Medium)Every year I try to limit myself to one christmas stamp set, and one christmas die set, mainly because there is such a small window of opportunity to use them, and over the years the christmas stash mounts up and I do use previous years buys in new and different ways as I learn more techniques. This years stamp set buy was this one from Stampin Up. Called festival of trees, in the set is a variety of tree designs, as well as the bird shown here and a few other co-ordinating stamps. I also bought the punch that co-ordinates with this set , its a tree punch which has lots of possibilities besides punching out the stamped trees.the two cards I have shown here are the first two I did with this set, for  a lesson over at the retirement village. The papers I used were in a paper pad that I purchased last year from Stampin Up.today has been the most enjoyable day in the craft room. I laid out my Time to Celebrate papers from graphic 45 and have created so many cards! All different too – little girl type cards, cards for older girls(!), wedding/bridal shower cards, baby cards, and I am heading back in there now to do some anniversary cards before packing up and doing a few more christmas cards! til tomorrow….

Stampin Up wonderous wreath

IMG_8572 (Medium)Todays card was made with mostly stampin up products, the only exception being the Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder. The wreath is from the wonderous wreath stamp set, and then I used the matching dies to die cut it out, and  the “Noel” ( from glitter cardstock), was also die cut from the same set. This is a great set to use when making a lot o xmas cards all at once! Til tomorrow…..

papaya collage stampin up stamp set

IMG_8575 (Medium)Every now and again my ink pads call to me, and I stamp my heart out! This happened the other day with this stamp set from stampin Up. It’s called Papaya Collage, and all the stamped elements on this card ( except the sentiment and script in the background ) came from this set.I layered up a couple of pieces of cardstock, and stamped and fussy cut until I was happy with the result.I added a dove charm, ribbon bow and pearls to finish. Today has been another stamping day – christmas this time -and next week when I am on holidays Nathan and I will do some photoing.Til tomorrow….

stampin up wonderous wreath and fabscraps

IMG_8487 (Medium)IMG_8488 (Medium)The top card is made with Fabscraps patterned paper, and lace and ribbon, the second card uses a piece of the fabscraps paper as the background and I used stampin Up Wonderous wreath stamps, and matching framelits dies. The stamps are interesting – you can layer up the colours with different stamps, and then die cut the wreath with the matching die.The word Noel is also from the framelits die set and it comes with the word Joy as well. A handy set to have for christmas makes!I added some ribbon and lace to this one as well.I borrowed this set from my sister, but will probably invest in it myself as it is such a handy die set to have.Next time something other than christmas! til tomorrow….

Embossing folders

IMG_8489 (Medium) IMG_8490 (Medium)These cards came about because I wanted to use the new stampin up cardstock – blackberry bliss and lost lagoon on a card together as I liked the way the colours worked. I also had some very slim embossing folders, probably meant to be used as borders, but here I cut thin white card strips and embossed a different pattern on each one. embellishing with ribon, flowers and buttons followed. I liked the look so much I tried the same sketch but with a christmas theme.Curly Cute stampin up greeting stamps finished all cards . Quick post today as I must get off to work.. til tomorrow…..

3 cards with stampin up Flashback designer paper

IMG_5490 (Medium)IMG_5491 (Medium)IMG_5494 (Medium)The one thing these cards have in common is the designer paper – Stampin Up Flashback.for the first one I followed the pattern and cut my paper in half, stamping the greeting in between the two pieces, ( stampin up Sassy salutions greeting stamp) and addind a splodge of colour with red ink and Stampin up gorgeous grunge. The second one makes good use of my stampin up Honeycomb hello stamp set,and I cut some banners from the paper. the third card was an experiment using up the bits of paper leftover from the other two cards, punched hexagons, stuck them on the cardstock and ran it through the big shot with my stampin up hexagon embossing folder. Today is my new day off, so have done the weekly shop and I am off to have a well needed hair cut! Til tomorrow….
