Christmas cards using last years scraps part 3

IMG_5499 (Medium)Tonights idea combines the previous two posts using strips and squares , with lots of layering and use of foam squares to give different heights on the the card. A ribbon bow , button threaded with linen thread and the red rhinestones add visual interest and cunningly form a triangle which draws the eye around the card!Til tomorrow….

Christmas cards with leftover bits part 2

IMG_5501 (Medium)Another idea for those strips of leftover bits is to cut ( or punch) them into squares and layer them with foam pads ( I use three different thicknesses – .5 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm) onto your card.add  a ribbon bow and button for a homespun feel and to add the the patchwork effect. The greeting on the right hand card was made with a scalloped collectable which had a message on it which I didn’t want to use ( sometimes those messages are more for scrapbooking than card making ) and layered another circle – this time from the paper pad – on top. Christmas cards using last years leftovers…

IMG_5498 (Medium)I gathered all my Kaisercraft christmas papers from christmas’s past.. ( these included Turtle dove, december 25th,Dear Santa, Tis the Season and twig and Berry) and combined them all. Every one who knows me will tell you this was very hard for me as I always keep my collections separate, and never mix and match!I still won’t mix paper companies. It was not too bad, as most of the collections had very similar colours. Anyway, once that was done I went through the paper pads, and fussy cut, and took out border and labels die cuts that I hadn’t used previously and put these in a separate pile. Next I combined all the collectables into one container, and after all that it was very hard to tell the different collections anyway.First I worked on the wider strips that are left behind when I had covered the original cards and the two cards above are the result of that. I added a collectable to both, some words fussy cut from a nother piece of paper, and some craftworks candii in the top corner of the card on the right.More strip makes tomorrow…. Til tomorrow….

stampin up Winter Frost….

IMG_2817 (Medium)More christmas cards made with Stampin Up Winter Frost designer paper. The card on the left uses a stampin up reindeer punch, while on the right I have used the mosaic punch again, but this time punched three, and folded them in half then stuck them together to give that 3d look. I also used  my martha stewart lace doily punch, and stampin up ribbons and cardstock. Today I have finished an order, made my sons birthday card and now I am back to a few more christmas cards, but I have an idea for a scrapbook layout buzzing around my head so i am going to do that before it drives me nuts! Til tomorrow…

Stampin Up christmas 2013

IMG_2816 (Medium)An early post today – These cards were made with primarily Stampin Up products. I have searched everywhere for my catalogue so that I could tell you the name of the designer paper, but to no avail, so will find out from my sister and edit this post at a later date to give you that info.* One of my followers – Kay has let me know that the stampin up designer paper is called Winter Frost.Lovely set of papers in this collection!Thank You kay. The cardstock is also stampin up, and I used the stampin up mosaic punch to punch out my bauble shapes.I punched them out of glitter cardstock. The colours I used here make a nice change from green and red for christmas don’t you think?Til tomorrow….

Definitely the last of Holly Bright

IMG_2815 (Medium)This is the last of my holly Bright paper collection. I have made an amazing amount of cards with this paper, but it’s time to move on! I used the 6″ pad for these two cards, and some Kraft and stampin up cardstock. I also used some of the collectables, and the greetings were from a 12 x 12 sheet.Ribbon and bling added the finishing touches.today has been all about housework, but i am about to head into the craft room to do some creating! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Holly Bright 12 and 13

IMG_2814 (Medium)A bit of everything from the Holly Bright collection on these two cards – the background papers are from the 6″ pad, the greetings from the sheet of 12 x12 paper, and some collectables thrown in. I added some xmas type flowers and ribbon and bling to finish. The cardstock is from stampin up.Today i have been making bright summery cards, when I should be having a last push at the christmas cards, but christmas still seems a bit far away to me for some reason this year – I think it’s because I still have a couple of birthdays before then and I can’t think seriously about christmas until they are past….til tomorrow….

kaisercraft holly bright number 11

IMG_2813 (Medium)Number 11 in my Kaisercraft Holly bright paper series, and here I have used the 12 x 12 papers. the bird is from the collectables, and I just added a little ribbon bow and some kindyglitz to finish. So glad the working week is over for me – I have struggled this week with this coughy coldy thing, and hopefully a couple of days at home will knock it on the head once and for all! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Holly Bright 9 and 10

IMG_2811 (Medium)Todays cards were made with Kaisercraft Holly Bright papers. I made these ones with the idea that you could enclose a gift voucher in them, so the front layer is peeled back and I used my Memory Keepers envelope maker to make a small envelope – I used the smallest size on the board for this.the greetings were cut out from a sheet of matching paper – this sheet is brilliant – it has 36 greeting on it so great value. The cards didn’t need any more in the way of decoration so I just added a little bling.

graphic 45 12 days of christmas number 10

IMG_9383 (Medium)Here it is, the last in my graphic 45 12 days of christmas series. I think I have combined everything on this one – layering, fussy cutting, lace and chipboard pieces.I have loved using this paper, still have some left, but today I have been working on more christmas cards using up my kaisercraft paper. I must concentrate on using up some older papers, as I have run out of room to buy more so there may be some posts where we revisit some old favourites! Til tomorrow….
