I am back after a little break when I enjoyed a lovely cruise, and taught many lovely ladies in a series of craft classes. Now I am madly chasing my tail catching up on so many things that need to be done before Christmas day, but it was all worth it! Todays cards are from a set I made with Kaisercraft ladylike collection – the 6″ pad and just one sheet of the 12 a 12 from the same colection ( the one with the roses all over it with lots of fussy cutting opportunities!) I trimmed the front of the top card down so that you can see some of the inside and decorated that as well, as you can see from the second photo. I added bead trim and lace to that one and one of my homemade resin birds. The other two cards are very simple and just rely on the papers, and a little layering. Next time we will move along to something different…til then…..
I made a card with not a bit of patterned paper which is very rare for me! I die cut a large rectangle out of the front of my card, and most of the decorating happened on the card i stuck inside the card. I die cut a tree, and punched a few extra branches in a different colour ( which I also added to the ground around the bench). The bench is a stampin up stamp which I heat embossed in gold. I added a cute little ladybug to the bench. and die cut the Thinking of you words. Well the man is still up on the roof stomping about up there, he has had to stop and start as the rain has been affecting his working but we never complain about rain so he just works around it! I have a late start for work today, but i must go and get organised…til tomorrow…..
I am sorry I have been missing all week, but it has been horrendously hot here this week, and all any of us can do is find the coolest spot and just stay there! They tell us we have had a cool change, but it is 35C today, and that is still hot in my book!Anyway enough of that and on to today’s cards…These ones are made with papers from the My Minds Eye In Bloom collection, 12 x 12 papers, and /or the 6′ paper pad from the same collection. The papers are so gorgeous the cards really didn’t need any more embellishments. I loved this collection so much I actually framed one of the 12 x 12 pieces and hung it in my hallway! Heat or not today i amd definitely going into the craft room for some craft time!Til tomorrow…..
Todays card is in a similar simple style to yesterdays card, With an embossed layer ( kaisercraft Frame embossing folder) and a fussy cut flower arrangement from a piece of Kaisercraft Golden Grove 12 x 12 sheet. The Thinking of You sentiment is from the 6″ pad of the same collection. Only a couple more card to go in this collection before we move on to something new… Today I am off to the retirement village to catch up with my ladies and show them a card or two. In the meantime I have a big pot of vegetable soup simmering on the stove for tea, and for now I will head off to the half tidy craft room to get my bag ready for this afternoon.. til tomorrow….
Todays kaisercraft Golden Grove card is a very very simple one. When i do Thinking of you or Sympathy cards i like to keep them quite clean and simple and for this one I used a kaisercraft frame embossing folder, fussy cut a flower from the specialty sheet of Golden Grove, and the sentiment was from the sticker sheet of the same range. I did ink around the edge of it with Tea Dye distress ink so that it didn’t blend right in to the background layer, and popped it on with foam pads for a bit of height. I am working tonight as I have a class to teach, so this morning I have been grocery shopping, but now I am going to conserve my energy and sit and sort my flowers into colour coded bags..bliss….Til tomorrow…..
As you all know , I purchased a Go Press and Foil machine and have been practising with it. The upshot is I have a lot of foiled bits and pieces waiting to be made into cards! I sat down the other day and made a few, this is the first one…Stampin Up cardstock ( watermelon wonder I believe) for the card base, and the Go Press and foils stamps for the ornate embossed background and the sentiment. some ribbon, a hand coiled flower ( also on my desk waiting for a project) some die cut greenery and flowers from Iamroses website. i have a few hours to myself today, so i am heading into the craft room with no plan..just going to see where the inspiration takes me! Til tomorrow….
It appears we are back to some Kaisercraft Ooh La La makes!I drew out a tea cup template and cut it out of some of the patterned paper from the 6″ pad,and decorated with orange ric-rac,ribbon, Green Tara flowers lace and a collectable butterfly from the matching set.The sentiment was from the 6″ pad, and I mounted it on some blue cardstock. Things are back to normal here, all unpacking and washing done, caught up with Mum and Dad, inspected the garden, and today I am looking forward to sitting in the craft room after nearly 2 weeks away from it! Til tomorrow….
I love the simplicity of this one! Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane 6″ pad and the 12 x 12 pull apart sheet from the same collection. That’s it ( except a ribbon bow and some inking around the edges).Even the shaped bracket and the sentiment came from the 6″ pad.Quick post today, as I am off to put my feet up for a minute after a busy day at work, and then think about what to cook for tea! Til tomorrow….
The cards today are still in my Kaisercraft cottage rose series, this time a thinking of you card, and a birthday card.I kept the thinking of you card very simple, with just a punched butterfly and ribbon bow. the papers on both cards are from the 6″ pad in the collection, and the sentiments are also from the pad.For the birthday card I added some lace and ribbon, liquid pearls and another punched butterfly using my Tim holtz butterfly punch. I have done a marathon grocery shop today, I am working full time hours next week for stocktake, so I am planning to cook a lot of meals on the weekend to save some time during the week! In the meantime, if I miss a couple of posts next week you will all know why! til tomorrow…
Here are the last two cards made with Kaisercraft my cherie, for the meantime anyway! These ones are thank you cards – I have made a huge range of cards with different sentiments with this collection, so it’s a great one for all round cards. The top card has a mix of 6′ pad papers and 12 x 12 papers, and the bottom card uses just the 6″ pad.I found some flowers in the bottom of a drawer, wound some silver thread in the back ground and finished off with a big bow and fussy cut butterfly. My roast is in the oven, my shopping list written out for this week, and now I am going to round up Nathan and his camera and take some photos of my latest makes ready to post!I must take this opportunity to welcome all my new followers, thank you for joining us, feel free to comment and join in crafty conversations! Til tomorrow….
