Her is number 3 in my sketch series using scraps. The top card is everyday enchantment designer series paper by Stampin Up as is the cardstock – Pool party. I used my tim Holtz sizzix tattered floral die and cut some pages from an old misprinted book, a scalloped edge punch and a pearl brad. The strips were cut 2 cms wide, I varied the length just a little and cut a V into the bottom of them. The second card follows the sketch exactly, and I used American crafts Neapolitan paper, stampin Up crumbcake cardstock for the base and some Bazzil for the mat. This is a favourite sketch and I can imagine it done with some vintage paper and lots of lace instead of the scalloped edge….. Til tomorrow….

sketch series for using scraps number 2

Foe number 2 I had a rectangle of patterned paper which I cut into 2 cm strips, and cut each one 1 cm shorter than the one before it, and then cut the v’s into the ends to make banners. I punched some circles, and decorated a strip with an edge punch. I wrapped a ribbon around the whole lot and added a bow. The paper on the first card is Stampin Up everyday enchantment as is the ribbon which I dyed to match my paper. The second card, using American Crafts Neapolitan follows the sketch closely, but I substituted lace for ribbon and added a punched butterfly and some kindyglitz. The cardstock is Stampin Up Peach Parfait. Sketch series for using scraps number 1

Over the next week I will be posting a series which I have called Sketches for using scraps. I have thought hard about how to present this series as there are quite a few card ideas in it, but Nathan convinced me that doing it this way was best – we will see. The top card is the ” experimental” card, and for all those in the series I used just two sheets of 12 x 12 paper , 9 cards in all, which is great value when watching your purse! The 2 sheets are from Stampin Up designer series – Everyday Enchantment, and I love this paper. The second card is a copy of the basic design of the first sketch card and for these cards I used 4 sheets of American Crafts Neapolitan collection. I still have a lot of this paper left and will make more with it at a later stage. It too is great paper, the handy hint for all the sketches I have done is make sure you purchase a stripe pattern, floral pattern, and a quite plain pattern. With the stampin up paper I found all these just on two sheets, and I have also done some of these cards as a lesson and managed to do the same with some Kaisercraft paper so it easy to do, and total value for money! The litttle flower on the top card was punched out of old book pages with a punch and a little perfect pearls in the centre. for the second card I added two brads and the cardstock used for the card base was Stampin Up certainly Celery.Til tomorrow…..
Fresh Vintage
Today I am showing a card that I made using my Stampin Up supplies. The designer paper is stampin Up everyday enchantment ( absolutely gorgeous, and is on my craft desk as we speak, as I am by no means finished with this paper, and my lovely sister has just given me some more) and the stamp sets – petite pairs for the sentiment and Fresh vintage for the stamped image which I coloured with prima chalk ink pads. I just added a little ribbon and lace to finish. Nathan and I did fit in time today to do some photo -ing, but I haven’t sorted through them all yet, but we might have new stuff tomorrow… Til tomorrow….
Sweet Nothings 7 male card…
I buy a lot of very pretty feminine paper, so my goal is always to try and make one male card with them, but the Kaisercraft sweet nothings range nearly defeated me, it is so soft and feminine. I am cheating a little calling this a sweet nothings card, but I did use the images from the collectables pack that co – ordinates with this range. The background paper is a scrap of Prima paper, and I used a prima stamp around the edge of a hand cut tag. The quote I printed out on my printer.Tonight I am heading into my craft room, and it will be the first time in ages that I have a long session in there – I will hang a do not disturb sign on the door! Til tomorrow…..
We’ll miss ewe….
Here’s a card I made a little while ago using Kaisercraft Cock – a Doodle – Doo paper and the matching collectables. The letters are Prima canvas letters and some letter cut from a previous kaisercraft 6″pad. The cardstock is stampin Up garden Green. A fun morning this morning teaching my Paper Flourish lesson, and i am looking forward to spending an hour or two in the craft room .I have a new Cricut cartridge which I haven’t had a chance to play with yet so I am going to get it out and experiment with it. Til tomorrow…..
Mamadme Boutique 4
This card is continuing on with my kaisercraft madame Boutique series using the 6″ pad and matching collectables. here I have also added a prima flower and leaf, and a little lace. Although I still have a few more to show in this series, We might take a little break tomorrow as nathan has finally got his camera back and we will be doing a big photo shoot tomorrow, and I will have something different to show… looking forward to a couple of hours in the craft room tonight making some mens cards, I’ve neglected them over the last few weeks, what with xmas and all the pretty feminine papers that are around. I got a new nautical themed stamp set and papers from Stampin Up today, and can’t wait to ink those new stamps! Til tomorrow…..
Another Bonjour….
I have had a great creative day… first setting up my January lesson over at paper flourish, and then continuing at home this afternoon as I was on a creative roll.. don’t you love it when ideas come together! I am back on my mission of finishing with some of my paper collections so I am trying not to jump from one to another… so difficult…. Todays card is created from kaisercraft Bonjour collection, including the fussy cut butterflies. The flower is a sizzix die – flower layers no. 9, and the Thanks is also a sizzix die. I just added a Stampin up vintage brad, a strip of bling and some lace. Back to the craft room.. Til tomorrow…
cuttlebug and sizzix dies no.3
I’m calling this a cuttlebug card as I used three different sizzix dies on this one. The thanks, flower and Leaf dies were all used. The paper is Madame Boutique by Kaisercrafft. After saying in my last post that I am finished with xmas cards, I received an order for 25, so its back to xmas for me! Til tomorrow…..
Birdcages and butterflies..
Todays card is such a simple one… The paper is Websters Pages, from the Garden gala range( I think – correct me if I’m wrong) and a picket fence punched with a Martha Stewart punch. A very unfussy card from me today. It is the last day of my holidays, and back to work tomorrow – where did the time go? I have spent today decorating a couple of wooden jewellery boxes that I have had for a while, and I will put them on my market stall on Sunday to see how they go. They were great fun to do, and I will be looking for more of them! Til tomorrow…..
