Something different for a complete change! I thought I would show you a decorative birdcage that I made.I picked up the birdcage for a few dollars , and the bird inside for another few dollars. the rest of the decorations were odd bits and pieces I had in my craft room. I used some cipboard Twiddlybitz for the scrolls and leaves, and the flowers and resin bird are prima products. No project is complete without ribbon, and this lovely wide satin ribbon finished it off nicely! I took it over to show my Dad ,who is quite creative in his own right -(he paints mainly) and he kept it until I made him one of his own in tones of blue and yellow.I loved making this and have bought another birdcage to do another one!Maybe this time in pinks and purples.Today has been a day of completing projects, and now thats done I am ready to start again with a clean slate. til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft Velvet crush number 11
I found another Kaisercraft velvet Crush card that I hadn’t posted! The card ( on the left) makes use of the matching collectables in the range, and some kaisercraft and prima flowers and ribbon. ( the cardstock is stampin up pink pirouette and black) and when I had finished it I realised it wouldn’t fit into an envelope as the flowers were too bulky, so I made a box and decorated it to match. I like making these card boxes, so you may be seeing some more of them… may have to do a youtube video of how to make….I had a great morning over at Paper Flourish this morning, met up with some friends, had an enjoyable card club, and bought some new papers from Prima, Tim Holtz, and heartfelt creations and can’t wait to start making with them. Til tomorrow….
Bo Bunny prairie chic number 5
Here is the last card in my Bo Bunny Prairie Chic series. A piece of the 12 x 12 papers, a tag, flower and string bow. the cardstock is stampin up blushing bride, and it is a stampin up sentiment stamp also. That’s the end of the working week for me, and I am so looking forward to 4 days off. tomorrow I am going to card club, and greatly looking forward to catching up with friends, and picking up some new tim holtz paper pads which I will then spend the rest of the weekend creating with! til tomorrow…..
Bo Bunny Prairie Chic number 4
Super quick post tonight as tea is cooking as we speak! the second to last Bo Bummy prairie Chic card – i have enjoyed working with this paper – love the colours… Marina mist stampin up cardstock, and sentiment stamp, and 3 flowers and a string bow … done!I used two pieces of patterned paper, and a border strip across the centre where the join is.Til tomorrow…..
Bo Bunny Prairie Chic number 3
Still with Bo Bunny Prairie Chic paper collection,I used Stampin Up cardstock and sentiment stamp, and added a kaisercraft flower and some string to finish. An early finish from work today, so spent a little time in the craft room planning out some lessons. I was playing with some new dies from couture creations, and I must say I am most impressed with how they perform through my big shot machine, easy to remove and a good cut first time through the machine.Worth a look! til tomorrow….
Bo Bunny Prairie Chic number 2
Bo bunny Prairie Chic 12 x 12 papers, Stampin Up Blushing Bride cardstock and sentiment stamp, and string and flower.Very little product on this card, but one of my favourites! today, after washing, cooking and housework, I sat down in the craft room,( where I finally unearthed my table)and did some stamping and embossing, just for a change. i have a new sizzix embossing machine – like my big shot, but just embosses, and wanted to try it out. I purchased it because it is a much more compact size than the big shot, more portable, and easier to fit on my table,so I should use my embossing folders much more now that I have a handy gadget close to hand! til tomorrow….
Bo Bunny Prairie Chic number 1
I have had this paper since before christmas, but have only just found time to use it. For this card I used stampin Up Marina mist cardstock, the Bo Bunny Prairie Chic papers ( 12 x 12) and just some string and a flower. Some work needs to be done in the craft room this weekend as I can barely get in the door.Things have not found their way to their allocated space, and it is all a bit of a disaster in there! So not so much cardmaking as spring cleaning happening over the next day or two… Til tomorrow…
Prima doll stamp with velvet crush (10)
I promised myself I wasn’t going to get hooked on the prima doll stamps by Julie Nutting, but.. oh well whats a girl to do? Although I do colour, I much prefer to use these stamps with gorgeous patterned papers, so the only thing I coloured was the hair. the rest has been stamped onto patterned paper and paper pieced together. the paper I used on this one was Kaisercraft Velvet Crush, and for the skin tones i used an old sheet of websters Pages that I had filed away.most paper collections that are released have one sheet that would be suitable for skin tones, so this plan should work for me all the time!the butterflies are from the sticker sheet that was released with velvet crush, and I added a ribbon bow to finish. I taught a very busy class this morning and was grateful to a very dear friend for her help with a lady new to cardmaking, without her help I would have had a class that severely ran over time!I bought a big bag of goodies after class, and can’t wait to sit down tonight after tea and have a good look at what I picked up. Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Telegraph Road number 2
Todays Kaisecraft Telegraph Road card uses a corner of a 12 x12 sheet and the matching collectables. I was going for a collage effect, so layered a few of the collectables on top of easch other. I did some punching with martha stewart punches for the leave and flowers ( leaf and hyacinth punches) and added some gold liquid pearls and kindyglitz to finish. the cardstaock and sentiment stamp are from stampin up. Til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft telegraph road number 1
this months release from kaisercraft is Telegraph road, and I have only had a quick session with these papers so far but thought I would put up what I have done so far. For this card I used the 6″ pad and a couple of the collectables from the pack. I inked all my edges with spun sugar distress ink, and added a ribbon bow and some pearls.quick and easy this one!
