I like the colour combination on this card.I used a white cardstock base, and matted 3 different shades of pink bazzil onto some Stampin Up Crumbcake ( thats kraft ) cardstock, then stamped a floral image 3 times across the bazzil in white ink. I added some lace, twine, stampin up crumbcake seam binding and a button I found in my button tin to finish this one. Just something different for me, but I really like it, and will try this one again in different colours. Thats it for today, til tomorrow….
The Open Sea fathers day
Found this one while browsing through my files – also found some different ideas, which I will show over the next few days- The paper used here is stampin Up designer paper, for the background, and the panel that I have wrapped the bakers twine around is kaisercraft from the Mismatched range. The Boat is a stamp from Stampin Up – The open sea set,and I stamped it in Choc chip ink, and then used an oval spellbinder to cut the shape out. Quick post tonight, as it’s shopping night – no crafting tonight! Til tomorrow….
Fathers day card ideas
As it’s fathers day here in Australia this Sunday, I thought I would post the rest of the Fathers day cards I have in my files this week. Most of these cards card be adapted for Male birthday cards as well. These two cards are very simple, and ideal for the gardening Dad. The papers are Websters Pages Farmers Market, and I used some Stampin Up cardstock which fits perfectly with the colours on the papers.I have had a very productive day in the craft room today, coming up with a lot of new designs for Christmas. I will get nathan busy with the camera this coming weekend, and hopefully able to post them next week. Some of them will probably make it into my classes next month.Still got some ideas buzzing around in my head, so it’s back to the craft room for me – til tomorrow…
chest of drawers card
I designed this card for my paper flourish lesson this month, and it is deceptively simple, all the ladies managed it with ease. This is the one I tried out at home first to make sure the whole idea would work, so I used what I had on hand in my craft room, for my lesson we had different items poking out of the drawers, and instead of the brads I used for the drawer handles we used Craftworks candi. The cardstock used here was Stampin Up pink piroutte and whisper white, and scraps of lace, ribbon and bling used to hang out of the drawers. The interesting bit is how to get the legs – I used a spellbinders labels 17, and positioned it on the folded cardstock so that just the top bit is on the card. When run through the cuttlebug it cuts through both thicknesses of card, and just cuts the top part of the shape which looks like legs on the drawers. I imagine lots of uses for this card – it would be great as a new baby card, and you could do it in blue for a boy.Instead of a top drawer you could stamp cup images etc and put a piece of acrylic over the top to resemble a glass door- a great kitchen tea card… any more ideas? For today, I am still doing a rather large order – almost finished, then onto creating some new ideas for my september and october classes, which of course will be all about christmas. Til tomorrow….
The Last prima songbird ( number 10 and 11)
Well this is it. The last two cards from my Prima Songbird patterned paper series. 11 cards from 4 sheets of paper was pretty good, and I only have little scraps left.I used stampin up sentiment stamps on these two, and trimmed with lace, seam binding, prima flowers, liquid pearls and bling strips. Tomorrow I might check if there are any more Fathers day cards in my files to be shown, for those of you that have left your cards til the last minute!Til tomorrow….
Prima songbird number 9
Here we are Prima songbird papers number 9, I am ready to move on, but we are so close to finished with this series, that we will carry on. Here I have matted the main image onto Stampin up early espresso cardstock, the banner was fussy cut from one of the papers, and I finished it all off with some gorgeous lace and a bit of bling.I am still battling this fluey thing, but did venture into the craft room today as sitting up is better than lying down – too much coughing when I am lying down – and I have made a start on a rather large order that came through yesterday.Til tomorrow….
Prima songbird number 8
I hope you are all still enjoying this series, only a couple more to go!Of course the paper is still prima songbird, and for this one I just did lots of layers, using the 12 x 12 papers, white cardstock, and stampin up early espresso cardstock. I added a prima flower, seam binding, and some bling to finish. Short post today, as I am still not well, and am heading off back to bed.Til tomorrow….
Prima songbird number 7 with cuttlebug
I made good use of my cuttlebug on this card, using the few papers I had of the Prima Songbird collection. I die cut some circles and layered them up, and used my spellbinders labels 17 die to add interest to another layer. I inked all my edges with tim holtz antique linen distress ink, and added lace, seam binding ( dyed with stampin up baja breeze ink) and a prima flower.I also rounded the corners of my card. The sentiment is a stamp from my stampin up field flowers set.I am suffering from a cold today, so I think it will just be a night in front of the heater with some lemon and honey! Til tomorrow…
Prima songbird 5 and 6
Here are 2 cards, same design , just different colourways. Still using my limited supply of Prima songbird paper, and punched a border with an ek success border punch. I added a seam binding ribbon, prima flower and some strips of bling. It’s shopping night tonight, but I am hoping to get into the craft room for a little while as I have an idea for a class card I want to try out – til tomorow…
Prima Songbird number 4
The more I see this paper, the more I like it – tonights card ( using Prima Songbird 12 x 12 sheets) makes use of layering to achieve a different look, and I distressed all my edges and inked them all with a tim holtz antique linen ink pad. a prima flower and leaf and some blingy rhinestones finished the card. Quick post today as I am off to visit the tax man. Hopefully he finds some extra money for me! Til tomorrow….
