Here are my final Prima lavender frost cards for now. These two cards use some of the 12 x 12 papers, and the matching flowers from the range. I also added a couple of die cut swirls and a little chipboard piece that was on my craft desk at the time! Tiny scraps of lace came in handy, as did my little handmade bird on the bottom card. I made the little bird with a mold and some “no more gaps” from the hardware shop! This is not the last you will see of my makes with this paper – we will just take a little break from them for now. I have booked my stall for the craft fair on the June long weekend, and so now a lot of my time will be spent sorting out all my cards ready for sale! Til tomorrow….

Pion Days Gone By…

Todays cards are made with Pion Designs papers, and I have done a different kind of card base…I guess you could call it a triple fold step down?I have used a 12 x 12 cardstock base, and scored it every 10 cm.( the height is 15 cm for the back panel, and stepped down on the other two panels). The front panel is an extra piece of cardstock, and I cut it with a tab which is attached to the front 10 cm panel and that is all hidden with papers. I have shown you two views of the top card so that you can see what I am talking about! I am officially all organised for the Christmas break, I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays and I will see you all after the festivities!
Lemoncraft yuletide continued…
Sorry I have been missing , but we had a computer hiccup here this week, and thank goodness it is fixed now with no loss of files! Today we are continuing on with Lemoncraft yuletide collection, which is perfect for vintage style cards.I did a bit of layering with bits of offcuts on these two, and added a ribbon to the left and a ribbon and a flourish that I made with a silicone mold and gap filler (!) and painted with prima alchemy paint.meanwhile i have finished my January lessons and have a couple of new stamp sets on my desk to play with. I have to make two male birthday cards and one of the stamp sets is perfect for both boys so that will be first on the agenda! Til tomorrow…..
More Vintage Lemoncraft Yuletide..

It is still Lemoncraft yuletide designer paper collection on my blog today, lots of matting, and using little leftover scraps as banners, a bit of fussy cutting and not too much more embellishing required, just bits of gold thread, and ribbon. The bottom card had a doily and a foiled chipboard pinecone as well. Everything is inked with tea Dye distress ink. Today is my craft and chat group so I am off to get some projects sorted although more chat than craft takes place! Til tomorrow….
kaisercraft Oh so lovely 2…
I have had this paper for a while, but I don’t think I had done anything with it until I stumbled upon it in the craft room a couple of weeks ago.. I wonder how many more collections are hiding in there waiting to be stumbled upon? I have started teaching some Shabby Chic classes at work but I am only a beginner myself so I just practised a bit on this card. I distressed all my edges, and then inked with Tea dye distress ink, and up in the left hand corner I used some Nuvo Glitter paste through a stencil just to see how that would work..not badly as it turns out! I added some random flowers in the lower left corner and some of the collectables from the collection to finish. I received all my boarding information today for the cruise I am teaching on next week, craft suitcases are packed, not long now!! til tomorrow…..
another stenciled background..
Todays card is made with pieces of cardstock that I was experimenting with. I took some white cardstock and stenciled through a Kaisercraft stencil with Liquitex iridescent medium. It leaves a lovely pearly pattern on my cardstock. To make the card I just used whatever was on my craft desk which happened to be some Prima bits and pieces and a die cut fence and white ribbon. This morning we went and picked up a new puppy who we have called daisy, and at the moment she is getting to know our other puppy Luna. They will be best mates, I am sure, at the moment they are running around the back yard! Til tomorrow…..
Shabby Chic..Helen style!
Before I start this morning I just want to let my American followers know I am thinking of them all, the ones in the East who are battling with Fire, and the ones down south who are battling with the aftermath of one Hurricane and bracing for more…my thoughts are with you all.
I am determined to master Shabby Chic. I love shabby, but I am struggling to get to the point where I can say I have succeeded, but I will continue to practise, and show you my progress. This card has a lot of product but a lot of it was put together with bits and pieces left on my work table from other projects so i didn’t prepare anything new for this project except for the background layer which was a piece of A4 white cardstock. I painted it with a light watered down layer of Gesso, and used a texture template to add some Liquitex Light modelling paste. When that was dry I tapped some tea dye distress ink over the raised bits and sprayed randomly over the whole piece with Prima Color Bloom Cotton candy spray mist. All that remained for this step was to cut to size, distress all the edges and ink with more tea dye distress ink and attach to the card front. decorating…. a strip of lace under one of the layers, a Prima Bird, a flower made with sizzix bigz 3d flower die and old book pages, memory box Lorelai leaves die, kaisercraft wooden flourish foiled in silver, pearls , Prima hessian leaf, and flowers. Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane 12 and 13…

Yes we are back to Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane and these are two cards that I did for a lesson. The top card has and oval die cut from the front of the card, and the back ( or inner panel) is decorated so that the bird panel ( from a piece of the 12 x 12 paper) shows through the die cut hole. The front panel is decorated with some fussy cut flowers and ribbon. The second card uses the oval we die cut from the first card – no waste here..with a stamped sentiment, some more fussy cutting and another ribbon bow. The backgroung layer was trimmed from a sheet of 12 x 12 paper, making sure I had the bird positioned where I wanted him. Nathan and I have spent this morning photo-ing my recent makes, and now I have to go and put inserts in all of them, a most tediuos job but it has to be done! til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft Ooh La La 15 and 16..

Two cards today, made with kaisercraft Ooh La La, and some white space.I don’t often leave white space on my cards, but I like these and will experiment with more white space cards in the future. There is a mixture of fussy cut images, and collectables on both cards, with a little ribbon, a lace flower and just a couple of flowers.I spent a lovely afternoon in the craft room yesterday, I did miss crafting while I was away. This afternoon I am popping in there to make Mum and Dad a 61st wedding anniversary card and I have been doing a little tidying as I go too.Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 8
Todays Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane card is a side stepper card. I have done a You-tube clip on how to measure and cut/fold this style of card, on the right hand side bar of the blog you will see You-tube…click on that and you will see my you-tube channel with this and many other little clips I have done.Meanwhile for this one I have used… one of the pull apart cards from the 12 x 12 sheet,a couple of the matching collectable, prima and green tara flowers, kaisercraft leaf die,a small piece of a border from the sticker sheet, and a small piece of the dotty paper ( 12 x 12). I also did some fussy cutting for the stepper part of the card. The big news here is that I have left my job at kmart Aust.Yesterday was my last day after 36 years, and my workmates gave me a lovely send off. When I return from the cruise I will be working at Paper Flourish, the store where I have been teaching for 6 1/2 years. I will be surounded with crafty goodness! How will I contain myself? I am so looking forward to this new chapter! Til tomorrow…
