On today’s card I have done a technique called Inlaid Die cutting. First I die cut the anchor ( Kaisercraft die) from the white cardstock, collecting all the little bits that we normally throw away, and die cut it again from blue cardstock. I ran the white cardstock piece through the big shot/cuttlebug using a kaisercraft anchors embossing folder. The last step is to inlay the blue anchor into the white embossed cardstock, and then pop in all those little bits of off cuts – if you look carefully you can see which pieces they are as they don’t have the embossed detail on them. That is the fiddliest part of this technique. To finish the card I wrapped some bakers twine around it and mounted on navy blue card. Too hot here today to do anything but read! Til tomorrow…

sail away 11, and kaszazz lighthouse/pelican stamps..
I am calling this post sail away but really the only thing on here from the kaisercraft sail away collection is the background paper, which I inked a little bit more to enhance the green at the bottom. The rest is Kaszazz stamps which I stamped onto white cardstock, coloured with copic markers, fussy cut out and stuck onto the card front. The gull i stamped directly onto the card front. I do like creating these little scenes! This morning I have packed away all my christmas craft supplies, and i have quite a bit left to get me started next year, which is good because the christmas ranges always come into store too late for me!Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft sail Away 7 and 8…

Today’s kaisercraft sail away cards….The top card has a piece of 12 x 12 paper for the background layer, and a kaisercraft die called bubbles (I think), The circles are from the 6″ pad,and I inked around the edges of them with distress inks ( stormy skies) to define them a little bit. Tyhe bottom card is made with papers from the 6″ pad,and a panel from a piece of 12Â x 12 paper, The chain is a kaisercraft die, and the silver frame is from a kit I bought quite some time ago from stampin up. I did enjoy going through my drawer of old bits and pieces for these cards! A lovely day here in Aqdelaide, sun is shining, not too hot and my roast is in the oven, so all is good here in Helenland! til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft sail away 6
Todays kaisercraft sail away card uses a sheet of paper from the 6″ pad, and I stamped a sea gull stamp ( kaszazz brand) up near the top left hand corner. The sailing ship was already on the paper. The shell in the right hand corner is by prima.I have enjoyed rummaging through all my bits and pieces to find treasures to use on these cards – I didn’t buy the matching collectables for this range – not through choice – they weren’t in the shop when I purchased it! Today I have spent some time in the craft room making all my christmas gift tags, I am just waiting for the delivery of one more gift and shopping is all done, and then the wrapping begins! I am normally not this organised, so there is something to be said for my poor knee! Til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft Sail Away 4 and 5

Kaisercraft sail Away paper collection, this time using the 6″ pad for both these cards, and I think the same dies as I used on the previous cards. On the top card I added a button and bakers twine and on the bottom card I just added some silver twine. The plain cardstock is from stampin Up. I taught a class today using this collection and all the ladies seemed to enjoy it, I think it’s because the colours are lovely and clear – quite often mens papers are muddied and distressed looking, and also it’s nice to move on from christmas cards!Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft sail away 2 and 3..

We are on to a new group of cards today, it’s Kaisercraft sail away collection . i love the clear colours of this collection, and at the same time Kaisercraft released some new dies that fit in perfectly with the paper, so I couldn’t resist them! The top card is made using papers from the 6″ pad, and some wide ribbon, buttons and a metal plaque I have had in my bits and pieces box for a long long time! The second card showcases a couple of the dies. I die cut the light house twice out of red and then white cardstock, and fitted all the red fiddly bits back into the white piece – very fiddly to do and next time I may just back the die cut with contrasting cardstock instead! The anchor is another die, and i used some ric-rac , ribbon, and charm as well. i have a class tomorrow so i am off now to pack up my bag….til tomorrow…..
Crazy Birds 3 and 4

Another 2 cards made with Tim Holtz crazy birds stamp sets, and these ones were inspired by my fellow teacher Kasia Leach.I added my own little touches such as the messy painting behind the bird in the bottom card – that was achieved with a stampin up stamp set and some splashes of water. I coloured the birds with distress inks and a paintbrush, they were stamped onto watercolour paper, and the card bases are stampin up cardstock.Another hot day here, but I have finally moved almost permanently into the craft room, so a sign I am feeling much better! Til tomorrow…..
Bird crazy stamp sets..1 and 2..

Stampers anonymous along with Tim holtz have released a set of stamps that totally appealed to my sense of quirkiness. There are a few different stamp sets in the collection, and I have Bird Crazy,Crazy talk and Crazy things. The birds set have 6 different birds, and the things have lots of accessories for the birds, such as the glasses, birthday hat, balloons and presents in these two cards. These are the first couple of cards I made, and after these two I really let my imagination go as you will see over the next couple of days! now the nitty gritty – the images were stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks and a wet paintbrush, then fussy cut out and stuck on white stampin up cardstock, before being mounted on my card bases ( also stampin up cardstock.) The pine cone in the top corner of the christmas card is a stampin up stamp.Yesterday was so hot here, 40C and today is going to be the same. When it’s this hot there is nothing much we can do except sit under the cooling duct – I will get a bit of reading done today!Til tomorrow….
Embedded embossing….
I have stopped the wedding cards just for today, because Nathan has uploaded a new youtube video for me , so I thought I would show this card explaining what my video is all about. I fussy cut a few images out of some patterned paper ( it’s kaisercraft sail away) , stuck them randomly on some plain white cardstock and then ran the card through an embossing folder. When it has been run through the big shot/cuttlebug etc… it looks like the paper is printed onto the card – you can’t see any raised bits..(hope that makes sense). After some experimenting I found that embossing folders that are pretty well covered in design work best.back to wedding cards tomorrow! til tomorrow….
Authentique Devoted, 3,4, and 5…

Three cards today to finish off my Authentique devoted series which got interrupted due to more pressing christmas cards! I had a bit of fun with these cards and used plenty of lace, ribbon, hessian, bling and even a button. I did go to the specialist yesterday, and found out I have torn a ligament in the back of my knee, so operation on Thursday and after that I may be missing from here for a few days while I recuperate, but until then…til tomorrow…..
