While on my cleaning up journey I stumbled upon a great amount of Kaisercraft Sears and Son papers, and packets of collectables, so of course had to sit and make a few mens cards – so easy with this paper. So easy in fact that there are a huge amount of photos of cards made with this paper collection to show , so I will break into groups over the next few weeks!this paper is still available, and perfect to stock up on for those tricky male cards1All I have used are the aforementioned papers and collectables, and a couple of odd brads I had lying around for these two cards. It is a super early post today, as I am teaching this afternoon ( third class this week!) and when I get home I want to head straight into the craft room as I have a few ideas buzzing around that i want to get down on cardstock! Art deco Style…
I have posted this card at the request from two of my ladies, who are having a card making day soon to make some art deco style cards. Here I have used some images from the Do crafts Papermania Art deco Collection layered onto black cardstock, and added a touch of lace. I think the secret to Art deco is to keep to geometric shapes – no soft curves or frilly bits here! Even the lace I have used is angular.I also think black is a good base for this style of card, and if you don’t have black cardstock for bases, use black for your layers. square, diamonds and triangles are all good for Art Deco style cards.Thank goodnes for the weekend, and cooler weather – i am so looking forward to some quality time in the craft room.. Echo park for the record
Another card made with some old Echo Park papers – For the record, made while I was meant to be clearing out some space for new stuff – this is why my craft room is overflowing – I am too easily distracted! One for the boys….
I spent a day last week going through my paper collection, and as I was tidying, I kept stopping to make cards with the papers i was unearthing, so over the next few days I will show you these – some of the papers may not be available now, but you would be able to get the same result with current papers, the sketch ideas work with most papers. This one was Echo Park For the record paper collection, and I used Stampin Up Hearts a Flurtter dies to die cut the banner across the top. The little letters are kaisercraft mini stickers, and the paper already had “boy” splet out – Handy1 Til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 secret garden number 5
This id the last in my Graphic 45 secret garden series for now, and i had fun with this one! A couple of dies used – spellbinders nested tea cups for the vase, and Poppystamps madison window die. a punch for a bit of greenery in the vase, and 3 kaisercraft flowers to fill the vase. I backed the window with some acetate, and used secret garden papers for the little girls image and the wallpaper background. Once made I couldn’t decide what ocxcasion it would be best used for and nearly kept it in my private collection (!) but thought maybe it would be suitable as a Mothers day card – we will see, if I still have it after Mothers day I will add it to my growing collection of cards I like too much to sell. Til tomorrow….
