Mintay Secret Place 3 and 4….

_MG_0154 (Medium)_MG_0155 (Medium)As promised I am back with the other two Mintay Secret Place cards that I made.  A lot of fussy cutting on these two!. On the top card I added lace, a metal piece cut in half ( the other half is on the lower card and that is a good trick to extend your stash)and the resin frame is one I made . The second card has a little die cut flourish and a couple of layered banner tags cut from tiny scraps tucked under the metal. Seeing these cards again makes me itch to get this paper out again and start creating, but I am busy today putting some card kits together…Til next time..

Mintay Secret place 1 and 2..

_MG_0152 (Medium)_MG_0153 (Medium)Today’s cards are made with a gorgeous paper range by Mintay called Secret Place. I have only made a few cards with this range so far, ( will show two more next time) and they all sold at my recent craft fair. The top card is just layers of the paper, the window is fussy cut and opens up, and I just added a little lace, flowers and greenery. The lower card also has built up layers, and I added a bird I made in my mold, painted it with irridescent medium, the chipboard corners are by Scrapiniec and painted with Prima alchemy paints, and then just a couple of flowers and die cut greenery. We have hyad beautiful weather this week, although it is meant to be the middle of winter so i have spent hours out in the garden, and not many hours at the craft table, but plan to get lots done this week! Til next time….

Stampin Up Back on your Feet..

IMG_1400img_1399_1.jpgimg_1398.jpgI have had great fun this week colouring the stamped images from a stamp set by Stampin Up called back on Your Feet, and then fussy cutting  the images and turning them into cards. The cards on left were coloured with watercolours and the cards on the right were done with Copic colours. The papers were bits and pieces from lots of different companies. I have a box of 6″ pads and I just flipped through these to find what I wanted to use. The die cut shapes were foam mounted on to the card fronts to give a bit of dimension. As well as playing with this stamp set this week I have been preparing some lessons, ready for August when Helens classes will start! Til next time….

Prima Poetic Rose

_MG_0149 (Medium)Todays card is one I made with Prima poetic Rose. I have made more with this paper but they are waiting to be photoed! I had two layers, inked around with Frayed Burlap distress ink, and added some fussy cutting and ephemera on top. there is a little metal piece tucked in behind, and some little leaves die cut in gold foil. The two big flowers are from prima, and the smaller ones are from Iamroses. Lace and greeting to finish. Although I am retired now I still intend to teach cardmaking, so this week has been spent preparing lessons and finding a lesson venue. I am going to check one next week, so it won’t be long before I have an exciting announcement to make! So looking forward to getting back into the classroom! til tomorrow….

More Mintay Birdsong…

_MG_0135 (Medium)_MG_0136 (Medium)_MG_0137 (Medium)_MG_0138 (Medium)Four cards today, made with a couple of pieces of MIntay by Carola Birdsong paper. This is my favourite paper so far this year, and I did these cards for a lesson I taught at paper flourish. Lots of lovely fussy cutting, a little bit of rhinestone bling, and some layering and inking of edges with frayed Burlap distress ink pad. I have not had time to be bored in retirement yet! Last weekend was the three day craft fair, and I sold many cards, caught up with lots of friends and customers, and thoroughly enjoyed myself! the rest of this week has been busy packing away the craft fair things, and I have some new papers from graphic 45 ( Lost in paradise) which I have been fussy cutting..gorgeous papers!Til next time…..

Circle cards..

_MG_0124 (Medium)_MG_0122 (Medium)_MG_0119 (Medium)_MG_0115 (Medium)Todays cards were ones I came up with for a class, using kaisercraft Scrapyard papers. They were all made using circle nesting dies to cut the shapes. They are self explanatory, and I didn’t add anything to them except for some rhinestones and greetings, everything was fussy cut from the papers. Today is set up day for the weekend craft fair, I am so looking forward to catching up with everyone who stops by! It is very cold here in Adelaide just now so I may have to take a knee rug with me..it’s always cold in the basketball courts! Til next time….

Special Age birthday cards

IMG_1389This week I took a break from all things tidying, and preparing for the craft fair to sit down and create. I had the perfect papers ( a small 6″ paper pad from kaisercraft called With Love) and some new numbers dies from Uniquely Creative to make some very special birthday cards. I took this photo, couldn’t wait for Nathan to snap these as I want to take them to the fair with me. Just going back to the paper pad – it’s an unusual one for Kaisercraft as a lot of the papers are foiled and as you can see I didn’t add too much more to the cards..a little lace, ribbon and my numbers all die cut with either foil or glitter card. Til Next time…..

Prima Georgia Blue

_MG_0109 (Medium) I  quick post today, just to let you all know that I am still here! I have had a whirlwind of a couple of weeks, and I have finally retired! I have one more class next week, but essentially as from last weekend I am a lady who lunches! I have had so much fun spending my last two years working in the craft shop, but its time to concentrate on my own crafting. I am looking forward to creating more, and at the moment I am getting prepared for my stall at the local 3 day craft fair in June, and who knows I might be able to get back to more regular posts! On to today’s card… I bought all the Georgia Blue range from Prima, and this is one of the cards I have had time to create with it so far! I guess that will change now! The very bottom layer is actually some vellum that came in the flower packaging, and I have used a 3x 4 journalling card from the same range, along with emphemera, flowers, and a die cut glitter swirl. Til tomorrow…..

Pion Days Gone By..and a couple of ideas…

_MG_0016 (Medium)_MG_0017 (Medium)_MG_0020Todays three cards are actually cards I created for a class a few months ago, but I thought I would post them because I think they show how best to get value out of your stash and purchases. There are only 2 pieces  of 12 x 12 patterned paper here, but the papers had 4  6″ x6″ designs on each so I actually had 8 choices altogether.  Minature doily dies cut in half allowed me to make scalloped borders, and a little bit of scrap ribbon never goes astray! the greetings a are dies from my collection. Some pretty matting colours – again hunt through your scraps ( and remember if a layer is covered with another layer who is going to know if you have die cut something out of the middle of it?) All my greetings could have been die cut out of the lower mats but you will never know! I loved the simplicity of these cards, thoroughly enjoyed working with this paper. Now i am off to work on some June lessons, til tomorrow…..

Watercolouring with Ink..

IMG_1233Last weekend after I had finished preparing all my May classes I had a little time to just create, and so I gathered my distress re-inkers, a pallette, paintbrush and my new stamp set ( Uniquely creative Flawed and fabulous),stamped out some images onto watercolour paper and just started painting. Of course it didn’t stop there . by the time I had coloured them all I knew exactly how these cards were going to go together! All my art work was fussy cut out, matching cardstock was found, and another new die and stamp ( both by stampin Up) were added to the table. The top two cards have the Stampin Up crackle background stamped in brown and I left the bottom card clean. The Stampin Up Trellis die was die cut with white cardstock and then I experimented. The bottom trellis is painted with prima alchemy silver paint, the top right is coloured with Nuvo mousse in rose gold, and the top left is coloured with Nuvo mousse bronze with a top smearing of platinum to lighten a little. The Nuvo mousse is best put on with your fingers! A great afternoon creating and I may even do something similar for a class.Til tomorrow….
