Kaisercraft Cherry Tree lane..revisited..

_MG_1195 (Medium)_MG_1196 (Medium)_MG_1197 (Medium)As regulars to my blog all know, I have been having a huge tidy up of the craft room. I have done my best to stay on task, and I have three tubs of assorted paper collections that have to go. Now and again I have been distracted with some collections that I am ready to give up but just wanted to create with one last time. This is one of those collections that I stopped the work and sat and created with just what was to hand, so quite simple, just a ribbon bow, and a little lace added. The collection is a couple of years old…Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane. the top card is a double z fold card, and I know I have said it before..I am going to film a youtube video on how to do this fold. I have no excuse as we are pretty much confined to home just now, and aren”t we lucky that we are crafters and have lots of projects to keep us busy!Til next time, stay safe…..

Last of the Kaisercraft Ladylike…for now…

_MG_1189 (Medium)_MG_1191 (Medium)These are the last two kaisercraft Ladylike cards I have made. I have a little paper left which will be used in the fullness of time but I have used all the matching collectables etc.. The top card makes used of some fussy cut elements and I die cut an oval from an old book. It’s time for make do and craft…nothing is safe when I can’t spend money on craft stuff as we don’t know what is still ahead of us! There is a pretty metal butterfly added to that one, while the bottom card is the last of the collectables from the Ladylike collection, and I added some flowers and a foil die cut leaf. I have done a lot of crafting this week and I am so glad to have this hobby that allows me to retreat into a very special crafting space. Stay safe, til next time,

More Kaisercraft ladylike…

_MG_1182 (Medium)_MG_1188 (Medium)I made a few cards for my craft fair boxes, as that will be here before we know it and I need to focus! The 21st card features the kaisercraft ladylike patterned paper from the 6″ pad, and some gorgeous flowers, soft lace,a metal on top of the key, and numbers die cut from a Uniquely creative die. The second card is all paper, a little die cutting of the leaves and a bird punched from a stampin up bird punch. Again the paper is from the 6″ pad. Finally the spring cleaning of the craft room is done, just some moving of furniture to happen, but my two muscle men have gone for a week to Sydney to visit their son/brother so that will have to wait…Meanwhile the week stretches before me without them, but lots of crafting! Til next time….

Mens Cards..

_MG_1175 (Medium)_MG_1176 (Medium)_MG_1178 (Medium)There comes a time in every cardmakers calender when they have to do mens cards and mine was this week when it was time to book my June craft fair spot. Mens cards are always last on the list! This year I had some new dies to use so made it a lot easier, and I had my very old stamps which are dug out every year, stamped and coloured and teamed up with newer purchases to refresh the look. I kept the general layout very plain cos blokes really don’t like fussy! Next Saturday I have our first crafty girls gathering of the year so I have been very busy organising that and I am so looking forward to catching up with all the girls. Til next time….

A technique…

IMG_2114IMG_2117I was busy yesterday preparing a project and found I didn’t have the correct shade of carsdstock I needed to look like the rivets on a jeans pocket, so I thought I would make my own! I used Prima Metallique acrylic paints on some white cardstock and it worked a treat! The Brass hardware paint was the right fit for my project, but have lots of these little pots of goodness so I will be doing this more often for my projects that require a more bespoke colour for little die cut bits. Why buy more cardstock when I can make my own? In other unrelated news our pear tree has once again been prolific and today is pear stewing day..I will be found in the kitchen up to my elbows in all thing pear !

A Boys Card..

_MG_1174 (Medium) A quick boys card today with some dies that I sourced, cut in a few different colours of stampin up cardstock and googly eyes added. The papers are old bits that I stumbled on while sorting out stash , which led to the making of this card…see how I get distracted? As you can guess the great destash continues….will it ever end? Til next time…

Uniquely Creative Urban Garden 3, 4 and 5….

_MG_1153 (Medium)_MG_1156 (Medium)_MG_1158 (Medium) Today’s cards are thre more I made using Uniquely Creative Urban garden paper collection. There is a multitude of opportunities for fussy cutting with this collection and i took full advantage! I did a little layering with stampin up cardstock, and on the bottom card added a ribbon bow, some lace and a clear cabishon in the centre of the big flower. The die I used is a Uniquely Creative Stitching rectangle die, and I hand cross stitched the greetings on each card with some embroidery thread I had in my sewing box. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting sewing these as I watched tv, and will do that more often! The big clean up continues, in between organising our crafting get together and planning something big to share in a couple of months! Til next time…

Uniquely Creative Urban garden 1 and 2..

_MG_1190 (Medium)_MG_1193 (Medium)I have thoroughly enjoyed creating with this paper collection from Uniquely Creative called Urban Garden because it is gorgeous and right up my alley with lots of fussy cutting but also because a good friend of mine designed it! She is an amazing artist and that shows through all the beautiful designs in the collection. I used a uniquely creative die on the top card called stitching rectangle frame die, and I used it more in the next three cards which I will post next time.I added little clear cabishons in the middle of the flowers, did some fussy cutting and that was it for that one. The second card is lots of layering with some Stampin Up cardstock and patterned paper. IMG_2085 (2)

Yesterday I spent an enjoyable afternoon playing with my new Uniqolour water markers. They are also by Uniquely Creative, are really easy to use and I now have some images ready to turn into cards today! Til next time…..

More Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe..

_MG_1110 (Medium)_MG_1113 (Medium)Two more pretty cards made with graphic 45 Floral shoppe, and the journalling cards that were brought out with this collection. I have done a little fussy cutting, some raising of elements with foam tape, and added lace, ribbon and flowers. This week has been a horrendously hot and humid week, no-one had energy for anything, so not a lot done in the way of crafting. The humidity gets into the paper and everything feels damp! This week is promising to be a little cooler so normal activities can resume!Til next time…..

Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe..

_MG_1107 (Medium)_MG_1109 (Medium)Todays two cards are made with Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe.. lots of fussy cutting and a few pretty flowers .. so easy to work with these pretty papers. This week is still the ongoing job of cleaning out the craft room, I have found the rythmn now… a couple of hours of sorting out papers and a reward of an hour of crafting with found goodies! In between of course I am spending a little time coming up with new classes for my village ladies. Til next time….
