On the previous post I explained how I made the background paper, and I used an A4 piece of cardstock. This actually gave me enough shabby cardstock to make a second card. For this one I foiled a chipboard birdcage, layered a piece of lace under one of the layers, inked around everything with distress tea dye ink, and then just layered up the flowers, gauze ( from the chemist) die cut leaves ( memory box loralai leaf branch) and ribbon bows. The weather here has been lovely…we even saw some sunshine for a brief time but it has turned cold again today, so this afternoon I am s5taying put in the lounge room, sorting out my dies into a more manageable system of storage and ability to find! Before I start this morning I just want to let my American followers know I am thinking of them all, the ones in the East who are battling with Fire, and the ones down south who are battling with the aftermath of one Hurricane and bracing for more…my thoughts are with you all.
Here are the final two Kaisercraft Christmas Jewel cards, done in a double z-fold design. Both cards make use of the 6″ pad for the layering and the matching collectables for the embellishing. These were truly qucik and easy cards to make! i finished work at lunch time today, and I saw the sun peeking through so I grabbed my lunch and went and sat out in the garden for a little while and it was lovely! the sun has gone back in and so I have I, now I am going to head to the craft room for a couple of hours end of week relaxing! two Double Z fold cards today made with Kaisercraft christmas Jewel, papers and collectables.I am doing a lot of this design this year because these will be the ones I send out to family and friends. Todays top card uses papers from the 6″ pad, a punched reindeer, a strip from the sticker sheet and a Kaisercraft wooden flourish foiled with the go press and foil machine. The lower card also uses papers from the 6″ pad, sticker sheet and a couple of the collectables from the matching pack. I ahve been to work and am home again so i think i will spend a little time this afternoon in the craft room, playing with the new kaiser range I picked up the other day, still christmas, but traditional colours this time! til tomorrow…
Another card using the scraps from Kaisercraft Christmas Jewel collection. The music notes are from a little box of kaisercraft wooden flourishes and I silver foiled them with the Go Press and Foil machine. Very quick post this morning as it’s Fathers day here and I am off to see my Dad! Til tomorrow….
I covered my base card with a piece of Kaisercraft Christmas jewel 12 x 12 paper -this particular paper was silver embossed with lots of seasonal words, so didn’t need too much decorating… so I just added a die cut circle ( in gorgeous purple glitter cardstock) a collectable from the pack, and a Kaisercraft wooden flourish which i embossed with mu Go Press and foil machine. The sentiment is from the sticker sheet from the same collection and I mounted it on some white cardstock and popped on the card with foam pads. Today I picked up my new kaisercraft christmas collection called Letters to Santa, and I have spent a lovely afternoon fussy cutting lots of pieces ready for more Christmas cards. Til tomorrow…..
Todays card is interesting because it uses some of the strips of offcuts from papers from the 6″ pad used on other cards. A great way to use up scraps. The decoration is from the kaisercraft christmas Jewel collection, and the greeting is from the sticker sheet and layered onto more scrap paper. I love the colours of this papr collection, and today we got in the september Kaisercraft releases which are both Christmas paper collections and I love the red/green vintage collection so that will be my buy for this month! Kaisercraft Christmas jewel collection..a piece of the 12 x 12 paper, and some collectables make an easy card today! The star in the centre of the Poinsetta is a piece from the kaisercraft chipboard pieces which I foiled. Today was a short day at work, and it is bitterly cold outside, so I am going to have something warm for lunch, and do a little bit of work on the cruise cards…Til tomorrow….
Today is a double Zig Zag fold card, which is really popular just now, and I have fiddled with the measurements so that it fits into a normal C6 envelope. I have taught a couple of classes using this design and it is next on my list to do a youtube video on how to do it when Nathan and I both have a free minute at the same time! Meanwhile I decorated these ones with Kaisercraft Golden Grove papers, and the matching sticker sheet. The kaisercraft sticker sheets that they release with their collections are perfect for this design because the sticker strips are exactly the right size for the slimmer zig zag strip on the front of the card. I have put up 2 cards today because I may not get back here til the end of the week.. working full days most of the week, so I will see you all when I get to the end of the week! …
Todays card is in a similar simple style to yesterdays card, With an embossed layer ( kaisercraft Frame embossing folder) and a fussy cut flower arrangement from a piece of Kaisercraft Golden Grove 12 x 12 sheet. The Thinking of You sentiment is from the 6″ pad of the same collection. Only a couple more card to go in this collection before we move on to something new… Today I am off to the retirement village to catch up with my ladies and show them a card or two. In the meantime I have a big pot of vegetable soup simmering on the stove for tea, and for now I will head off to the half tidy craft room to get my bag ready for this afternoon.. til tomorrow….
