Helens Not So Shabby…

IMG_8097 (Large)IMG_8099 (Large)IMG_8102 (Large)Here are a few cards I taught in my Not So Shabby class at paper Flourish. I call them Not So Shabby because no matter how hard I try my shabby cards still come out looking quite clean! On the top two cards we did some stitching, layering and distressing, while on the bottom card we painted our frame with prima sparks paint and did some embossing. The weather here is so strange, we have had thunder, rain and lightning this morning, but it is 35C so very hot and humid. Not good weather for anything except sitting under the air con vent! We have picked all the cherries ( 15 Kilos this year) and this morning have started picking the apricots and tomatoes so the garden is very productive just now.. Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Full Bloom..

_MG_1808 (Medium)_MG_1809 (Medium)_MG_1759 (Medium)Today I am posting three cards I made for a class using Kaisercraft Full Bloom paper collection. All three cards rely only on the papers, and if memory serves it was only three different papers from the collection. I have the whole range here at home but as yet ( because of Christmas makes) have not done anything with it yet but look forward to in the new year as it is a beautiful range and I have lots of ideas! There is so much happening here just now, working, getting organised for Christmas, putting final touches on my cruise lessons, and trying to get ahead of my lessons , my personal crafting has taken a back seat, but things will get back to normal after February! Til tomorow…..

Stampin Up Tropical Escape…

_MG_1814 (Medium)IMG_8031 (Large)IMG_8033 (Large)I don’t know about you, but I need a break from Christmas card makes and I am ready to move on! We may revisit Christmas in the next couple of weeks but for now I am happy to show you all some cards i amde with Stampin Up designer papers. From memory the collection is called Tropical escape and I fussy cut various creatures, large and small. The top two cards are aperture cards – I die cut a circle out of the front of the card and most of the decorating inside, just making a leafy window to look through. The leafy fronds were all fussy cut from the papers. The sun was die cut from a Uniquely Creative die. Today is Cherry picking day, it is a little bit cooler, and the sun is hiding behind a blanket of clouds so good weather to harvest our crop! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Christmas Wishes 4,5 and 6…

IMG_8054 (Large)IMG_8073 (Large)IMG_8075 (Large)Kaisercraft Christmas Wishes collection pack, collectables and 6″ pad…Not much else required..a bit of bling, a ribbon bow ….thats it! The bottom card has a sentiment which is a Couture Creations hot Foil stamp which I did on my Go press and Foil machine and then die cut with a Seven paper Dolls die. When i have my Hot foil machine out I tend to do a few at once so that I have a bit of a collection to choose from on my desk. I have to say I do love my foil machine! I have been spreading the word about it , running regular classes at paper Flourish showing all the different things you can do with it, and some of the ladies have given me more ideas and uses too which I am looking forward to investigating. In the meantime, today is my craft and chat gathering and looking forward to catching up with my crafty friends for a relaxing afternoon. We may even get some crafting done! Til tomorrow….

As promised the other shabby…

_MG_2994 (Medium)This is the second Shabby Chic card i taught in my recent class. we distressed and inked, and die cut and added lots of lovely flowers! We did also colour our flowers with some distress re inker watered down in a spray bottle and sprayed our butterflies too. If I remember correctly the paper collection is from Kaisercraft called pen and ink.

Another Shabby Chic lesson card..

_MG_2987 (Medium)Todays card is another shabby chic that I taught in a lesson. This was one of my first shabby classes and we were concentrating more on distressing and inking our papers. I love the Shabby chic style but I still have issues ripping my paper. I don’t mind distressing though so baby steps! There was another card in this class which I will post next time. The paper I used here is kaisercraft Pen and Ink, and we coloured the butterflies with weathered wood distress ink,and added flowers and die cut leaves. Today is my day off and I am gathering together lots of bits and pieces to turn into tags that i can use on future cards – I have lots of ideas, and I will show you the results! Til tomorrow….

Neat and Tangled Unicorn stamp

_MG_4623 (Medium)_MG_4625 (Medium) I couldn’t resist this cute little Unicorn stamp set by Neat and Tangled. After stamping i coloured with Copic markers, and added flowers and ribbon . The background paper is a from a 6″ pad by lawn fawn. My Puppy Daisy is recovering well from her operation yesterday, she was very sad and sorry for herself last night but seems to have forgotten all about it today and now the challenge is to stop her from jumping up on everything until the wound heals.Meanwhile I have been busy in the kitchen this morning making a big pot of vegetable soup for tea as it is so cold here, and also some lemon butter spread to use up some of our lemon crop. Til tomorrow….

Welcome Baby..

_MG_4604 (Medium)Another Panda card today, and this one is for a newborn baby. The stamp set is party pandas by Stampin Up, and I have used a couple of Seven Paper Doll dies ( stitched rectangles and words) to complete this one. I added a pretty bow, flower and some sequins to bling this one up a bit!I have been busy at work this week so not so much crafting, but I have spent this morning stamping out some flowers onto watercolour paper so that I can practise with my new Zig clean colour markers this afternoon when I am over at Mum and Dads place. The Cruise line contacted me this morning asking if I would like to be their Art/craft instructor again this year so I am having a look at the cruise for this summer and working out which one(s) I can commit to. It’s all good fun! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely revisited..

_MG_6369 (Medium)There is a story behind today’s card…When my son Daniel was home at Christmas he mentioned that a friend in his office wished she could have come home with him so that she could spend some time in my craft room and learn how to make cards, so before Daniel went back to Sydney I made up a bit of a kit for her and this card was the prototype of the kit I sent for her to put together. She has since made it and sent me a photo of her proudly holding it! In two weeks today I will be sailing the blue seas, but when I get back I will send her some more kits. Anyway, I should mention that this paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so lovely ( an old collection but beautiful)and the associated collectables. For now I am off to prepare tea, til tomorrow….

My Minds Eye In Bloom double zig zag…

_MG_4262 (Medium)_MG_4263 (Medium)Today we are back to cards, and these are the final two cards I have made using My Minds Eye In Bloom papers. I made my favourite double zig zag cards and relied solely on the papers with just a couple of ribbon bows and some glitter. I die cut the sentiment with Kaisercraft all occasions die.Today is a public holiday here and i have kept the day free to be able to spend some relaxing time in the craft room. All week we have been opening many boxes of new stock at Paper Flourish and I couldn’t resist…I have quite a few new things to create with ..so without further ado  I am off to the craft room!! Til Tomorrow….
