Embossing ( and just a die cut)

_MG_4592 (Medium)This is a card that I taught at paper Flourish a couple of months ago. We did a set of three cards all relying on embossing and die cutting with pastel colours. The die I have used is a Seven paper Dolls die which will be available to purchase  from our webstore when it has it’s grand opening on the 1st of May. It has been a busy and exciting time getting the web store up and running and we see the finish line in our sights! The sentiment die is from kaisercraft as are the embossing folders I used. I stuck a row of flowers across the join I had created by combining two different embossed pieces of cardstock. I have always loved pastel colours and the three cards we created in class are favourites of mine. I have rediscovered embossing folders recently, they are an undervalued piece of cardmaking equipment in my opinion!  I have spent a little time today in the craft room creating some June lessons, but really it has been a lazy and relaxing day off. Til tomorrow…..

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms..

_MG_4591 (Medium)Once again for some reason my computer has decided these cards look better on their sides! So please just imagine they are standing in a landscape format!! I have used the same stamp ( from Stampin Up Birthday Blooms) and I have stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Zig markers as I was experimenting with these wonderful new markers. With one colour you can get a graduation of colour by colouring directly where you want the colour darkest, and then I just pulled the colour around with an aqua brush ( a normal paintbrush and cup of water would also do the job). I scattered some drops of clear Nuvo around to look like water drops, and the dies are a nesting stitch die by seven paper dolls. Matching ribbon trim, a bit of patterned paper on the top card, and a bling flat backed pearl and these were super easy and what I would call clean and simple! Til tomorrow….._MG_4587 (Medium)

Prima Lavender card..

_MG_9443 (Medium)I bought this range before I went on my cruise, and only had time to make one or two cards with it, but hopefully I will find a little time to get it out again!. The range is Prima Lavender, and I also bought some Amelia Rose, which is very similar colours and so I may mix and match the ranges ( something I don’t normally do)on future cards. I added some Prima flowers and some rose gold sequins. I am off to Mum and Dads today, I have lots of new dies to play with so I am taking them with me to cut some for mum. I have been going through all my papers in the craft room this week, sorting out which collections are going to the craft fair. I have to reduce my stock so that I can fit more in! Managing the stash is as much of a hobby as the actual creating! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft miss Betty double zig zag..

_MG_9441 (Medium)_MG_9442 (Medium)The Kaisercraft Miss Betty collection worked perfectly as a double zigzag card, and here are two that I made with this collection. I used a mix of 12 x 12 papers, some papers from the 6″ pad and the matching collectables. On the top card i made the most of my lace, ribbon and flowers whereas on the lower card I only added a little ribbon and a few sequins. I had a great day yesterday playing with my new Go Press and Foil cut, foil and emboss dies, here is a selection of completed cards! IMG_0606

Kaisercraft Miss betty 2..(Shabby chic)

_MG_9440 (Medium)The second card made with kaisercraft Miss Betty collection! Here I have used some of the 12 x 12 sheets, and the matching collectables. The die cut fence is a couture creations die and I inked around all my distressed edges with tea dye ink and added a ribbon bow and little flower. This week has been hugely busy at work putting out all the new pre orders and I must admit I have a few new things to play and experiment with including the new Go Press and foil  foil, emboss and cut dies ( which do all that in one step!). They are on my dining table ready to go in about 5 minutes!! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Miss Betty number 1….

_MG_9439 (Medium) I have managed to find a little time to play with Kaisercraft Miss Betty. This is my favourite kind of paper, it has a vintage shabby kind of look and I can go to town using my ribbons and lace! For todays card I distressed all of my edges ( 12 x 12 papers) and inked them with tea dye distress ink. I did some die cutting, including a lovely leaf die which I used on an old book page, and inked with more tea dye ink, and added some of the collectables from the same range , extra flowers, pearl strip, and a ribbon bow.Til tomorrow…..

Happy Anniversary!

IMG_0558Today is our 37th wedding anniversary and I made this card for my husband. Sorry it appears to be on its side, although I did rotate it so not sure what is happening there, but hopefully you get the idea!I used my go press and foil to foil emboss the spotty background, and foil all the wooden pieces too. All i had to do after that was die cut the layers with a postage stamp die set. Today I paid for my stall at the June long weekend craft and hobby fair at parafield gardens, ( the recreation centre) so after the busy week I have work wise this week it will be time to sort out all my cards for the stall. But as I said, before that a very busy few days at work organising our stall at marion Leisure centre craft fair on Sunday. I am really looking forward to taking our shop on the road! I may not get back here until next Monday so until then ……

It’s all about the Shoes!

_MG_9389 (Medium)_MG_9391 (Medium) A pair of shoes today! The patterned papers are from my 12 x 12 Mambi Happy pad,and i die cut the shoes from glitter cardstock ( american crafts brand). I have also done some foiling with the Go Press and foil machine ( couture Creations) The Happy Birthday pieces are Dusty attic and foiled, and I also foiled the oval with a couture creations metal stamp specifically designed for foiling. Some flowers and ribbon bows and these two were complete! I have had a relaxing Easter break, prepared all my May lessons, and yesterday Joe, Nathan and I went for a drive up to Mt Lofty Botanical gardens. It was a beautiful day weather wise, and we all enjoyed strolling up and down the paths where we saw the leaves on the trees turning their autumn colours. Til tomorrow…..IMG_0502IMG_0497

Happy Anniversary!

_MG_9438 (Medium) Today is Mum and dads 62nd wedding anniversary and the whole family is getting together to celebrate, so I thought it was fitting to post this card I made with Mambi happy 12 x 12 paper pad. I die cut the hearts from more paper of the same range, die cut some white greenery(!) with a seven paper dolls die, added a kaisercraft wooden piece that I had foiled with the go press and foil, and some flowers, rhinestones and ribbon bow to finish. I hope you are all having a happy and safe Easter. Til tomorrow…..

Oops missed one!Couture Creations..

_MG_9426 (Medium)I thought I had shown all my Couture Creations C’est la Vie makes, but I missed one! I think this is my favourite too! All the papers are from that colection, and distressed and inked around the edges.I found a few birds and butterflies to fussy cut from the papers, and the gate die and flower dies are also from the C’est la Vie range by couture creations. I inked up the die cut flowers with distress inks, and the brad in the centre of the largest flower is a stampin up vintage brad. I inked a little versamark ink across the top of the gate die cut and heat embossed with gold powder to experiment with aging the gate…I will be experimenting more with this idea. Assorted greenery was added, from bits and pieces on my desk from other projects. Thats all for today, Til tomorrow….._MG_9426 (Medium)
