Anna Griffin camilla collection – the rose die cut wasn’t coloured, so I coloured it using tim holtz distress inks and a finger dauber, or as one of my lovely mature ladies called it – a cardmakers thimble! – that tickled my fancy, and may be what I call them from now on!I just added some perfect pearls , and ribbon.Sat down today to plan out my November lesson – the ideas are not coming – I blame the paper I chose, I thought it would be easy to work with, but turns out it’s not, so may go back to the drawing board and choose something completely different! After tea I will give it another go, til tomorrow….

Vintage style
A short break from all things christmas to have a look at some new papers I purchased a couple of weeks ago – they are Anna Griffin from the Camilla collection, and I only bought a few sheets, not the whole range, but I did also purchase the matching die cut embellishments. These papers were gorgeous to work with – I love the soft colours, and for this card I turned on the vintage flavour by adding lots of ribbon, lace and bling. I used my spellbinders Dress form die and painted the die cut with Viva Metallic silver paint, and had great fun dressing it! In the craft room today I am making more christmas cards, I have decided to do one day xmas and one day non xmas – that keeps the ideas fresh! Til tomorrow…
Canvas art number 1
As a bit of a break from cards ( just for today) i thought I would show you all something I have been experimenting with – Canvas Art.I have a few stamps that are shown off to better advantage when used in a scene like this, and it’s been in my mind for a while to try something like this. I used tim holtz ranger distress inks to colour the canvas background, and then stamped directly onto the canvas with some stamps from Oxford Impressions In the Deep. I stamped and coloured the fish seperately onto cardstock and stuck them onto the canvas, and added some netting, string and a brad for some added texture. I edged the canvas with Viva metallic paint in Gold.Hope you like my little diversion – back to cards tomorrow! Til tomorrow….

I found a group of cards that I made a couple of months ago that I haven’t posted, so I thought I should put them up before we start on all the cards I make using next months new releases.Quite a few of my favourite companys have papers coming out – I won’t know where to start!Tonights card is os simple using kaisercraft Fine and Sunny 6″ paper pad and a few of the matching collectables to make a little scene. Perfect for a New Home card.Quick post tonight, as it’s shopping night – been a very busy week, and haven’t been in the craft room, and can’t see myself getting in there before the weekend . More new stuff, and a Fathers day card…
Over the weekend I have been experimenting with a great find! It’s called Viva precious metal. It comes in a little bottle, and you apply it with a sponge to die cuts etc, to achieve a wonderful metallic colour. On this card I have applied the Bronze to a spellbinders Sprightly Sprocket die, and teamed it up with the great new papers and collectables from Kaisercrafts new release – Sears & Sons, and some stampin up early espresso cardstock. This paper is fantastic for masculine cards, and just in time for Fathers day. Over the next couple of days I will show you what else I have done with this paper, and my new paints! Til tomorrow….
Boys 21st card
Todays card is an order I made for a 21st card. The papers used are Bo Bunny weekend market ( I love the rich colours of these papers) and I added a few bits and pieces – a Kaisercraft these days collectables Key, some craftworks candii ( my new favourite embellishment, especially for male themed cards – one packet goes a long way) ,and a Stampin Up vintage brad and bakers twine.I had a lovely morning over at Paper Flourish setting up my september class, which is all about Christmas, and buying lots ( probably too much ) of new bits and pieces to experiment with. I intend to find a fair bit of spare time this weekend to play with it all! Til tomorrow….
Elegant Bird
I fell in love with this Stampin Up Elegant Bird die, although i didn’t realise it would cut such a large bird – all the same he’s a beauty! On this card I used Stampin Up Twitterpated designer paper, bazzil and stampin up cardstock – basic Grey, a My Minds eye brad, button and ribbon. I ran the body of the bird through the cuttlebug with my trusty swiss dots folder – the first embossing folder I ever bought and still the one I reach for most.No Cards tonight as it’s shopping night and I have to get my gear together for my Paper Flourish class tomorrow – I am looking forward to seeing all my ladies. Til tomorrow….
Apothecary art stamp set 2
AÂ very early post today as it’s shopping tonight, and i want to set up 3 lessons before then – I am trying to get ahead a little bit because I have a trip to Canberra in a couple of weeks ( so looking forward to that) and of course my 3 day craft fair almost straight after that. I remember saying a couple of weeks ago that I was going through a pink/grey phase – this is one of those cards. The stamp set is Apothecary art stamp set from Stampin Up,and the designer paper is also from Stampin Up – Twitterpated.Cardstock is stampin Up basic grey and Pink Pirrouetteand I added some lace, ribbon and a flower made from scrap paper using my sizzix 3d flowers die. The sentiment across the middle is from a set by Stampin Up called So happy for you. The Apothecary art set comes with sentiments, but I wanted a more delicate print. All the labels are die cut using my cuttlebug and stampin Up label collection dies.Til tomorrow….
