Couture Creations C’est la Vie..

_MG_9393 (Medium) Before I went Cruising I bought some papers, dies and embossing folders by couture creations from their Cest La vie range. I didn’t get much time to play with all my new buys, but did manage  a few quick makes. This card was the first one ..I think you can always tell my first card made from any range as it’s always quite simple and it is really just a testing out of how the colours work together. I added some lace and twill ribbon and one of my gorgeous resin frames which are getting very few in number..If anyone knows where I can get more of these please let me know!Til tomorrow….

Go press and Foil card ..the other one..

_MG_9388 (Medium) While I had my Go press and foil machine out I foiled a few extra pieces to have on hand on my desk so you will see bits popping up on other random cards, but this card was all Go Press and Foil. I used the big go press and foil stamp ( its called a stamp but is actually a metal plate) to foil the aqua background and fussy cut out the centre and around the outside. I gold foiled a happy birthday chipboard piece from Dusty Attic, and the little wooden bird by Kaisercraft. The Green foiled foliage is a wooden piece by kaisercraft and I added some gorgeous flowers from Iamroses. Today is a public holiday here and I am making good use of the day off to try and clear my desk, where random projects have been started and left there! Til tomorrow….

Go Press and Foil Card

_MG_9424 (Medium)

I am back from my cruise and the time has just flown by! We had a very rough crossing to Tasmania, luckily I didn’t suffer from seasickness but many people did. I had full classes though, and met some lovely ladies, and a few gentlemen!Once we arrived in Tasmania the weather was lovely and cool, a welcome change from here in Adelaide. I have come back to the heat and really will be glad when the cooler weather arrives. Todays card is a card i made using lots of elements foiled with my Go Press and Foil machine ( couture creations). There is a bit of embossing with folders from Kaisercraft just using my big shot die machine, then onto the foiling…. The wooden Rose is by Kaisercraft, the Happy Birthday is chipboard by Dusty attic, and both are foiled with deep red foil through the go press. The oval is also foiled and it is a couture creations stamp, specifically made for the foil machine. I finished my card off with a little bling and a ribbon bow. Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely 4,5 and 6…

_MG_6380 (Medium)_MG_6381 (Medium)_MG_6383 (Medium)Three cards today because this post will be last one for ten days or so as I leave on my Cruise today. I am sure I have packed everything we will need for my craft classes, but if not we will improvise! Today’s cards are made with the Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely range and are the last three in this series. When I come back we will start a new series. On all three cards I relied heavily on the papers, just adding a little ribbon, lace and bling.Anyway, all stay safe until I get back! Bye for now…

Kaisercraft Oh so lovely..not a card!

_MG_6379 (Medium) My Cousin has headed off to England to spend a couple of years working over there, and I made her this frame to remind her how special she is! The paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely, the flowers were Prima, but I have had them a long time, The acetate butterfly is from a kaisercraft sheet and I had the frame in my craft stash. I have just returned from the dentist where I had a filling replaced and I am wishing I had my cup of coffee before I went there.. I am off to look for a straw and then tackle the final bit of packing for the cruise. Til tomorrow…..

kaisercraft Oh so lovely 2…

_MG_6378 (Medium)I have had this paper for a while, but I don’t think I had done anything with it until I stumbled upon it in the craft room a couple of weeks ago.. I wonder how many more collections are hiding in there waiting to be stumbled upon? I have started teaching some Shabby Chic classes at work but I am only a beginner myself so I just practised a bit on this card. I distressed all my edges, and then inked with Tea dye distress ink, and up in the left hand corner I used some Nuvo Glitter paste through a stencil just to see how that would work..not badly as it turns out! I added some random flowers in the lower left corner and some of the collectables from the collection to finish.  I received all my boarding information today for the cruise I am teaching on next week, craft suitcases are packed, not long now!! til tomorrow…..

another stenciled background..

_MG_6370 (Medium) Todays card is made with pieces of cardstock that I was experimenting with. I took some white cardstock and stenciled through a Kaisercraft stencil with Liquitex iridescent medium. It leaves a lovely pearly pattern on my cardstock. To make the card I just used whatever was on my craft desk which happened to be some Prima bits and pieces and a die cut fence and white ribbon. This morning we went and picked up a new puppy who we have called daisy, and at the moment she is getting to know our other puppy Luna. They will be best mates, I am sure, at the moment they are running around the back yard! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely revisited..

_MG_6369 (Medium)There is a story behind today’s card…When my son Daniel was home at Christmas he mentioned that a friend in his office wished she could have come home with him so that she could spend some time in my craft room and learn how to make cards, so before Daniel went back to Sydney I made up a bit of a kit for her and this card was the prototype of the kit I sent for her to put together. She has since made it and sent me a photo of her proudly holding it! In two weeks today I will be sailing the blue seas, but when I get back I will send her some more kits. Anyway, I should mention that this paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so lovely ( an old collection but beautiful)and the associated collectables. For now I am off to prepare tea, til tomorrow….

Wedding Card…

_MG_6366 (Medium) Todays card is a wedding card which is a little different for me because I relied less on the papers( I just used a little Kaisercraft Romantique..the label for the sentiment and the gold embossed strip across the centre of the card) and I made my own background paper. I used Nuvo Gold glitter paste and brushed it through a kaisercraft stencil. This is so easy to do, and dries really quickly..so quickly that I suggest you wash your stencil straight away! I added some delicate ribbon and some gorgeous flowers from Iamroses. I brushed them with a little of the gold glitter paste. The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp which I gold embossed. I have finally finished preparing my lessons for April, and today I hope to sit in the craft room and make some birthday cards I need for family and friends upcoming birthdays. It is finally cooler here ..not sure for how long but i am going to enjoy it while I can! Til tomorrow….

Making my own background papers!

_MG_6368 (Medium) Todays card is a little different for me because I was experimenting with adding more to my background papers. I have used the Kaisercraft Romantique range, and taken quite a plain piece of the 12 x 12 paper from the range, used  a kaisercraft stencil and brushed through the stencil with Liquitex iridescent medium. In real life this gives the paper a lovely sheen and I was quite impressed! I went on to decorate my card with some collectables from the same range and some trim and ribbon. The butterfly is on acetate which I fussy cut from a 12 x 12 sheet of them also from the kaisercraft Romantique range. Thats itfor today…I am off to the craft room to continue on planning my April lessons! til tomorrow….
