A wish for Peace stamp set

IMG_9563 (Medium)Every year one of the first Christmas cards I make is with this stamp set from Stampin Up called A wish for Peace. It’s quite a few years old, but I like the challenge of finding something new to do with it every year. This year I used Stampin up cardstock and embossed the top layer with a cuttlebug Christmas folder after die cutting a circle from the middle of it. I stamped the image on the base card, and added lots of glitter to it once the ink had dried. The holly was die cut with a sizzix die. This was a simple make and would work with lots of my Christmas stamps.A few christmas items trickling through now, and I have spent all weekend working with Kaisercraft silver bells paper collection – My favourite so far this year! til tomorrow….

Qick and easy Christmas card

IMG_9571 (Medium)Here is a quick and easy Christmas card using non-christmas bits and pieces. Die cut ( or punch) a circle, punch out a handful of leaves, stick them around the circle, add sequins, a ribbon bow and a happy christmas sticker and done! You could step it up by adding an embossed or patterned paper layer underneath, but some of my customers like the simple ones for their xmas cards which is why this one was made. I am back in the craft room this afternoon making more christmas cards with the kaisercraft silver bells collection. This paper collection is my favourite so far this season, and the ideas keep coming! Til tomorrow….

simple Christmas card and a step up..

IMG_9572 (Medium)IMG_9573 (Medium)Here are a couple of Christmas cards, using the same dies, but the top card is the simple version and the lower card is a stepped up version. The two dies used are Kaisercraft dies ( love them – they cut so well) Poinsetta die and season greetings die.(the lower card uses the merry christmas die) I cut the poinsetta from pearlescent paper which gives it a lovely sheen. the lower card step up…a layered white piece of cardstock embossed with swiss dots folder,a run of cream/gold ribbon, and a kaisercraft sparklet in the centre of the poinsetta. the piece of music patterned paper is a kaisercraft piece from one of last years releases. This morning all the mundane jobs done, so a bite of lunch, then into the craft room for a nice relaxing afternoon. Til tomorrow…..

last 2 irresistably yours cards

IMG_2456 (Medium)IMG_2458 (Medium)These two cards were made with the same sheet of Stampin Up irresistably yours cardstock, but look so different. for the top card I sprayed the cardstock with dylusions sprays ( A tip – wait for one colour to dry before spraying the other colour – I learnt that one the hard way and ended up with a mud coloured mess!). then it was just a matter of some die cutting to finish. the bottom card is my first Christmas card for the year! I sponged this one with ink, and added a spellbinders die bauble and some sequins. I headed over to paper flourish today to get some papers for my next few classes, so will be busy this weekend coming up with some new cards and while I was there  also managed to get the new range of graphic 45 gilded lily – it is gorgeous and I can’t wait to make some cards with it – classes first, then some palying. Thats my weekend sorted!Til tomorrow

Graphic 45 twas the night before Christmas..

IMG_3200 (Medium)I haven’t done nearly enough with this paper so far ,But have managed this one ( Graphic 45 Twas the night before christmas).stampin up cardstock, and ribbon threaded through a die cut from the same range, I fussy cut the Holly and stamp image and layered it all on to a card front. Hopefully before Christmas is upon us I get back to this paper! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Yuletide 11,12 and 13

IMG_3173 (Medium)IMG_3176 (Medium)Kaisercraft yuletide collection, 12 x 12 papers, and a collectable on the top card.I have used some spellbinders dies on all cards, and the borders that come in the back of the 6’paper pads.the bottom cards are decorated with sequins, and I added ribbon on all cards.Tomorrow a bit of a break from christmas, but still a card I made with this collection! Til tomorrow….

christmas cards using last years scraps number 4

IMG_5503 (Medium)Here is another idea to use up those little strips of patterned papers. I have cut some banners and grouped them together with a decorative brad, but you could string them across the top of the card for another look. a message die cut and ribbon was all that was needed to finish! tomorrow we will look at scraps that are a little bit bigger! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Holly Bright 9 and 10

IMG_2811 (Medium)Todays cards were made with Kaisercraft Holly Bright papers. I made these ones with the idea that you could enclose a gift voucher in them, so the front layer is peeled back and I used my Memory Keepers envelope maker to make a small envelope – I used the smallest size on the board for this.the greetings were cut out from a sheet of matching paper – this sheet is brilliant – it has 36 greeting on it so great value. The cards didn’t need any more in the way of decoration so I just added a little bling.

graphic 45 12 days of christmas number 10

IMG_9383 (Medium)Here it is, the last in my graphic 45 12 days of christmas series. I think I have combined everything on this one – layering, fussy cutting, lace and chipboard pieces.I have loved using this paper, still have some left, but today I have been working on more christmas cards using up my kaisercraft paper. I must concentrate on using up some older papers, as I have run out of room to buy more so there may be some posts where we revisit some old favourites! Til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 12 days of christmas number 3

IMG_6084 (Medium)The paper I used her ( graphic 45 12 days of christmas) was from the 8″ pad, so its the same image as last nights card but smaller, which allowed for a bit more decoration. I matted the image onto some green bazzil cardstock, and layered some fussy cut papers in the corner. The card base is made from Stampin Up cardstock. I have a class tomorrow – so looking forward to seeing my ladies, so must go and pack my bag! Til tomorrow….
