Lemoncraft House of Roses…not so shabby!

_MG_1813 (Medium) One of the classes I teach at paper Flourish is called Not So Shabby because although I love the shabby chic look I still haven’t mastered the genre and so have created my own take on it.I also need a fair bit of practise so that I can stay one step in front of my pupils so you will be seeing my progress here. This is a card I made with a paper collection called House of Roses by a company called Lemoncraft. lemoncraft have the most amazing shabby style papers and also A4 sheets full of fussy cutting options, both of which I have used on this card. I did a little die cutting ,fussy cutting, added some lace and the focal point on my card is the resin frame which I made with a silicone mold and No More gaps ( available at your local hardware store!). I didn’t paint this one , it is as it came out of the mold. It has been a busy morning full of housework, Roast is in the oven and after lunch I plan to relax in the craft room – can not wait!! Til tomorrow….

stamperia letters and flowers..

_MG_1818 (Medium)Another card today using the gorgeous Stamperia letters and Flowers papers, and some stunning lace! The frame which I painted with Prima Sparks acrylic paint is interesting because I made it with a silicone mold and some No more gaps from the hardware store! it takes a couple of days to dry in the mold but comes out beautifully! I have made a lot of these molded frames and flourishes so you will see them from time to time on my projects. For now though i have picked up my new kaisercraft papers and it is a Christmas range so I am all ready to start the Christmas makes! off I go… til tomorrow….

Stamperia letters and flowers paper…

_MG_1754 (Medium)Todays card showcases a new range of papers to paper Flourish which I just couldnt resist, and something else I have been doing – making my own embellishments! First the paper…it is by a company called Stamperia and this range is called letters and flowers. I fussy cut the dragon from a piece of the paper, and the tag was printed on the paper so just had to fussy cut that out too. I added a little gorgeous lace,, but the main item on this card is the window.. I made it!! I know! I have a few silicone molds, and this is one of them , I used No More Gaps… you know those long tubes of gap filler from the hardware shop – one of those –  and filled my mold, smoothed it with an old credit card and left it to dry for two days. It came out of the mold as you see it here although I have had good fun painting some of my frames with Prima sparks paint . It is a really cheap way of making frames and It is great fun. I didnt buy the most expensive brand, my tube cost just $2-25, and I have made so many with that one tube. I am off now to paint a few more ready for cards so you will see more as i use them… Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue double zig zag..

_MG_2973 (Medium)I love this range of kaisercraft – it’s called Rose Avenue, and I have used it quite a lot, ( still have some left so it’s not the last time you will see it!), and for these two cards I made them in the double zig zag fold. On the card above I added a little strip of pearls,a die cut leafy flourish, some flowers , a ribbon bow,and a chipboard bird which I foiled with the go press and foil machine. For the lower card  I just added ribbon and lace, and some matching collectables. I worked most of the weekend, but did find some time to make 7 cards for an order, I have some classes to prepare this week but I also want to find some time to play with my new 3D embossing folders..and I also have some more zig watercolours so I am off now to stamp out an image or two and just sit and relax with some colouring! Ah, life is good! Til tomorrow….._MG_2976 (Medium)

A box for the book cards..

IMG_0762 In the previous post I explained how I made my book cards. After I had made them I realised they needed boxes to put them in so I made a box with a lid , but then realised that the lid needed decorating too, which all adds to the time and cost of making them so for this third book I made the box and cut a huge part of the lid away and backed it with a sheet of acetate so that you can see the box inside and it eliminates the need for decoration. Finally I am happy with the process and ready to make many more! we are going to a wedding in a couple of months so the next book card I make will be a wedding design. Til tomorrow…

Thinking of you..

_MG_2982 (Medium) I made a card with not a bit of patterned paper which is very rare for me! I die cut a large rectangle out of the front of my card, and most of the decorating happened on the card i stuck inside the card. I die cut a tree, and punched a few extra branches in a different colour ( which I also added to the ground around the bench). The bench is a stampin up stamp which I heat embossed in gold. I added a cute little ladybug to the bench. and die cut the Thinking of you words. Well the man is still up on the roof stomping about up there, he has had to stop and start as the rain has been affecting his working but we never complain about rain so he just works around it! I have a late start for work today, but i must go and get organised…til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Miss Betty double zigzag..

_MG_3003 (Medium)Sorry I have been missing for a few days, I have been busy with work, creating classes and then the usual running of the household! As we speak there is a man on my roof restoring it, it is old and tired and had developed leaks….something some of us can commiserate with !The Two cards today are made with kaisercraft Miss Betty collection, I keep promising to make a you tube clip showing how to do this fold, and it will get done, Nathan has had a few problems with the cameras, but I think those kinks may be fixed so we shall see.. The sticker sheet that comes with the kaisercraft collections is perfect for doing these cards, they usually have long borders on them that I never know what to do with but they fit perfectly along the thinner zig zag strip. In other news I have taken the first step towards starting my Christmas cards.. I have been out to the shed and collected some christmas papers! I will take it over to mum and dads place today and sit and chat and craft with them.. til tomorrow…._MG_2974 (Medium)

Kaisercraft memory lane…class cards..

_MG_2988 (Medium)_MG_2990 (Medium)_MG_2996 (Medium)Todays cards are 3 cards my ladies made in a class I did at Paperflourish a couple of months ago, using Kaisercraft memory Lane papers. We did a little bit of die cutting with a seven paper dolls label die, a little layering of the lovely pastel mint papers and a lot of fussy cutting! We used Nuvo Crystal drops to add a little bit of shimmer. This one was a lovely relaxed class, with lots of chat time! This weekend I have been concentrating on finishing off my cruise class packs because it is time to start the Christmas cards and I am heading into the shed today to dig out my christmas dies and stamps! great fun… til tomorrow…..

Another Shabby Chic lesson card..

_MG_2987 (Medium)Todays card is another shabby chic that I taught in a lesson. This was one of my first shabby classes and we were concentrating more on distressing and inking our papers. I love the Shabby chic style but I still have issues ripping my paper. I don’t mind distressing though so baby steps! There was another card in this class which I will post next time. The paper I used here is kaisercraft Pen and Ink, and we coloured the butterflies with weathered wood distress ink,and added flowers and die cut leaves. Today is my day off and I am gathering together lots of bits and pieces to turn into tags that i can use on future cards – I have lots of ideas, and I will show you the results! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Limelight 5

_MG_2984 (Medium)_MG_2985 (Medium)There are two photos of the same card today to show more closely the effect I achieved by die cutting a rectangle from the front of my card to create a window to the inside, so the top image is the open card and the lower image is the same card when closed. A lot of the bits and pieces on this card came from the collectables from the kaisercraft limelight collection, but I added a gorgeous pre- made carnation, some punched leaves, rhinestones and a cute little ladybird. Til tomorrow….
