Truly Vintage with prima tales of you and me

IMG_0591 (Medium)Today I have indulged my favourite style – Vintage! The paper collection is Prima Tales of you and me, and I have used the same image on both cards. On the left card I fussy cut the image, and did some clean layering, inking the edges with tea dye distress ink as I went.I added a matching chipboard butterfly,a die cut leaf, Prima flowers and ribbon. For the right hand side I went for a more shabby feel – I love this style too, but have real trouble ripping and tearing my precious papers, but still I keep trying! I used the image as it was,die cut a flourish, and added some gold twine, a Prima flower and fussy cut butterflies, ribbon and lace. Today is a glorious winter day – the sun is shining, and this afternoon I am off to the retirement village to show the ladies how to make a bendy card! Til tomorrow….

Two more fresh from my desk

IMG_6468IMG_6469I finished my orders yesterday, and here are two of them, the top card is being posted, so had to stay quite flat. I used Stampin Up botanical blooms dies and stampin up cardstock for this one, and die cut some glitter flourishes, punched a glitter butterfly, and added liquid pearls and sequins. the bottom card was much more textured with lots of flowers, more glitter flourishes, and key and ribbon bow. I am caught up with my orders now, but no crafting today, I am taking Mum out to spend her Mothers day money at Paper Flourish and we will visit spotlight too – we are on the hunt for very very fine paint brushes for dad, I found them on-line but they are very expensive and he goes through so many so we will have a look around locally.Til tomorrow….

Velvet Crush number 6

IMG_1067 (Medium)I have a few more cards to show that I made with Kaisercraft Velvet Crush paper collection. This collection sold out very quickly at my local papercraft store, and I beleive kaisercraft are out of stock at the moment too, it’s been so popular. The colours are gorgeous I have to say… These few cards that I made are Mothers day cards – I start them early because I sell so many Mothers day cards – it’s busier than christmas for me!for this one I used the 12 x 12 papers, and i fussy cut some butterflies out of some of the paper, and there is a butterfly from the collectables there too. The sentiment, cardstock and ribbon are from stampin Up, I used an ek success border punch, and Kaisercraft rhinestones to finish.you could of course change the sentiment to suit your celebration. I am going to spend a good few relaxing hours in the craft room after tea making some engagement and wedding cards. i have pulled out some old collections that are suited to these themes, and I am ready to go! Til tomorrow….

One for the boys….

IMG_8682 (Medium)I spent a day last week going through my paper collection, and  as I was tidying, I kept stopping to make cards with the papers i was unearthing, so over the next few days I will show you these – some of the papers may not be available now, but you would be able to get the same result with current papers, the sketch ideas work with most papers. This one was Echo Park For the record  paper collection, and I used Stampin Up Hearts a Flurtter dies to die cut the banner  across the top. The little letters are kaisercraft mini stickers, and the paper already had “boy” splet out – Handy1 Til tomorrow….

graphic 45 secret garden number 2

IMG_8698 (Medium)Graphic 45 secret garden patterned papers, layered a couple of times, and just a little lace and a handmade flower made with the same patterned paper using spellbinders bitty blossoms die. Quick post today, as I am heading into the craft room for the first time all week, and have many ideas to get down on paper! Til tomorrow….

Prima Tea Thyme number 8

IMG_3673 (Medium)I really enjoy making these cards in boxes, and I have done a You Tube video ( titled card in a box box) to show how I make these very simple boxes. For this one I used Prima Tea Thyme 6″pad, and matching flowers. I added some ribbon, lace and an organza bow to finish. The tags used are all found in the 6″pad.I have been amazingly creative this week, and have made close to 40 cards, which I now have to organise Nathan to photo , and I have been very naughty and not done the inserts, so tonight I will be going through them all inserting the verses! That is the most boring job… which explains why I haven’t done them yet! Til tomorrow….

Prima Tea Thyme number 7

IMG_3669 (Medium)When I use 6″ paper pads, I always end up with 2″ strips left over, so for this card I used 2 of the strips, and ran some lace down the join. The paper , flowers and chipboard are all from the Prima Tea Thyme range, and I added a little bling flourish.I am making good headway sorting through my old papers, making the occasional card as I go, and collecting a little pile to give to my sister ( who has just started making cards) and my mum. I will have a little break tonight as I bought some gorgeous wool today, have dug out my knitting needles, and am going to start on a scarf ready for winter! Til tomorrow….

Spellbinders nested tea cups number 3

IMG_3650 (Medium)Here is the third village card, made using the spellbinders nested dies. I can’t take credit for this particular design – I saw something very similar in a magazine, which actually prompted me to buy these dies! The tea cups are turned upside down and used as flowers, and a Cheery Lyn tropical flourish acts as our flower stem. I just added a few butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch, and a greeting and window punch for the greeting ( both from stampin Up) . The cardstock is stampin Up Tangerine Tango.I have some projects on the go in my craft room, but once again the hot weather is holding me back! Til tomorrow….

Spellbinders nested tea cup dies number 2

IMG_3651 (Medium)This is the second card we made over at the retirement village on the weekend . I used the largest nested tea cup die as a vase for the kaisercraft flowers, and some punched fronds(Martha Stewart punch) and Die -namic fancy flourish die. I embossed the bottom of the vase with a border embossing folder, and the cardstock used was Stampin Up rich razzleberry and perfect plum. I have spent some time today making cards with the new graphic 45 secret Garden, and will get Nathan to photo them this weekend so that I can show them next week, and now I have moved on to some mens cards.Til Tomorrow….

Spellbinders nested tea cup card ideas

IMG_3653 (Medium)Yesterday I taught a class over at the retirement village, and we focused on finding different ways to use Spellbinders nested Tea cups dies. Here is the first card, using the dies as they were meant to be used – Tea cups! The cardstock is stampin Up Pink Pirouette, as is the ribbon, and the paper is also stampin up but sadly it is retired.I also used an EK success border punch.Good news – my comment button is fixed! see post below for instructions if you have difficulty, but it is straight forward now I believe.I will be in the craft room tonight planning out some lessons for April, then hopefully a bit of time to play with the new graphic 45 Secret Garden papers, which I can’t wait to cut into! Til tomorrow….
