Go Press and foil anna griffin rose

_MG_4261 (Medium)

Todays card is a very simple elegant card made with just a couple of products. The background paper is My Minds Eye In Bloom and I made the rose with my Go Press and foil machine and an Ana Griffin foil stamp, which I then die cut with an oval die. A black lace bow and that is finished! We have a very hot day today, a bit cooler tomorrow though so that will be a craft day for me while I think about some classes for March!

Kaisercraft Romantique 3 …Another Shabby!

_MG_4257 (Medium)As you can see, the more I worked with this collection ( kaisercraft Romantique) the more I embraced the shabby! I distressed, ripped and rolled and enjoyed it so much …this card is going to be a lesson this month at Paper Flourish where I hope to inspire others to put down their scissors and use their fingers! All my edges are inked with Tea dye distress ink,and the top butterfly is from the collectables pack and the bottom butterfly is from the acetate sheet that kaisercraft brought out with the collection. Most of the flowers are by Prima, and all the leaves are various dies by Sue Wilson creative expressions. I used a flower tool die to encourage some lift and shape before inking them with my tea dye ink. Today is very very hot here and not  good in the craft room.. my glue does not like this extreme heat so it is an ideal day to pack the cruise card classes suitcases and make sure I have everything I need. Finally I  can say next month I am cruising! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Romantique…shabby..

_MG_4253 (Medium) I really haven’t had the time to play with this collection, but I have made a few for you to see. It’s the Kaisercraft Romantique collection and it lends itself beautifully to the whole Shabby Chic style, a style I will embrace once I get over the whole ripping my paper hang up I have! Here, I have layered a few of the 12 x 12 patterned papers, and fussy cut an acetate butterfly – in this collection there is a whole sheet of these butterflies and I love them! The leaves are die cut with creative expressions dies, and I inked around every edge with Tea Dye distress ink. I tied a big bow and on top of that I glued a Prima flower with dangly bits that I have been holding onto for ages! The top layer of patterned paper has a lacey print but at the bottom of it I added my own lace in a taupe colour ( Stampin Up lace). I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break, with family and friends, I can’t believe that’s Christmas over for another year! we still have our son home for another few days before he flys back to Sydney next week so the celebrations continue on here ! Til tomorrow….

Merry Christmas, happy Holidays, and a safe new year…

_MG_0641 (Medium)_MG_0648 (Medium)_MG_0651 (Medium)To all my regular visitors ( thank you!) and all my new friends, I wish you all a very happy holiday break with your loved ones and friends. I will take a short break over the festive season, but in the meantime today I have posted 3 very simple cards made with Kaisercraft Rose Avenue Papers. these cards are all made with 12 x 12 paper from the collection, and I actually designed them for a class I taught at paper Flourish a couple of months ago. The only embellishments on this group was some lace trim. I did ink around all my edges with Tea Dye distress ink. I will be back in a few days, meanwhile in this busy season find some time for yourself and enjoy creating! Love helen xx

Nuvo Glimmer Paste!!

_MG_0604 (Medium) A couple of weeks ago we got some new Nuvo Glimmer Paste into the shop, and I couldn’t resist having a bit of a play with it!I used the clear glimmer paste and brushed it through a stencil to create the glittery background on this card. I love Glimmer paste! It is really shiny and glittery, and dries really quickly. I used the gold glimmer paste to paint the chipboard bird, and the background paper on this card is Kaisercraft Rose Avenue. I added flowers, ribbon and lace to finish. I thought I had finished my cruise cards this week but they asked for another class so I have been working on that and today I am off to the craft room to make a couple of birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 6..

_MG_0615 (Medium)Todays card was actually one we did in one of my classes. The paper is a piece of the 12 x 12 patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Rose Avenue collection, and I just added a strip of lace down the side. I inked around all my edges with tea dye ink, and that was a nice quick card. I have finished work for the week, but I am really busy in the craft room.. I am teaching a fourth class in January so I am working on that, and the cruise I am teaching on in February want another class, making the grand total of classes on the cruise to 6, and with 2 different cards in each class and prep for a maximum of 36 people in each class. That has been a lot of die cutting etc we have prepared!Anyway, I will at least come up with the design for the last class this weekend and then gather all the supplies later! Til tomorrow…..

Couture Creations: Let every day be Christmas….

_MG_9835 (Medium)_MG_9837 (Medium)Here are the last two cards I made using the Couture Creations Let every day Be Christmas A4 pad. I have lots of this paper left, but it might be kept to start me off on next years cards now as I am starting to wind down the Christmas makes, although Nathan did some photos for me yesterday while I was at work and there are a few left to post yet, these last ones are “a lot of fun” Christmas cards and I can’t wait to show them to you!But back to todays cards….double zig zag fold design ( you tube clip on the way…)and just various matching pieces of patterned paper from the paper pad with a couple of toppers from the collectable pack that matches the range. I am still working on my large Christmas card order, putting the final touches on that, Cruise cards are on going, but I see a time now when I can play with all the non Christmas papers etc that I have been  collecting and particularly can not wait to start cutting into the Kaisercraft rose avenue collection! Til tomorrow…..

A Box ( or 2) of Butterflies!

_MG_9829 (Medium)I made these two cards for family birthdays, and I used Graphic 45 Natures Sketchbook 12 x 12 papers. I have done a you tube clip on how to make these super easy box cards, they fold down to fit into a normal sized envelope, I posted one and it arrived safe and sound! The link to my you-tube channel is over there on the right hand side of my blog, ( you may have to scroll down a little bit to get to it). I fussy cut lots of butterflies from one of the 12 x 12 papers. I have spent this morning working on December classes, one more to go and I will   have all my classes for the rest of the year sorted! Where has this year gone? I also spent a bit of time die cutting some scrap card to try out some new dies that have been on my craft desk waiting for me to try out! Til tomorrow…..

Graphic 45 Natures Sketchbook number 2….

_MG_9828 (Medium)Once again graphic 45 Natures Sketchbook , just the 12 x 12 papers with some fussy cutting of the gorgeous butterflies. A double zig zag card showcases the papers perfectly, and is quick and easy to make. A piece of cardstock 10.5 cm x 30 cm folded in half, with th the front folded in half  back on itself. and a thinner strip ( 5 cm x 30cm ) scored and folded at 13.5 cm and 21cm. I will get to making a you tube clip of this fold, but if you cant wait give these measurements a go! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Letters to Santa 1 and 2…

_MG_9843 (Medium)_MG_9844 (Medium)After a short break we are back to Christmas Cards! This series is a big one so i am going to post these ones 2 at a time. The paper collection is Kaisercraft Letters to santa, and I purchased the 6’pad, 12 x 12 papers and the collectables so on most of these cards you will see a bit of all these elements.  The top card is 6″ pad on the base, collectables in the corners and the image is  from a piece of 12 x 12 paper fussy cut and inked around the edges with tea dye distress ink. I foiled a piece of kaisercraft wooden flourish with green foil and added red berries with some Nuvo drops. I used the same products on the second card with the addition of ribbon and lace. We have had some lovely weather here this week, so I have spent a little bit of time sitting in the garden enjoying the sun on my face, but today I am going to do some seriuos die cutting of flowers and leaves because I want to master the art of flower shaping..I think that is something I could do in the evening while watching tv, and it will put my many flower dies to good use too…Til tomorrow….
