Nature walk card

I enjoy doing these collage type cards, and I usually use a mix of brand names when I am making them. this card is no exception. The bird is stamped using a stamp from Oxford impressions nature set, the cardstock, patterned paper, seam binding, and Nature walk stamps are all from Stampin Up, The brass leaf is by Tim Holtz, and I also used a Martha Stewart punch, and a feather and some twine.Late post tonight, and still have things to do around here, so no crafting  tonight, Til tomorrow….

Tigerlily and scraps number 2

For number 2 in my Kaisercraft tigerlily  series, I used some of the butterflies I had fussy cut from one of my 2 sheets, and the other sheet for the background paper. I punched a brder with Martha stewart lace doily die, and added ribbon and lace. The cardstock is Stampin Up pink Pirouette.Today has been a funny day in the craft room. I hit a creative roadblock – possibly because I have spent so much time over the last week coming up with original lesson ideas – so when that happens i set myself challenges, and todays was to make a clean and simple card ( they are called cas cards) which is basicly one layer cards – a big challenge for me not to reach for the lace, ribbon, bling etc. Anyway I did it and as soon as nathan photographs it I will post it to see what you all think! Another thing I did today was to experiment with die cutting material – I had heard you could do it, but didn’t believe it, so tested it myself. And it’s true! Now this opens up  endless possibilities for me as before I became a cardmaker, before I was a cross stitcher, and before I was a tapestry person ( don’t know what they are called), I was a seamstress – it’s true – I have the sewing machine and cupboard full of material to prove it. Now all that remains is to find some time to go through said cupboard and sort out what is going to be used on cards! Til tomorrow…

Prima Meadow Lark number 4

Prima meadow lark paper collection, and I used a spellbinders die ( labels 14) to cut out the bird image, which I then inked around the edges. There are two different layers of paper here, one of which has a Martha Stewart punched border. I punched little circles at the edge of the bird image and threaded some matching ribbon through. The sentiment is stamped onto a matching chipboard piece.Today while in the craft room looking for something ( I tend to spend a fair bit of time looking for things!) I found a gorgeous Rose stamp that I hadn’t inked yet. Whatever I was going to do was forgotten and I have spent the afternoon stamping roses and practising my colouring skills. All in all a great afternoon!Spent a lovely morning at Paper flourish teaching my Monday class, so a lovely crafty day today. Til tomorrow….

Marry Me….

This is a very early post for me today, but I wanted to put up this special card, as it was made for my cousin who is getting married today – Best wishes Karen and Danny – It was going in the post so I had to really restrict my inner blingness, and the Bridesmaids dresses are red so I wanted to incorporate that too. I used pearlescent card, and the stamped image and sentiment are from Stampin Up Marry Me set. The cardstock is Stampin Up real red. I used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder, stampin Up bird punch for the leaves, and Martha Stewart Hydrangea punches for the flowers. Liquid pearls – hope they are o.k. in the post – and assorted lace finished it off. Now I am off to te craft room to do an order that has just come through and needed for tonight… Til tomorrow….

another use for stocking punch

O.k. My web master is not here, and my blog is doing strange things – hopefully you will all be able to see the photo and read my bit – I packed up all my xmas card making bits and pieces, and as I had my Stampin up stocking punch in my hand I remembered a card I had seen elsewhere which used said punch as baby bootees, so here is my take on it…I have used Kaisercraft Lullaby papers and a Martha Stewart punch, and some ribbon as well.Another hot day here in Adelaide – No crafting tonight , but I must pack my car ready for the market tomorrow, Til tomorrow….

Lil Primrose 2

Kaisercraft Lil Primrose 6″ pad and matching collectables, a martha Stewart punch, a bit of ribbon, and stampin Up daffodil Delight cardstock for tonights cute girly card. A couple of posts ago I asked for a little help naming a martha stewart punch that I used to make a very lacy rosette – the lovely Carole has e-mailed to let me know it was  a martha stewart deep edge punch called Linked Trim. I am very grateful – thank you Carole.Another  very hot day here in Adelaide so another evening will go by with no crafting done – when its this hot all you can do is sit under the air conditioner. I am a bit frustrated as I am in the middle of designing some shaped cards for next months lesson and if I don’t get these ideas out they will drive me mad or worse… I will forget them….Til tomorrow…

A different folded flower…

Todays card has a new technique on it – The flower is made  with a martha stewart strip punch, and I have thrown the packaging away and can’t remember what its called – maybe someone can help out there- I punched the length of a 12 x 12 papeterned paper and folded it accordian style, just like we do for the sizzix rosetttes, and popped a kaisercraft sparklet in the middle. these are easy to make and are more delicate that the rosettes. The papers used on the card are kaisercraft sweet nothings, I also used  my sizzix leaf die, Stampin up greeting stamp – Well Scripted, spellbinders labels 17, martha stewart butterfly punch and a little ribbon. Til tomorrow….

-edit… I have since been told that the martha stewart punch I used to create the lacy rosette is a deep edge punch called Linked Trim. thank you Carole for the Info.

Bonjour…3

This is card number 3 in my  Kaisercraft Bonjour series. I used the paper, stickers and tag on this one. the cardstock is Stampin up Early espresso, and I also used a martha stewart punch. We had a lovely day over at Kays today, found out why she wanted us to bring a straw and paintbrush, learnt some new techniques and had some laughs along the way.I’m sure she will show the cards using these techniques on her blog ( check my sidebar) at some stage. I have an idea for a box card and my new little tim Holtz birdcage die which I must go and put together before it drives me nuts …. Til tomorrow….
