Stampin Up Bird Ballad..

IMG_1430Last weekend was my sister Kays’ birthday, and I made her this card using Stampin Up Bird Ballad papers , and the associated stamp set, for two reasons…she is a keen photographer of birds, and she is a Stampin up demonstrator and the person I get all my Stampin Up supplies from. I stamped the birds, and coloured them with Copic Markers, and fussy cut some flowers from the designer papers from the Bird Ballad collection. The background paper is also from the same collection. I love this set, and have prepared a lesson for my ladies using it.The time this year is flying by, and my thoughts have now turned to Christmas cards..can’t wait to start creating some cards using new releases..first will be Prima I think.. will keep you posted! Til next time…

Mintay Secret place 1 and 2..

_MG_0152 (Medium)_MG_0153 (Medium)Today’s cards are made with a gorgeous paper range by Mintay called Secret Place. I have only made a few cards with this range so far, ( will show two more next time) and they all sold at my recent craft fair. The top card is just layers of the paper, the window is fussy cut and opens up, and I just added a little lace, flowers and greenery. The lower card also has built up layers, and I added a bird I made in my mold, painted it with irridescent medium, the chipboard corners are by Scrapiniec and painted with Prima alchemy paints, and then just a couple of flowers and die cut greenery. We have hyad beautiful weather this week, although it is meant to be the middle of winter so i have spent hours out in the garden, and not many hours at the craft table, but plan to get lots done this week! Til next time….

Circle cards..

_MG_0124 (Medium)_MG_0122 (Medium)_MG_0119 (Medium)_MG_0115 (Medium)Todays cards were ones I came up with for a class, using kaisercraft Scrapyard papers. They were all made using circle nesting dies to cut the shapes. They are self explanatory, and I didn’t add anything to them except for some rhinestones and greetings, everything was fussy cut from the papers. Today is set up day for the weekend craft fair, I am so looking forward to catching up with everyone who stops by! It is very cold here in Adelaide just now so I may have to take a knee rug with me..it’s always cold in the basketball courts! Til next time….

All about butterflies!

_MG_0098 (Medium)_MG_0103 (Medium)Today’s two cards have one thing in common – Butterflies! The top card has layers of black and white patterned paper, with the focus on the top piece of paper which is covered in butterflies. I fussy cut a couple of extra butterflies to pop on top for a bit of dimension. The papers are from Stampin up, but I am not sure if they are still available. The second card is a really simple card, a layer of patterned paper, an embossed piece of white cardstock, and then the butterfly die cut. The dies are all one piece, with the finer die stuck on top of the thicker die to make a shadow effect. It is a Stampin up die called Butterfly Beauty, and brilliant for quick makes. I just added some bling to the centre of the butterflies. Til tomorrow….

AB Studio card..

_MG_0101 (Medium)Todays card is made with a piece of AB Studio paper I picked up because I loved the bird! He was fussy cut as was some greenery from the page and the card was added to from there.  Some lace, a metal finding cut in half and slipped in under one of the frames I made, and some Scrapeniac chipboard which I painted with Prima alchemy paints. My edged were distressed, and inked with frayed burlap distress ink. Just a quick post today, as I am busy preparing for the 3 day yearly craft fair I attend in June which is only a few weeks away now..Til next time…

Stampin Up Tropical Escape…

_MG_1814 (Medium)IMG_8031 (Large)IMG_8033 (Large)I don’t know about you, but I need a break from Christmas card makes and I am ready to move on! We may revisit Christmas in the next couple of weeks but for now I am happy to show you all some cards i amde with Stampin Up designer papers. From memory the collection is called Tropical escape and I fussy cut various creatures, large and small. The top two cards are aperture cards – I die cut a circle out of the front of the card and most of the decorating inside, just making a leafy window to look through. The leafy fronds were all fussy cut from the papers. The sun was die cut from a Uniquely Creative die. Today is Cherry picking day, it is a little bit cooler, and the sun is hiding behind a blanket of clouds so good weather to harvest our crop! Til tomorrow…..

Stamperia letters and flowers paper…

_MG_1754 (Medium)Todays card showcases a new range of papers to paper Flourish which I just couldnt resist, and something else I have been doing – making my own embellishments! First the paper…it is by a company called Stamperia and this range is called letters and flowers. I fussy cut the dragon from a piece of the paper, and the tag was printed on the paper so just had to fussy cut that out too. I added a little gorgeous lace,, but the main item on this card is the window.. I made it!! I know! I have a few silicone molds, and this is one of them , I used No More Gaps… you know those long tubes of gap filler from the hardware shop – one of those –  and filled my mold, smoothed it with an old credit card and left it to dry for two days. It came out of the mold as you see it here although I have had good fun painting some of my frames with Prima sparks paint . It is a really cheap way of making frames and It is great fun. I didnt buy the most expensive brand, my tube cost just $2-25, and I have made so many with that one tube. I am off now to paint a few more ready for cards so you will see more as i use them… Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Limelight 5

_MG_2984 (Medium)_MG_2985 (Medium)There are two photos of the same card today to show more closely the effect I achieved by die cutting a rectangle from the front of my card to create a window to the inside, so the top image is the open card and the lower image is the same card when closed. A lot of the bits and pieces on this card came from the collectables from the kaisercraft limelight collection, but I added a gorgeous pre- made carnation, some punched leaves, rhinestones and a cute little ladybird. Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft limelight 4…

_MG_2981 (Medium)I have so many paper collections where I have only made a couple of cards and moved on, so my goal is to re visit these and get my moneys worth! This collection is an an older Kaisercraft collection called Limelight, and originally I had only made 3 cards with it so I have made another couple and this is the first of those. The good thing about going back to collections is that since purchasing I have gathered other bits and pieces that may work with said collections! A case in point here is the little ladybird – Nathan found a pack of 100 of these little cute bugs so you will see them popping up everywhere on my projects!I used matching collectables, flowers, and a couple of die cut leaves and lots of layers to complete this card. Til tomorrow…

Cute Pandas!

_MG_4605 (Medium)These Pandas are so cute! they are from a stamp set by Stampin Up (party pandas),and I stamped them and fussy cut them out, doing a little colouring with copic pens. I prepared a background piece by using Distress oxide ink pads, and die cut the rectangle with a Seven Paper Dolls cross stitch die. Such a simple card to make and a favourite of mine…Til tomorrow….
