Attitude!

IMG_8681 (Medium)On my recent cleaning up foray, I stumbled upon a Kaisercraft 6″ pad that I hadn’t used yet – it’s called Attitude, and it’s perfect for teen boy cards, so before I put it away I quickly made this card. I stamped some Bitty Grunge stamps by Stampers Anonymous on the grid paper, and cut a tag and stamped it too, matted everything with black cardstock and added a tim Holtz sprocket gear and game spinner to attach the tag to the card. Maybe this weekend I will have an oppurtunity to make some cards with this pad!  Til tomorrow…

Sears and son 6

IMG_8713 (Medium)I have more in this collection, but we will take a little break after todays post,  and look at some other cards I have been making, and come back to these later. The paper and collectables are Sears and Son by Kaisercraft, and this is my favourite card out of all the cards I made with this 6 ” pad, and the matching collectables. I added some string, inked around all the edges, and found some googly eyes which just  made the perfect gentleman!Another hot day here  today, and a  busy  day at  work so may just sit under the air conditioner and watch some t.v.  before an early night tonight! Til tomorrow…

Sears and Son 5( mens cards)

IMG_8708 (Medium)I made good use of the collectables from the Kaisercraft Sears and Son collection on this card. String around the top for them to hang off, and a couple of Kaisercraft brads to hold the tag. The tag was die cut using a stampin up die, and the sentiment stamp, and cardstock were also stampin up.This is a good sketch for teenage boy cards, and it will be my go -to design for those really difficult cards! Til tomorrow….

Sears and Son 3 and 4

IMG_8707 (Medium)More cards on cards today – Sears and Son paper and collectables by Kaisercraft, and for these two cards I embossed some background cardstock using Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder – Patchwork, which I lightly inked once it came out of the folder. I have spent a productive day in the craft room today playing with some new Prima paper, although I did make a little diversion when I realised that next weekend, besides being Easter is also mum and dads wedding anniversary and mine is shortly after so made a couple of quick anniversary cards. have also realised that we have at least 4 birthdays ( two of them 21sts,) in the next few weeks so will have to get organised for them as well! Art deco Style…

IMG_8679 (Medium)I have posted this card at the request from two of my ladies, who are having a card making day soon to make some art deco style cards. Here I have used some images from the Do crafts Papermania Art deco Collection layered onto black cardstock, and added a touch of lace. I think the secret to Art deco is to keep to geometric shapes – no soft curves or frilly bits here! Even the lace I have used is angular.I also  think black is a good base for this style of card, and if you don’t have black cardstock for bases, use black for your layers. square, diamonds and triangles are all good for Art Deco style cards.Thank goodnes for the weekend, and cooler weather – i am so looking forward to some quality time in the craft room.. My Minds eye my Girl number 3

IMG_8694 (Medium)Number 3 in my My Minds Eye My Girl series – I made good use of the designs on the patterned papers for this one, and die cut ( using stampin up hearts a Flutter dies) a couple of banners, and fussy cut a flower and butterfly as well. The sentiment stamp is from hero arts, and I used stampin up Melon Mambo cardstock and ink.I taught a class today, and while in the shop grabbed some more of this paper, as I think we will be doing cards very similar to these in one of my may classes – I just love the bold bright statement! IMG_8692 (Medium)Another bright card, to match my mood, much improved now  that the weather has cooled down and I can finally craft and create in comfort! Echo park for the record

IMG_8683 (Medium)Another card made with some old Echo Park papers – For the record, made while I was meant to be clearing out some space for new stuff – this is why my craft room is overflowing – I am too easily distracted! I used stampin up cardstock, and kaisercraft mini sticker letters and a kaisercraft brad for this one along with some mesh.I have had a lovely morning with my mature ladies, and hope to spend a little time in the craft room this evening working on a class for the retirement village ladies. Til tomorrow….

One for the boys….

IMG_8682 (Medium)I spent a day last week going through my paper collection, and  as I was tidying, I kept stopping to make cards with the papers i was unearthing, so over the next few days I will show you these – some of the papers may not be available now, but you would be able to get the same result with current papers, the sketch ideas work with most papers. This one was Echo Park For the record  paper collection, and I used Stampin Up Hearts a Flurtter dies to die cut the banner  across the top. The little letters are kaisercraft mini stickers, and the paper already had “boy” splet out – Handy1 Til tomorrow….
