something completely different…

IMG_7607 (Medium)IMG_7608 (Medium)Todays cards are different to the cards I usually make.usally I rely on the paper to dictate my imagings, but today’s cards rely heavily on some little mini dolls that I picked up from a discount store called cheap as chips. There were four in the pack and the only cost a couple of dollars. Once home i matched up each doll with scraps of paper and some stampin up cardstock to create them. The happy birthday is a kaisercraft die.I had great fun creating these ones! This morning i did a quick run to the papercraft shop to collect my bits and pieces for Aprils lessons, and now I am off into the craft room to put the lessons together! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Curiosity 18 and 19.

IMG_7747 (Medium)IMG_7750 (Medium)Well I am glad to say we are back to normal after a few days of Nathan tearing his hair out, and muttering technical things that I didn’t understand! This is the last two cards I have made with kaisercraft Curiosity and I can’t believe I have made 19 cards with this paper, and I enjoyed making every one of them! it’s not often that I make that many with one collection, which just goes to prove I loved this paper. One day I will return to it and finish off the bits and pieces I have left. And the most amazing thing is I have used minimal extra embellishing. Truly a great collection. The two cards shown here use all 6″ pad papers and tags, some fussy cut bits and a collectable ( one of the butterflies).Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Curiosity 16 and 17

I’m back, but still a few glitches as you can see, but it’s better than it was!Hopefully by tomorrow all will be restored.Todays cards are still Kaisercraft Curiosity, and we just have a couple more  do and then will move on. Both cards use the 6″ paper pad, and the images are from a 12 x 12 paper.the only extras on the card on the right are ribbon and a die cut from berry vine die ( kaisercraft). We had a very warm weekend, and a couple of birthdays in the family to celebrate, but I did get into the craft room for  an afternoon and planned out a village lesson.I also squeezed in a visit to Paper Flourish ( I just went for double sided tape and 450 glue) and saw the new Prima papers which i just couldnt resist, so came home with lost of new goodies! til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home, kitchen tea

IMG_7609 (Medium)My sister was going to a kitchen tea, so I made her this card. I shaped the front of the card base like an apron, and then covered it and the inside with graphic 45 Home sweet home paper. I made a pocket for the front of the apron, and didn’t stick down the top edge so that I could pop a recipe card in it – the graphic 45 Home sweet home collection had these in the collection. Ribbon, and lace to finish! The weather here is much milder this week,so I am feeling a lot more comfortable, although it is heating up again for the weekend so I will make the most of the cooler weather while it’s here!Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Curiosity number 12..

IMG_7645 (Medium)Kaisercraft curiosity collection, with a lot of fussy cutting from the 12 x 12 papers and just a ribbon bow for some extra texture. tomorrow will be the final two cards with this collection ( for now, anyway), and they are special card in a box cards.Today is the first day in quite a while that I don’t have any pressing engagements, and it’s lovely to just relax and fritter the time away! I have straightened up my craft desk, things tend to get piled on top of each other on there during the week and then on the weekend I have to spend a little while putting things in their proper place before I can start creating, but that’s done and now I am going to go and contemplate which paper collection I am going to create with today. It’s going to be a lovely day! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Curiosity 10,11….

IMG_7644 (Medium)

Oops! you all saw the 21st card yesterday! I liked it so much I put it up again!!!( technical glitch). The paper collection and matching collectables is Kaisercraft Curiosity, and I did a bit of fussy cutting, and just added a touch of ribbon and lace. I am glad I decided to go back and use the paper I have because I haven’t bought any paper yet this year..( I know!!). So far nothing has grabbed my imagination, but I am hoping that changes when all the american new releases hit our stores.Meanwhile this morning i am off to teach a lesson, so must go and get organised. Til tomorrow….

Farewell kaisercraft Bonjour…

IMG_7616 (Medium)IMG_7617 (Medium)For the next couple of days you will see a last few cards from kaisercraft Bonjour paper collection ( sorry the bottom card is a little blurry – Nathan must have sneezed!).I made a final 1/2 dozen or so before consigning the leftover papers and collectables to the craft fair pile. The top card has some fussy cutting, punched leaves, flowers and a die cut – Couture Creations Albert and Simonnetta, although I dispensed with Albert and just used Simonetta! Love how her name is French – fitted with the theme perfectly! I die cut her first on plain cardstock ( flesh toned) and then again on patterned paper and cut out the bits I wanted. The bottom card is all papers, layers and fussy cutting. I must go and pack my bag – I am off to the retirement village to teach a lesson this afternoon – looking forward to seeing my ladies! Til tomorrow…..

Goodbye to Kaisercraft blae and Ivy..

IMG_7613 (Medium)IMG_7614 (Medium)Today we say goodbye to Kaisercraft Blae and Ivy collection. I took it out for a last play, and the leftover papers in this collection have gone into the pile to sort and sell at Junes craft fair. I love the blue card at the top of the post – I used my Stampin Up bird punch, kaisercraft numbers die set, lace and ribbon for this one and the card below has prima flowers, ribbon, lace and bling.Thats another paper collection played with for the last time and culled! Just at least 100 to go!Now is the time for me to start on my Mothers day cards, so i should be able to get through a few collections in the next few weeks. For now though I am off to Paper Flourish to collect some supplies for March lessons. Til tomorrow…..

Tim Holtz Crazy Birds ( 7,8)

IMG_7582 (Medium)IMG_7583 (Medium)It’s Bird Crazy time !I stamped the bird images onto watercolour paper and coloured with distrss inks, and then fussy cut out. The main reason I wanted to show these cards ( and the two following tomorrow) was for the backgrounds. I taped my watercolour card onto my craft mat with some low tack tape – I used washi tape and this step was done to give the white border around the card. I coloured the whole piece with a light shade of distress ink and sponge, and then stenciled through with darker inks using a variety of stencils. If you don’t have stencils you can use the negative  waste from your die cuts, which I have been known to do! For the bottom card I die cut some letters for the Be Cool. When your inked background is finished remove the washi tape, ( Slowly so the card doesnt rip). Til tomorow….

Kaisercraft Little one, card in a box

IMG_7590 (Medium)These two cards are the reason I had this paper ( kaisercraft Little one) out on my desk the other day. I fussy cut the elephants and owls out of some of the 12 x 12 papers in the collection, and made my boxes ( video coming I promise – they are so simple you will be amazed!) and fixed the fussy cutting onto strips of acetate.they wobble about nicely!I have since had to make more owls cards because the three I initially made have gone – I sent one to my Auntie in Perth and it handled the post perfectly and was only the cost of a normal stamp! Much cooler day here and after the week of humidity we have had it is so welcome. Looking forward to a weekend of playing with my new stampin up supplies! til tomorrow…..
