Last weekend was my sister Kays’ birthday, and I made her this card using Stampin Up Bird Ballad papers , and the associated stamp set, for two reasons…she is a keen photographer of birds, and she is a Stampin up demonstrator and the person I get all my Stampin Up supplies from. I stamped the birds, and coloured them with Copic Markers, and fussy cut some flowers from the designer papers from the Bird Ballad collection. The background paper is also from the same collection. I love this set, and have prepared a lesson for my ladies using it.The time this year is flying by, and my thoughts have now turned to Christmas cards..can’t wait to start creating some cards using new releases..first will be Prima I think.. will keep you posted! Til next time…

Pion Days Gone By..and a couple of ideas…
Todays three cards are actually cards I created for a class a few months ago, but I thought I would post them because I think they show how best to get value out of your stash and purchases. There are only 2 piecesĀ of 12 x 12 patterned paper here, but the papers had 4Ā 6″ x6″ designs on each so I actually had 8 choices altogether.Ā Minature doily dies cut in half allowed me to make scalloped borders, and a little bit of scrap ribbon never goes astray! the greetings a are dies from my collection. Some pretty matting colours – again hunt through your scraps ( and remember if a layer is covered with another layer who is going to know if you have die cut something out of the middle of it?) All my greetings could have been die cut out of the lower mats but you will never know! I loved the simplicity of these cards, thoroughly enjoyed working with this paper. Now i am off to work on some June lessons, til tomorrow…..
Prima Lavender Frost 8 and 9
Here are my final Prima lavender frost cards for now. These two cards use some of the 12 x 12 papers, and the matching flowers from the range. I also added a couple of die cut swirls and a little chipboard piece that was on my craft desk at the time! Tiny scraps of lace came in handy, as did my little handmade bird on the bottom card. I made the little bird with a mold and some “no more gaps” from the hardware shop! This is not the last you will see of my makes with this paper – we will just take a little break from them for now. I have booked my stall for the craft fair on the June long weekend, and so now a lot of my timeĀ will be spent sorting out all my cards ready for sale! Til tomorrow….
stamperia letters and flowers..
Another card today using the gorgeous Stamperia letters and Flowers papers, and some stunning lace! The frame which I painted with Prima Sparks acrylic paint is interesting because I made it with a silicone mold and some No more gaps from the hardware store! it takes a couple of days to dry in the mold but comes out beautifully! I have made a lot of these molded frames and flourishes so you will see them from time to time on my projects. For now though i have picked up my new kaisercraft papers and it is a Christmas range so I am all ready to start the Christmas makes! off I go… til tomorrow….
Another Shabby Chic lesson card..
Todays card is another shabby chic that I taught in a lesson. This was one of my first shabby classes and we were concentrating more on distressing and inking our papers. I love the Shabby chic style but I still have issues ripping my paper. I don’t mind distressing though so baby steps! There was another card in this class which I will post next time. The paper I used here is kaisercraft Pen and Ink, and we coloured the butterflies with weathered wood distress ink,and added flowers and die cut leaves. Today is my day off and I am gathering together lots of bits and pieces to turn into tags that i can use on future cards – I have lots of ideas, and I will show you the results! Til tomorrow….
Couture Creations C’est la Vie..
Before I went Cruising I bought some papers, dies and embossing folders by couture creations from their Cest La vie range. I didn’t get much time to play with all my new buys, but did manageĀ a few quick makes. This card was the first one ..I think you can always tell my first card made from any range as it’s always quite simple and it is really just a testing out of how the colours work together. I added some lace and twill ribbon and one of my gorgeous resin frames which are getting very few in number..If anyone knows where I can get more of these please let me know!Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 2….
I used a piece of patterned paper from the 6″ pad for the first layer of todays’ card, and a strip of paper left on my desk from yesterdays card ( also from the 6″ pad) for a border across the bottom, with a strip of old fashioned lace peeking out from the top of it. The sentiment is from a piece of the Rose Avenue 12 x 12 sheets and this time I trimmed it a little bigger than the frame, and inked around everything with tea dye distress ink. A die cut flourish, flowers and ribbon were the finishing touches.I am spending the morning at the craft desk putting finishing touches to januarys lessons, and I amĀ so happy to report that all the cruise cards are cut,die cut embossed and ready to pack!! I am teaching tonight and looking forward to catching up with my ladies! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 1….
Today we start a new series, Kaisercraft Rose Avenue. This paper collection is so gorgeous! I have made a lot of cards with it already, and have only just now reluctantly packed it away for the moment. We will have a couple of breaks during the posting of this group just in case you guys don’t love it as much as I do! This was one of my first makes….all edges were inked with tea Dye distress ink, and I have used a piece of the 6″ pad and matching collectables. I cut a couple of banner pieces from the script paper, and mounted a sentiment from the pad onto the back of a resin frame. Down in the lower part of the card I mounted one of the sentiments from the pad into the middle of a collectable and added a red ribbon bow. A collectable butterfly and scattering of small flowers to finish! It is very hot here today, 33 C..so everyone in the household is very lethargic, and under the air conditioning ducts is the best place to be! Til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft double z fold Christmas Jewel..
two Double Z fold cards today made with Kaisercraft christmas Jewel, papers and collectables.I am doing a lot of this design this year because these will be the ones I send out to family and friends. Todays top card uses papers from the 6″ pad, a punched reindeer, a strip from the sticker sheet and a Kaisercraft wooden flourish foiled with the go press and foil machine. The lower card also uses papers from the 6″ pad, sticker sheet and a couple of the collectables from the matching pack. I ahve been to work and am home again so i think i will spend a little time this afternoon in the craft room, playing with the new kaiser range I picked up the other day, still christmas, but traditional colours this time! til tomorrow…
Kaisercraft PS I Love You..
A new group today! Kaisercraft PS I Love You.I have only made a few cards with this paper so far ( to be honest I may have misplaced it, but things tend to turn up so I am sure we will see it again eventually)and for the few I made I really only used the papers as backgrounds. These were done while I couldn’t do much crafting because of my shoulder but I have become quite adept at die cutting with my left hand now so there are bits of die cutting on these cards. The dies I used here are Paper Rose brand dies leafy flourish and ornate circle. I made the flower spray, another thing I did while I couldn’t card make – I have quite a few sprays now! I punched the lace doily border added some ribbon and die cut ( kaisercraft)the numbers from glitter cardstock. Til tomorrow….
