A bit of stamping…

IMG_8562 (Medium)IMG_8564 (Medium)For a bit of a change, today i am posting a couple of stamped cards, using some recent purchases from Stampin Up. Top card…Stampin Up background papers, and a great new stamp set called Butterfly Basics – lots of different stamps in this set , some great for background work, which I stamped in yellow, stamped the butterfly in pink and punched it out with a matching butterfly punch ( which I have had for a while)and coloured the flower with prismacolour pencils.Bit of lace, ribbon and bling finished that one. The second card… I used  a big background stamp from stampin up called Something lacy, stamped some green fronds from Butterfly Basics, and again coloured the flower with prismacolour pencils.stamped and fussy cut the butterfly, added some buttons to the top corner, lace and a border punched with my Martha stewart lace border punch.Must find some time to play a bit more with this set – its so versatile! no crafting so far today, but I will spend an hour or two in the craft room tonight after tea just to wind down after a really busy week! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Bestys couture 7 and 8 mens cards….

IMG_0869 (Medium)IMG_0871 (Medium)Today I have managed to pull myself away from the craft room, where I have been on a creative roll, to post these two mens card ideas using Kaisercraft betsys couture papers, and a stampin up stamp set – guy greetings. I added some hessian and a button for some texture. Always like it when I can make a mens card out of a predominately feminine paper collection! For now it’s back to the craft room! til tomorrow…..

Graphic 45 french Country number 6

IMG_8539 (Medium)I made this card for a friend who loves sunflowers. A sunflower card…. the first paper I thought of was Graphic 45 french country. I did a lot of fussy cutting for this one, and layered the flowers up, added a border strip and ribbon, and mounted it all on stampin up marina mist cardstock.all plans have gone out of the window this weekend as my back has let me down and I am reaquainting myself with my hot water bottle. It has improved a bit today so hopefully tomorrow I will be up and about a bit more

Stampin Up Lotus Blossom stamp set

IMG_8560 (Medium)IMG_8561 (Medium)This stamp set from Stampin Up is a three step stamp set which means you stamp the flowers up in layers, laying the solid stamp down first in the lightest colour, and then the second stamp which has more petal detail second and the last layer which is really just highlighting in the darkest colour. The top card , which was inspired by a card I pinned to my pinterest board, uses all stampin up products including ribbon and patterned paper. The bottom cards have some cardstock punched with my martha stewart doily border punch. Nearly time to go to work, so til tomorrow……

Stampin Up Guy Greetings stamp set number 2…

IMG_8557 (Medium)IMG_8553 (Medium)As promised, the bottom card shows what I did with the extra hat and mustache I die cut with Sizzix top hats and Mustaches die set. So simple – only added googly eyes and a stamped banner greeting. the patterned paper was on my table,( not sure what company )and the cardstock was stampin up early espresso. For the top card I took inspiration from pinterest -when I buy a new stamp set I always have a look to see what other people are doing with it, and the first card made is usually a variation on one of these ideas, to get me into the swing of working with the stamp set. I find after the first card the ideas come naturally thick and fast! so, inspired by pinterest, but with a few different elements. I added some twine, stamped in early espresso ink ( stampin Up) and the cardstock is also stampin up – early espresso, sahara sand, and ivory confetti ( sadly the last one is retired, so no longer available). No craft room today – We are off out looking for new floor coverings… til tomorrow….

Stampin Up guy greetings stamp set

IMG_8554 (Medium)I recently bought a stamp set from stampin Up called guy greetings. I haven’t had nearly enough time to play with it as much as I want to, but have managed to make a few cards using it which I will show you all over the next day or two. It’s brilliant for mens cards, and I made this one for My younger son Daniel who will be graduating from University in a couple of months. The cardstock I used was also from Stampin Up – Early espresso, soft suede and very vanilla.I inked around all the edges for a bit of definition, and the hat is die cut from a sizzix die – Top hats and Mustaches ( tomorrow I will show you what i did with the Mustache!)I added a little frim around the hat for a bit of texture.A card is just not finished without texture!Hot,hot hot here today, so although I really feel the need for some relaxation in the craft room after a hard first week back at work, the day may be spent under the air-con duct reading a good book! til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft xo 4 and 5

IMG_8518 (Medium)IMG_8519 (Medium)These are the last two cards I made with Kaisercraft Xo papers. I have put it away for now as what with this collection and the previous simple stories series of cards I have enough wedding, engagement and anniversary cards to last me quite some time.Thinking of that very thing I made the top card a birthday card and punched a border, die cut a doily and added some collectables, ribbon and pearls. the bottom card was the card I gave my husband for Valentines day.The strip across the middle was fussy cut from some of the paper, and by luck I have a border punch ( by EK Success) which punches a very similar border which I added punched out of white cardstock.I just added a heart collectable and small ribbon bow to finish.Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft xo…2 and 3..

IMG_8506 (Medium)IMG_8507 (Medium)Kaisercraft xo paper collection. The top card ( which will be mum and Dads anniversary card next month) has a card front cut from a piece of 12 x 12 paper and some use of the matching collectables, and a ribbon bow. the bottom card also uses a card front from the 12 x 12 paper, and I have popped on a die cut flower which was sitting handily on my desk, a pearl and a die cut heart. This one  I put an engagement verse inside. The cardstock that I used for this whole range of cards is stampin up pool party.Well, it was back to work yesterday, and everything is falling into the work routine, so I must be off or else I will be late for my second day back at work! til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft xo number 1

IMG_8505 (Medium)In the spirit of valentines day yesterday , for the next few days I am going to put up some cards suitable for weddings, engagements, and anniversaries over the next few days made with kaisercrafts’ recent release xo ( funny name!)Todays card was made with a piece of the paper from the 6″ pad, and a collectables from the matching pack. the red heart was punched, and I added a little flower, pearls ( one appears to have dropped off – will have to replace that!)and a ribbon bow. Absolutely too hot here to do anything but laze around reading a good book. Til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 time to flourish 8 and 9,october.

IMG_5735 (Medium)IMG_5736 (Medium)At first glance I  didn’t think I would use any of the October papers in the 12 x 12 pad of Graphic 45 Time to Flourish collection, because it was quite halloween themed which we really don’t get into here in australia, but on closer inspection I spied these gorgeous images of scottish thistles. That is my heritage, and I thought if I could make a couple of male orientated cards, that would be my Dad and my uncles cards sorted for this year. So, no ribbon, lace bling or anything too fancy, just a lot of matting, and a little fussy cutting, and strategic placement of said mats, but I really like how they both turned out,and no paper wasted!Til tomorrow….
