Male card – Birthday/fathers day

Todays card is a male card suitable for a birthday or fathers day. I used Stampin Up cardstock ( not quite navy), and embossing folder – square lattice, and aKaszazz stamp  ( pocket large). I found a scrap of textured brown cardstock for the belt, and stamped the hammer using my Stampin Up totally tools stamp set.I just had to add a couple of brads, and a handmade tag to slide into the pocket and it was finished! The good thing about this card is that you could slide a gift card into the pocket. Today has been spent finalising my books for the end of the financial year, but after tea I will be in the craft room planning out my next vilage lesson. Til tomorrow….

Established elegance

As Mothers day is just a few days away now ( my list is on the fridge boys!) I thought I would post this one which I made using Melissa francis paper – Rose, and 2 Stampin up stamp sets – Element of style which I stamped  with close to cocoa ink ( Stampin Up) to frame a border around my main image which was from the Established Elegance set. I used another stamp from that set to make the tag.The cardstock was Stampin Up Blushing Bride, and I added a lovely big bow with a Stampin Up Vintage brad and a strip of lace to give the whole card a vintage look.I have made a very similar card for my friends daughter who is turning 16 – I hope I didn’t send her this one – I am starting to have my doubts- Oh dear…..A big hello and welcome to all my new subscribers, til tomorrow…..

prima meadow lark 2

I had a lovely morning with my ladies over at paper flourish – I am not sure i should get paid to have so much fun! Todays card is continuing my Prima meadow lark series, and I have also used the matching chipboards. I used my Martha Stewart lace doily punch, and some lovely ribbon and liquid pearls to finish. The cardstock is stampin up Wisteria wonder. Now I  have some ideas for mothers day cards with this paper so its off to the craft room while I have them fresh in my mind! Til tomorow…..

Upsy Daisy – sponged background

I am still  practising sponged backgrounds, but I thought i would show my progress. One day I will master this technique! All cardstock is stampin Up and the stamp used is  also Stampin Up – Upsy daisy.I heat embossed the stamp image in black, so far so good, and I have learnt not to be too heavy handed with the sponging and layer the colours slowly, but not quite there yet although I do quite like the effect on the bottom card, looks like clouds – that was purely accidental and I doubt I could repeat it!I am off to the craft room now and looking forward to some relaxing creating time after a busy day at work. Til tomorrow….

Charlottes Dream 4 – teacup card

I have made a few of these teacup shaped cards now, and they are stunningly easy to do. Just draw your shape onto folded cardstock -( fold at the top) and cut out and decorate. I have used Kaisercraft Charlottes dream Paper, Pool party Stampin Up cardstock, and a couple of Martha Stewart punches to decorate this one, but they are great to use up all those strips of patterned paper that we always seem to be left with! Tonight I will be making another one as I have an order for one to do. Til tomorrow….

Hunt and gather re-visited

While I had Kaisercraft Hunt abd Gather paper out making the previous post card I quickly whizzed up this camping card. The cardstock is Stampin Up soft suede, and the sentiment is a stampin up one too.I taught a lesson this morning, and I have spent a little time this afternoon in the craft room doing some girly fairy cards ( I am having a little break from Mothers day cards). Back to work tomorrow, so a little less creating will be happening! Til tomorrow….

The Open Sea

While we are on a bit of a roll with mens cards, I thought I would post this one I made, using all stampin Up supplies. The stamp set is called the open sea, and I used sahara sand, cherry cobbler and not quite navy cardstock, and the same in ink. I tied some bakers twine down one side. A day off tomorrow and I am certainly looking forward to that! I will be doing a fair ammonut of crafting – I have a Mothers day cards marathon to attend, and a couple of orders to fulfill. Shopping tonight, so no crafting tonight.. Til tomorrow….

Howdy doody 3

On todays card  have made the greeting the focus of the card. I used Stampin Up pool party and blushing bride cardstock, and My Minds Eye Howdy Doody patterned paper. The punches were Martha stewart doily lace, butterflys, and fern leaves. I added some lace and liquid pearls, and rubbed a couple of the butterflies over a versamark ink pad and brushed them with gold perfect pearls ( powder) which gave them a lovely gold colour, and I will be trying this again with my other colours in the perfect pearls range. The Stamp set I used was Stampin Up elementry Elegance, and I gold embossed the frame, and stamped the greeting inside it. Over the past couple of days I have been making male cards, so today I gladly got out the lace, ribbon and bling and had a great time creating some really feminine cards, and I will be back in the craft room tonight as I have a couple of unfinished cards on my table…. Til tomorrow….

Howdy doody 2

As I mentioned yesterday, this is my favourite paper – My minds Eye Howdy Doody  – at the moment, and I didn’t want to cut into this piece, so I’ve let the paper speak for itself ! I die cut the heart with my x – cut hearts die, and went right around the edge with lace, gathering as I went. The greeting is a stampin up stamp from my blessed Mother set, stamped onto stampin Up pool party cardstock and punched out with a stampin up decorative punch. i just added a little kindyglitz to highlight some flowers, and a few drops of white liquid pearls. Spent this morning with Mum at the shops, stocking up on lots of lovely lace, and then trying on ( and buying!) some new clothes – she is a very bad influence – I am sure she thought she was on a commission from the dress shop! a lovely day…. til tomorrow….

Field flowers 3

Here is todays  card, still continuing with my new Stampin Up Field flowers stamp set. I did get the idea for this card from a magazine – I thought I have all the papers they used – I can do that, then as I started it totally changed… which is why I very rarely copy ideas! The papers used are Authentique Uncommon, and I stamped my image directly onto the patterned paper with basic black ink. The cardstock is Stampin Up sahara sand and very Vanilla, and I added lace and white liquid pearls – the best invention… Another very hot day here – 37C again ( thats over 100 F for my overseas visitors) and impossible to craft in this heat. The air conditioner has been making horrible noises and we prayed it would make it through the night, which it did, only just, and this morning saw my husband up on the roof changing a fan belt – crisis averted, it’s going like a little beauty now thankfully. I am off to the Market tomorrow, will be hot, but I am looking forward to seeing my regular customers there. Til tomorrow….
