While on the theme of all things male, here is a quick card I made using Simple Stories patterned paper and some stampin up cardstock.A bit of fussy cutting of the elements from the papers, and just layered it all together – a very quick and easy card as everything is there for you on the papers! Til tomorrow….
Today I have my mind on young male cards as I have to make one for my nephews birthday, so thought I would post one I made earlier! I used Kaisercraft Attitude paper for the background, and stamped ( Deep Red stamp company) a drum set and just highlighted the image with a gold pen.A bit of paper piercing, and hand sewing and some assorted twine to finish. The nephew in question is not a drummer, so this one won’t do for him, so it’s back to the craft room for me! til tomorrow….
A bit of an experiment today – I thought I would try my hand at using a mask. This one is a kaisercraft cogs mask which I inked over with distress inks and a sponge. The paper is from Kaisercraft Attitude 6″ pad, and I die cut some more cogs using my spellbinders sprightly sprockets die. I painted them with Viva silver metallic paint, and used craftworks candii on them when I had affixed them to the card ( look like brads don’t they!) I distressed and inked all edges of the card, and finished with a stampin up sentiment.I also had quite a mess to clean up afterwards, but thoroughly enjoyed myself making this teen boys card!Til tomorrow….
On my recent cleaning up foray, I stumbled upon a Kaisercraft 6″ pad that I hadn’t used yet – it’s called Attitude, and it’s perfect for teen boy cards, so before I put it away I quickly made this card. I stamped some Bitty Grunge stamps by Stampers Anonymous on the grid paper, and cut a tag and stamped it too, matted everything with black cardstock and added a tim Holtz sprocket gear and game spinner to attach the tag to the card. Maybe this weekend I will have an oppurtunity to make some cards with this pad! Til tomorrow…
This is the last male card that I will show for a little while – we will have a break from mens cards tomorrow. The paper is Simple Stories Awesome, and I used the 12 x 12 sheets. All the images were on the sheets, it was just a matter of cutting out the bits that I wanted. The stars are from the matching sticker sheet, and I distressed and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz rusty Hinge ink. The cardstock is Stampin Up Cajun craze. Tomorrow something girly! Til tomorrow….
O.K. – I have lost track of the number in this series so I am calling it number 5…. The paper is Simple Stories Awesome, and here I have combined it with my Lacey Pennant spellbinders for the banner across the top, and I used a matching border sticker across the bottom. I stuck on a couple of Tim Holtz idea -ology sprocket gears, and distressed and inked all the edges.I taught a class over at paper flourish today – always enjoy my time with my ladies – and while there saw the new graphic 45 papers – a ladies diary collection – and couldn’t resist buying lots of it so tonight I am hoping tto spend a little time in the craft room creating with it – Til tomorrow….
Here is my last card in my teen boy series, this time using the new Bo Bunny Weeekend Market papers – I love the rich colours of this paper and can’t wait to do some more with it -and my papermania happy birthday stamp which I stamped twice onto patterned paper and fussy cut out a few letters – and outlined a couple more with a marker. The stars are cut with my cricut and the wild card cartridge, and the cardstock is Stampin Up Cherry cobbler. I am busy this week making some cards to start filling those market boxes..Til tomorrow….
I think out of all the cards I am asked to make teen boy cards are the hardest, so over the next few days I will show some deigns I have been working on which should covers all the bases! Of course if they are into sport it’s not so hard, but nowadays there doesn’t seem so much sports played, sad really…. anyway … I am sure you have seen me use this stamp before – it’s from a great papermania (Nostalgia) set which also has a lot of sports images on it, and I have teamed it with a guitar stamp and drum set stamp that I have had for so long I can’t remember the brand name but Snag em rings a bell. The paper I have used is from a great 6″ pad called Year – o- graphy by Simple Stories, the patterns are great for these designs. I have cut assorted banners, and used bakers twine and brads for texture. The cardstock is Stampin Up Soft Suede and cajun craze – a colour I don’t use nearly enough. One last push tonight on the orders that keep coming through, and then back to lesson planning…. Til tomorrow….
