Kaisercraft Oh so lovely..not a card!

_MG_6379 (Medium) My Cousin has headed off to England to spend a couple of years working over there, and I made her this frame to remind her how special she is! The paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely, the flowers were Prima, but I have had them a long time, The acetate butterfly is from a kaisercraft sheet and I had the frame in my craft stash. I have just returned from the dentist where I had a filling replaced and I am wishing I had my cup of coffee before I went there.. I am off to look for a straw and then tackle the final bit of packing for the cruise. Til tomorrow…..

kaisercraft Oh so lovely 2…

_MG_6378 (Medium)I have had this paper for a while, but I don’t think I had done anything with it until I stumbled upon it in the craft room a couple of weeks ago.. I wonder how many more collections are hiding in there waiting to be stumbled upon? I have started teaching some Shabby Chic classes at work but I am only a beginner myself so I just practised a bit on this card. I distressed all my edges, and then inked with Tea dye distress ink, and up in the left hand corner I used some Nuvo Glitter paste through a stencil just to see how that would work..not badly as it turns out! I added some random flowers in the lower left corner and some of the collectables from the collection to finish.  I received all my boarding information today for the cruise I am teaching on next week, craft suitcases are packed, not long now!! til tomorrow…..

another stenciled background..

_MG_6370 (Medium) Todays card is made with pieces of cardstock that I was experimenting with. I took some white cardstock and stenciled through a Kaisercraft stencil with Liquitex iridescent medium. It leaves a lovely pearly pattern on my cardstock. To make the card I just used whatever was on my craft desk which happened to be some Prima bits and pieces and a die cut fence and white ribbon. This morning we went and picked up a new puppy who we have called daisy, and at the moment she is getting to know our other puppy Luna. They will be best mates, I am sure, at the moment they are running around the back yard! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Oh so Lovely revisited..

_MG_6369 (Medium)There is a story behind today’s card…When my son Daniel was home at Christmas he mentioned that a friend in his office wished she could have come home with him so that she could spend some time in my craft room and learn how to make cards, so before Daniel went back to Sydney I made up a bit of a kit for her and this card was the prototype of the kit I sent for her to put together. She has since made it and sent me a photo of her proudly holding it! In two weeks today I will be sailing the blue seas, but when I get back I will send her some more kits. Anyway, I should mention that this paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so lovely ( an old collection but beautiful)and the associated collectables. For now I am off to prepare tea, til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Romantique…shabby..

_MG_4253 (Medium) I really haven’t had the time to play with this collection, but I have made a few for you to see. It’s the Kaisercraft Romantique collection and it lends itself beautifully to the whole Shabby Chic style, a style I will embrace once I get over the whole ripping my paper hang up I have! Here, I have layered a few of the 12 x 12 patterned papers, and fussy cut an acetate butterfly – in this collection there is a whole sheet of these butterflies and I love them! The leaves are die cut with creative expressions dies, and I inked around every edge with Tea Dye distress ink. I tied a big bow and on top of that I glued a Prima flower with dangly bits that I have been holding onto for ages! The top layer of patterned paper has a lacey print but at the bottom of it I added my own lace in a taupe colour ( Stampin Up lace). I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas break, with family and friends, I can’t believe that’s Christmas over for another year! we still have our son home for another few days before he flys back to Sydney next week so the celebrations continue on here ! Til tomorrow….

Nuvo Glimmer Paste!!

_MG_0604 (Medium) A couple of weeks ago we got some new Nuvo Glimmer Paste into the shop, and I couldn’t resist having a bit of a play with it!I used the clear glimmer paste and brushed it through a stencil to create the glittery background on this card. I love Glimmer paste! It is really shiny and glittery, and dries really quickly. I used the gold glimmer paste to paint the chipboard bird, and the background paper on this card is Kaisercraft Rose Avenue. I added flowers, ribbon and lace to finish. I thought I had finished my cruise cards this week but they asked for another class so I have been working on that and today I am off to the craft room to make a couple of birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 7

_MG_0622 (Medium)Kaisercraft Rose Avenue papers from the 6″ pad, with the matching collectables, and an acetate butterfly that was found on my desk…I have used a couple of flowers, some lace and ribbon and I die cut a Kaisercraft border die. The green leaves are die cut with a Sue Wilson die and the white leaves are punched with a Stampin Up punch. To give the leaves some movement I used a flower shaper tool ( a tool with a little ball on the end and a new favourite tool for me!) to curl the leaves a little bit. Here we will take a little break from the Kaisercraft Rose Avenue collection and find something else to look at for a few days before coming back to it later …In the craft room I have been jumping from one thing to another, I seem to have lots of projects on the go, and my desk has disappeared under the weight of lots of on-going projects so it is time to organise myself!Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 2….

_MG_2611 (Medium) I used a piece of patterned paper from the 6″ pad for the first layer of todays’ card, and a strip of paper left on my desk from yesterdays card ( also from the 6″ pad) for a border across the bottom, with a strip of old fashioned lace peeking out from the top of it. The sentiment is from a piece of the Rose Avenue 12 x 12 sheets and this time I trimmed it a little bigger than the frame, and inked around everything with tea dye distress ink. A die cut flourish, flowers and ribbon were the finishing touches.I am spending the morning at the craft desk putting finishing touches to januarys lessons, and I am  so happy to report that all the cruise cards are cut,die cut embossed and ready to pack!! I am teaching tonight and looking forward to catching up with my ladies! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 1….

_MG_2599 (Medium)Today we start a new series, Kaisercraft Rose Avenue. This paper collection is so gorgeous! I have made a lot of cards with it already, and have only just now reluctantly packed it away for the moment. We will have a couple of breaks during the posting of this group just in case you guys don’t love it as much as I do! This was one of my first makes….all edges were inked with tea Dye distress ink, and I have used a piece of the 6″ pad and matching collectables. I cut a couple of banner pieces from the script paper, and mounted a sentiment from the pad onto the back of a resin frame. Down in the lower part of the card I mounted one of the sentiments from the pad into the middle of a collectable and added a red ribbon bow. A collectable butterfly and scattering of small flowers to finish! It is very hot here today, 33 C..so everyone in the household is very lethargic, and under the air conditioning ducts is the best place to be! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Letters to Santa 15….

_MG_2631 (Medium)Another card made with Kaisercraft letters to santa, with the addition of a poinsetta die cut with paper Rose Poinsetta die, and a little branch of holly from a Kaisercraft die.I die cut an oval, edged it with tea dye ink matted some craft cardstock behind, and popped on a collectable from the kaisercraft letters to santa collection. The Noel sentiment is from the matching 6″ pad. It’s been a busy week and a busy morning, and I am aiming to clear the dining table of overspill projects from the craft room this morning, restore a bit of order! Til tomorrow….
