Kaisercraft Full Bloom lesson cards..

_MG_0030 (Medium)_MG_9986_MG_9985.JPGOn todays post are three cards I made for a lesson I taught at paper Flourish. We did lots of fussy cutting( of course!), a little bit of layering and added some rhinestones for a bit of bling. I haven’t done much crafting for myself since I got back from my cruise, I have been busily creating card classes for the next couple of months. I am nearly caught up and looking forward to using some of the new supplies I have been collecting. til tomorrow….

Meerkats!

_MG_0009 (Medium) I am back from my cruise, which went really well, and I met many new and keen crafters in my classes – we had great fun! The weather was terrific and the seas were calm – always a bonus. Now it is back home, and back to work, and of course back to my craft room, where all my projects at the moment are for upcoming classes. Meanwhile today’s cards are 2 very quick cards I put together for my son and my nephews birthdays. they  are both fans of meerkats so when I saw this stamp set from Art impressions I knew straight away it would be perfect for them, this year and probably for quite a few years to come, used in different ways. I only lightly coloured the meerkat in the forefront of the card this time, just with a little bit of distress ink, and I hand drew the frame around the stamped background image. Til tomorrow…..

Mens cards

_MG_0013 (Medium)_MG_0015 (Medium)I have trouble making mens cards. I think it’s because with female cards, flowers, butterflies, and birds are universal, whereas with men there isn’t a universal fit. Not all men like football, or fishing etc, so when I saw these tool dies from kaisercraft I thought I could make a few mens cards with them. These cards were actually in a class I taught. We did some embossing with kaisercraft embossing folders to add a little texture, and I also used a cogs die on the lower card.  I designed the card on the top left to look like a tool box. It is just a basic stepper card, with strips of cardstock to represent the drawers. I got back from my cruise on Thursday, and yesterday was spent grocery shopping and washing clothes. After beautiful weather on the cruise and calm seas I have come back to the middle of an extreme heatwave and it is a shock to the system! My classes on board the ship were well attended and I met many lovely ladies, and gentlemen! I havent yet ventured into the craft room, but by tomorrow I will be creating again – I have itchy fingers! Til tomorrow….

Three more Prima Lavender Frost cards..

_MG_9989_MG_9991mg_9996.jpgToday I have three more cards made with the gorgeous lavender Frost paper collection from Prima. These were made with papers from the 6 x 6 pad, the 3 x 4 journaling cards, some of the matching flowers Prima released with this range, and few odd die cuts laying on my craft table. There is a metal finding on the lower card, some lace on the top card, and I did do a little fussy cutting from the papers! I love this paper, and as we speak I have some more cards in various stages on my craft desk waiting for finishing touches. I have also used it in a mega class I am doing in March at paper flourish. This week I picked up my Prima poetic rose paper collection, and have enjoyed some fussy cutting while watching TV in preparation for some cardmaking this afternoon. I am not sure if I will be back here before my cruise on thursday…depends how the packing goes, but if I don’t get back I will see you all in two weeks! Til then …..

Mintay Birdsong 1, 2, and 3…

_MG_0027 (Medium)_MG_0028 (Medium)_MG_0029 (Medium)Todays three cards are made with Mintay Birdsong. Mintay is a polish paper company that i have recently been introduced to, we are using their collections a lot in classes, and I have not yet seen a collection that didn’t inspire me. The papers have lots of fussy cutting elements which is my favourite thing, but the top card has no fussy cutting , just layering of papers and a frame , flowers and flourish to decorate…(I did fussy cut the butterfly…couldn’t help myself). The second and third cards have more fussy cutting as well as some flowers and rose gold flourish die cutting. Tomorrow I am teaching some cards i designed using this paper collection and there is lots  and lots of fussy cutting involved in those cards…the ladies will love it! We will sit, relax, and snip away while we catch up with each others news..I am looking forward to it. Til tomorrow…..

Prima lavender Frost..1 and 2..

_MG_0003 (Medium)_MG_0005 (Medium)So many beautiful paper collections, so little crafting time! Today’s cards are made with Prima lavender frost range. Starting with the lower card,I layered up paper from the 6″ paper pad, and a printed vellum piece ( which was in a pack of the flowers that were released with the collection), a journaling card from the 3 x 4 lavender frost journaling cards, some fussy cutting from papers, and various flowers and leaf die cuts. The resin frame was a seven paper Dolls frame.  For the top card I cut some banners from leftover strips, and added a metal finding, and in this case the frame was one I made with a mold and some no more gaps filler from the hardware shop! I just ran over it with some Nuvo Fresh Copper mousse on my finger.

Mintay 7th heaven..

img_0957img_0959Have you all seen Mintay Paper collections? they are gorgeous and I am lucky enough to work in a craft store that stocks them…needless to say when they arrive (it’s like Christmas at work when boxes of stock arrive!) I am beside myself and always end up taking one of everything home! The collection I have used here is called 7th heaven, and we did an all day class at work with them last november, and this is one of the cards I made with my leftovers. A hint of lace, a metal piece cut in half and just peeking out from the oval die cut, and lots of lovely fussy cutting and flowers. Once made I realised this card was not going to fit in an envelope, so I sat down with my ruler and worked out measurements to make a box. I cut a window in the box and backed it with acetate so that I can still see the pretty card! I have made quite a few of these cards in boxes now, and really love the idea of giving them when I am  giving cash or a gift voucher for a birthday. I am so glad to say that mum and I brought dad home from hospital yesterday after 2 weeks of worry, a little more frail, but in good spirits and he will build himself back up now that he is home. Thank you all for your wishes and concern. Til tomorrow…..

Go Press and Foil cards..

_mg_8334 (medium)_mg_8335 (medium)Todays two cards highlight the Go Press and Foil machine, which I used to foil the Happy Birthday. I did these two cards for a class that I taught,  and incorporated some die cutting with Seven paper Doll dies. On the top card I cut up one of the filigreed die cut squares to create fancy borders. Glitter cardstock was used for the leave and flourish dies, and then just added some pretty flowers. I have been missing from here this week as My dad is in hospital and I have been busy visiting him, and working in between. He is still in hospital, having many tests, so my busy life is ongoing, I will get back here as often as time permits , Til then……

Stampin Up Blended Seasons Stamp Set…

_mg_0023 (medium)_mg_0026 (medium)My sister gave me a stamp set by Stampin Up before Christmas and I finally found the time to ink it up, with Archival ink stamped onto watercolour paper, and colour with my zig watercolour brushes in a few different colourways. Once I had experimented with colour all that was left to do was to turn my images into cards. I just used bits and pieces of odds and ends to make these three cards.  I have been missing for a few days because I am trying to get ahead in my lesson planning as I lose a little bit of time when I go on my cruise next month. So looking forward to meeting new ladies ( and some gents) in my cruise classes!A day off today, so all the craft gear is out and I am off to do some more crafting! Til tomorrow….

Pion Days Gone By continued….

IMG_8018 (Large)IMG_8020 (Large)IMG_8022 (Large)Here are todays cards, still with Pion Days Gone By collection, beautiful soft colours in this range, and I have just added some lace and ribbon with a little fancy die cut borders . These cards didn’t need anything else, they have a lovely vintage feel about them! Its very warm here just now, I have been lazily playing in the craft room, but also enjoying the season and spending most of my free time with family. I have worked a few days in between and we have been busy putting out all our new ranges.. some gorgeous papers coming through from Mintay , Photoplay and Prima – so lots of ideas buzzing around in my head! Meantime, til tomorrow…..
