Kaisercraft Ooh La La 15 and 16..

IMG_2744 (Medium)IMG_2747 (Medium)Two cards today, made with kaisercraft Ooh La La, and some white space.I don’t often leave white space on my cards, but I like these and will experiment with more white space cards in the future. There is a mixture of fussy cut images, and collectables on both cards, with a little ribbon, a lace flower and just a couple of flowers.I spent a lovely afternoon in the craft room yesterday, I did miss crafting while I was away. This afternoon I am popping in there to make Mum and Dad a 61st wedding anniversary card and I have been doing a little tidying as I go too.Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Ooh La La 14….

IMG_2742It appears we are back to some Kaisercraft Ooh La La makes!I drew out a tea cup template and cut it out of some of the patterned paper from the 6″ pad,and decorated with orange ric-rac,ribbon, Green Tara flowers lace and a collectable butterfly from the matching set.The sentiment was from the 6″ pad, and I mounted it on some blue cardstock. Things are back to normal here, all unpacking and washing done, caught up with Mum and Dad, inspected the garden, and today I am looking forward to sitting in the craft room after nearly 2 weeks away from it! Til tomorrow….

All about my crafty trip today!

Hello! We are back safe and sound after a terrific cruise around Tasmania. The craft classes I ran went smoothly ( the same can’t be said of the first couple of days at sea which were very rough!) I met 80 lovely ladies while teaching my four classes, and we had great fun.The ship ( the Astor) was lovely, small by cruise ship standards with 640 guests.Instead of cards today I am going to pop up a few photos..This photo is me on our way to the trial evacuation with my life jacket, which we all had to come to grips with putting on.IMG_6914IMG_6953IMG_6934The next 3 photos are Pt Arthur. the little orange dinghy was our tender boat from the cruise ship to dry land ( and it did take a little while to get our land legs working after 3 days at sea, we all looked like we had enjoyed the red wine a little too much!)IMG_6972IMG_6994IMG_7005The next group of 3 photos are of Hobart.A view from Mt Nelson, and 2 gorgeous photos of the botanical gardens. I loved the gardens and could have spent all day exploring them. An hour isnt enough time there! IIMG_7066IMG_7063 will have to go back to see all of them. The last two photos are of Burnie, one coming into the dock and the other taken from the bus tour we did of the surrounding countryside, stopping at a chocolate factory ( lovely afternoon tea), cheese factory and winery.By getting on the bus tour we saw a lot of the surrounding country, and it was beautiful. There were pockets of dry fields as it is the end of summer, but lots of greenery too. So thats a bit of an overview of my trip, I hope the photos come out in the correct order! Apologies if they don’t. Next post will be back to cards! Til tomorrow…..IMG_6876

The last two Kaisercraft Cherry tree Lane cards

img_2736-mediumimg_2737-mediumThis is my last blog for a couple a weeks while I go on my Cruise. We leave tomorrow so today has been a mad rush to finish packing, and do some shopping for the menfolk ( they have their menu plan written out so they are quite organised!). Today is a good day to finish up with my Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane collection. I have enjoyed making with this collection and I do still have some left, so we will revisit it at some stage. The top card is layers of papers from the 6″ pad, with a collectable , lace, ribbon and a hat pin ( by Prima). the lower card  has a die cut Ornate circle ( paper rose) and a collectable. That’s all from me for now, see you all in 2 weeks!

img_2735-mediumMost of the previous cards made with this collection ( Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane) were made with the blue tones of paper, now we have a few made with the green tones. The cardstock is Stampin Up, as is the pleated ribbon, and the background paper is from the 6″ pad. The focus is on a card from the pull apart sheet, and I added a prima and green tara flower and some punched leaves.Oh, and some lace! I am officially on holidays, and have spent today stewing pears, we have an abundance of them so the freezer will be quite full. Pear crumble all winter! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 8

img_2733-medium-2Todays Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane card is a side stepper card. I have done a You-tube clip on how to measure and cut/fold this style of card, on the right hand side bar of the blog you will see You-tube…click on that and you will see my you-tube channel with this and many other little clips I have done.Meanwhile for this one I have used… one of the pull apart cards  from the 12 x 12 sheet,a couple of the matching collectable, prima and green tara flowers, kaisercraft leaf die,a small piece of a border from the sticker sheet, and a small piece of the dotty paper ( 12 x 12). I also did some fussy cutting for the stepper part of the card. The big news here is that I have left my job at kmart Aust.Yesterday was my last day after 36 years, and my workmates gave me a lovely send off. When I return from the cruise I will be working at Paper Flourish, the store where I have been teaching for 6 1/2 years. I will be surounded with crafty goodness! How will I contain myself? I am so looking forward to this new chapter! Til tomorrow…

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 7..

img_2732-mediumWorking with the blue shades from the Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane collection,I came up with this one which uses some dies and punches to make the flower, and a very old button from my collection to highlight the tag. The papers are from the 6″ pad,and I have layered a couple of the pull apart tags inking around all the edges with Tea Dye distress ink.I spent a lovely hour over at Paper Flourish today, browsing, chatting and buying, I bought a few more copic markers as I am trying to build my collection, and picked up some lovely papers from Bo Bunny called Petal Lane ( gorgeous papers in shades of soft pink  and yellow with pops of black) and a new Kaisercraft 6″ paper pad called Hanami Garden which is a Japanese inspired collection. Now I am off to the craft room to create! Til tomorrow….

img_2731-mediumI love the simplicity of this one! Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane 6″ pad and the 12 x 12 pull apart sheet from the same collection. That’s it ( except a ribbon bow and some inking around the edges).Even the shaped bracket and the sentiment came from the 6″ pad.Quick post today, as I am off to put my feet up for a minute after a busy day at work, and then think about what to cook for tea! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 4..

img_2730-mediumThe fourth card in my Cherry Tree lane series . Still working with the blue tones , this one has a collectable, and a piece from the pull apart sheet ( A little image in the left hand corner ) and a layering piece from the 6″ pad. The cardstock is from Stampin Up, and I used some very dainty lace, ribbon and a few pearls.Another lovely cool day here, and after our roast lunch am packing all the cruise crafty stuff to make sure my suitcase is big enough! til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 3..

img_2726-mediumAs well as the greens and muted pinks and reds , there was also blue tones in this collection, so I separated out the colours and the next couple of cards are made with the blue tones.  I used the 6″ pad  for the background piece, as well as the die cut bracket, and inked all the edges with tea Dye ink. The bird image is another image from the matching 12 x 12 pull apart sheet. The flowers are from Green Tara, and I punched out some leaves. This card is one of my favourites because I love the mother bird feeding the chick, and it makes a lovely Mothers day card. Our weather here in Adelaide has cooled right down, and we have a little bit of rain too, it’s glorious!I am meeting up with my sister this afternoon to go over our excursion choices for our cruise…it’s really happening!  Til tomorrow….
