Today is the final Kaisercraft ooh La La card for now, and I used a card base that I had picked up from a craft fair quite some time ago. My mantra for this year is to use some of the items that I have been hoarding and this is the first! The card is a gatefold design with the extra panel with the trellis design. I guess we could recreate this if we had a trellis die..might have to look into that as I quite like the effect…The papers are from the 6″ pad, and some collectables and fussy cutting there too! I have spent the weekend decluttering my craft room and have quite a bit in a corner of the sitting room ready for some sort of sale sometime soon.Although my craft room looks much tidier you really can’t see where I have taken things from. I have the top few shelves of my paper shelving dedicated to ” use it this year or lose it” papers so you will see some new ideas for older papers throughout the year.Til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 Cafe Parisian 1 and 2…

Today we start a new series – Graphic 45 Cafe Parisian. I purchased a few sheets of the 12 x 12 of this collection and relied on fussy cutting. A lot!. The first card was just an easing in to get a feel for the papers ,so very simple. The cardstock and trim are from Stampin Up. The second card is much more interesting, with some inking of edges and layering fussy cutting and a bit of kindyglitz. This paper is so very colourful and busy it really doesn’t need much embellishing, just layering is enough. The whole time I was working on this series I wanted cake!I am easing back into the craft room – still no die cutting, but fussy cutting and punching is fine so I have rediscovered all my punches. Isn’t it funny how some things go in and out of vogue..let’s start a movement to bring back punches! They are so portable, quick ( no big machinery required) and with a bit of imagination you can get the same layered effect as dies! The cards Nathan and I photographed this morning will show you all how I re-employed my punches, but we wil finish this series first. Til tomorrow….
Kaisecraft Ooh La La..!.
This is the first card I made with kaisercraft Ooh La La paper collection. I love this collection and bought the Paper Flourish Class in a box because it had all the 12 x 12 papers as well as a lot of other bits and pieces that match in with the papers. I also purchased the 6″ pad and another pack of collectables to extend the set.I am so glad I did because it’s the only collection I have been able to use in my craft room while I am not able to use my shoulder. I haven’t needed to do any die cutting as there is enough in the collection to keep things interesting. Anyway this one uses papers from the 6″ pad,a sentiment and ric rac from the box,and some punched leaves and flowers from Kaisercraft and Green Tara.Til tomorrow….
Great Grand Daughter cards
Before I went on Holidays I had an order for 6 Great grand daughter cards, so I thought I would show you all 3 of them…the main embellishment on all of them are images from a 3d sheet which I fussy cut and layered up, and used corresponding colours to complete. All the papers used were just scraps from my stash, and I had to print out the great grand daughter on my printer as I have no stamps or stickers for great grand daughter! It’s a lovely day here, I have been sitting in the garden, but now I am off to the craft room to do some tidying up..til tomorrow….
Card box card..
Today will be my last post for about a week, as I am off to visit my son in Sydney! It is also the last card I made using Kaisercraft True Romance paper collection. I have a you-tube clip ( see link on right hand side of blog) to show you the measurements for my box card, and I have just used the papers, inking around the edges of all the panels with tea dye distress ink, and added a bow. All the other pieces were fussy cut fromthe papers. I spent a little time in the craft room this morning, hoping to prepare my classes for december, but the shoulder is still not the best even with yesterdays cortosone injection, so I have had to give up, and will sit and rest it for a while with a good book! Til next week…
A quick card..

While I had the Kaisercraft true Romance papers out practising my pleating skills I made a very quick card to pop in the box ready for next year(!),I know but I go where the inspiration leads me..Just two pieces of layered paper , inked around the edges with tea dye ink,a fussy cut flower, and one of the tags that came with the collection.A bow to tie in the colours of the butterfly and bird, and the little doily under the tag and this was a very quick make.I am still nursing my sore shoulder, off to the Dr shortly because it has to be better before I fly over to Sydney at the end of the week to visit my son who works over there!Til tomorrow….
Another Pleating technique
After mastering the previous pleating technique, I stepped it up and tried aone that was a little more difficult. Lots of measuring on this one, but well worth the effort for the finished product.I am just hoping as I sit here that i have filed away the measurements! As the paper I used was so close to the background layer I inked the edges of the pleats to define it a little bit.The flowers I added were from Kaisercraft and i added a punched leaf and a ribbon bow to finish. The paper collection is Kaisercraft True Romance, and older release ,but one of my favourites.I have a really sore shoulder today, and not much use of my right arm, so I think the craft room is out of the question this weekend, looks like a reading weekend for relaxation! Til tomorrow…
Kaisercraft True Romance pleating fun..
I wanted to explore a little bit with pleating techniques, and Kaisercraft true Romance papers were perfect for this technique as the front and backs of the papers are so pretty!I started with a card base made with Stampin Up cardstock, layered two pieces of paper on top of that. A sticker from the same collection covered the join after i had added my pleated piece of paper. A bit of measuring was involved here, but now that i have worked out the measurements any more card I make like this will be easier. Use a piece of copy paper while you are experimenting to save your lovely papers!.A bow and tag finished todays card. Til tomorrow….
Girls card ideas..

A quick break from Christmas cards today while I show you a few cards I made with a couple of sheets of Pebbles Winter Wonderland that I picked up.The top photo shows two cards that I made with a gatefold, covering all panels with the patterned paper, and the Princesses from one of the shet of paper, and the bottom photo shows the more traditional fold and for the focal point I glued on some little dolls that I picked up in our local cheap shop. I die cut the happy birthday’s out of glitter cardstock. Seeing these cards again has just reminded me that I have an order for 3 cards to do this weekend, for great grand daughters. I hope I still have some of those little dolls left because they will be perfect!Til tomorrow….
found another Belle Vie card!
Oops! I was all ready to move on to some christmas cards when I found one more card made with Julie Nutting Belle Vie paper (I only purchased 2 papers from this collection)This actually was the last one I made using up the last of the paper.I die cut a scalloped rectangle , and 2 butterflies, inked everything, and added the last of my bead string ( I have bought some more – Kaisercraft make it now, but the length that I have been using came off the dress of a vintage doll)ribbon, bow and sequins to decorate.Early finish from work today, so a bit of time to put my feet up! til tomorrow….
