Stampin Up Bird Ballad..

IMG_1430Last weekend was my sister Kays’ birthday, and I made her this card using Stampin Up Bird Ballad papers , and the associated stamp set, for two reasons…she is a keen photographer of birds, and she is a Stampin up demonstrator and the person I get all my Stampin Up supplies from. I stamped the birds, and coloured them with Copic Markers, and fussy cut some flowers from the designer papers from the Bird Ballad collection. The background paper is also from the same collection. I love this set, and have prepared a lesson for my ladies using it.The time this year is flying by, and my thoughts have now turned to Christmas cards..can’t wait to start creating some cards using new releases..first will be Prima I think.. will keep you posted! Til next time…

Stampin Up Back on your Feet..

IMG_1400img_1399_1.jpgimg_1398.jpgI have had great fun this week colouring the stamped images from a stamp set by Stampin Up called back on Your Feet, and then fussy cutting  the images and turning them into cards. The cards on left were coloured with watercolours and the cards on the right were done with Copic colours. The papers were bits and pieces from lots of different companies. I have a box of 6″ pads and I just flipped through these to find what I wanted to use. The die cut shapes were foam mounted on to the card fronts to give a bit of dimension. As well as playing with this stamp set this week I have been preparing some lessons, ready for August when Helens classes will start! Til next time….

Stampin Up lovely Lattice..Watercolouring with re- inkers..

_MG_0104 (Medium)_MG_0107 (Medium)Today’s two cards focus on a stamp from Stampin Up called Lovely lattice. The top card has an embossed layer – the same Stampin up embossing folder as the card on the previous post ( Lace Dynamic Embossing folder) and I stamped the Lovely Lattice stamp on watercolour paper and coloured it with an aquabrush and re-inkers. For the lower card I stamped onto watercolour paper with versamark ink, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Again I coloured with an aquabrush and re-inkers, also painting a very light wash over the background. If you want to know more about watercolouring with re-inkers check out my little clip on my you-tube channel – the link is over there on the right hand side of the page! I have been a bit time poor over the last couple of years, but I am retiring at the end of this week so will have more time to focus on my blog, and you-tube channel – exciting times!! til tomorrow…

Stampin Up Blended Seasons Stamp Set…

_mg_0023 (medium)_mg_0026 (medium)My sister gave me a stamp set by Stampin Up before Christmas and I finally found the time to ink it up, with Archival ink stamped onto watercolour paper, and colour with my zig watercolour brushes in a few different colourways. Once I had experimented with colour all that was left to do was to turn my images into cards. I just used bits and pieces of odds and ends to make these three cards.  I have been missing for a few days because I am trying to get ahead in my lesson planning as I lose a little bit of time when I go on my cruise next month. So looking forward to meeting new ladies ( and some gents) in my cruise classes!A day off today, so all the craft gear is out and I am off to do some more crafting! Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up Christmas 2018..

IMG_8109 (Large)IMG_8112 (Large)IMG_8113 (Large)Todays Christmas cards use all Stampin Up supplies from their seasonal catalogue. I have used the chicken wire, washi tape, ribbon, and stamps ( stamp set is called Joy and Noel, and I coloured with Copic markers) and the corregated pieces behind are embossed with Stampin Ups new corregated embossing folder..this will be a favourite used all year round! It has been a busy week with work, and at home I have moved my craft room so that my second son can move back home for a short while, as he relocates from Sydney back to Adelaide for work. It was an eye opener to move that craft room and realise how much supplies I have gathered over the years. Time to start using all of it! Til tomorrow…..

Carta Bella Flora..

_MG_4612 (Medium)_MG_4614 (Medium) I had a couple of sheets of paper by Carta Bella from their Flora range, and I thought I would show you a couple of cards I made with it. The bottom card is made relying on the papers to do the talking, with a bit of fussy cutting involved in this one, and the top card I had a new stamp set from Stampin Up called Bird Banter, which I stamped ( I used a Tim Holtz stamp press to line up the branch) and coloured my bird with Zig markers and a water brush. I dabbed a little Nuvo crystal drops around the bird just to add a little texture. The dies I used were by Seven Paper Dolls, and I used Canson watercolour paper to stamp on. I have found when watercolouring the best paper to use is the most expensive you can afford, in the case of watercolouring, the better quality the better. The Canson I used is a  cold press paper, but the girls at work swear by hot press paper so I have bought a couple of sheets to experiment with and I will let you all know my findings! Meanwhile in the craft room I have organised all my fair boxes ready to go, completed an order, prepared my July classes , so up to date and doen’t it feel great! Til tomorrow…..

Welcome Baby..

_MG_4604 (Medium)Another Panda card today, and this one is for a newborn baby. The stamp set is party pandas by Stampin Up, and I have used a couple of Seven Paper Doll dies ( stitched rectangles and words) to complete this one. I added a pretty bow, flower and some sequins to bling this one up a bit!I have been busy at work this week so not so much crafting, but I have spent this morning stamping out some flowers onto watercolour paper so that I can practise with my new Zig clean colour markers this afternoon when I am over at Mum and Dads place. The Cruise line contacted me this morning asking if I would like to be their Art/craft instructor again this year so I am having a look at the cruise for this summer and working out which one(s) I can commit to. It’s all good fun! til tomorrow….

Another cute Panda card…

_MG_4607 (Medium) Hello! I am sorry I am not posting as often as usual, but I have been busy in the shop,we opened our Paper Flourish On Line store last week, and things have been hectic!I am finding minutes here and there to create, but not as much as I would like. In the meantime, todays card is made with Stampin Up Party pandas stamp set, which I stamped and fussy cut, and the background is inked with Distress oxide ink pads and a circle stencil. The rectangle cross stitched die is a Seven Paper Dolls Die. Til tomorrow…..

Cute Pandas!

_MG_4605 (Medium)These Pandas are so cute! they are from a stamp set by Stampin Up (party pandas),and I stamped them and fussy cut them out, doing a little colouring with copic pens. I prepared a background piece by using Distress oxide ink pads, and die cut the rectangle with a Seven Paper Dolls cross stitch die. Such a simple card to make and a favourite of mine…Til tomorrow….

Stampin Up Birthday Blooms..

_MG_4591 (Medium)Once again for some reason my computer has decided these cards look better on their sides! So please just imagine they are standing in a landscape format!! I have used the same stamp ( from Stampin Up Birthday Blooms) and I have stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Zig markers as I was experimenting with these wonderful new markers. With one colour you can get a graduation of colour by colouring directly where you want the colour darkest, and then I just pulled the colour around with an aqua brush ( a normal paintbrush and cup of water would also do the job). I scattered some drops of clear Nuvo around to look like water drops, and the dies are a nesting stitch die by seven paper dolls. Matching ribbon trim, a bit of patterned paper on the top card, and a bling flat backed pearl and these were super easy and what I would call clean and simple! Til tomorrow….._MG_4587 (Medium)
