So after I made yesterdays card, I looked around the craft room to see what else I had that could be adapted to Christmas cards, and found my spellbinders Lacey pennant dies. When turned upside down they looked like christmas trees to me, and this is what I came up with – I have a couple more which I will show over the next couple of days. The cardstock is Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler, and the embossing folder is a cuttlebug brand. I used my Tim Holtz embossing diffuser ( number 1) to keep the centre clear of embossing, and die cut the pennants from Stampin Up Be Of Good Cheer designer paper. The ribbon is also Stampin Up Wild Wasabi.I used a few dots of perfect pearls Rouge on the tree at the forefront.Til tomorrow….

Lovely as a tree christmas 2012
Here is a card I made using non christmas stamps that I had in my craft room. The cardstock is stampin up handsome hunter( sadly retired – such a good christmas colour, lucky I stocked up!) and Very vanilla, and the inks used are handsome hunter and certainly celery. I used my versamark pen and perfect pearls Forever Green on the tree at the forefront of the card to give it some sparkle. The little sentiment is from Stampin Up Petite Pairs stamp set. Nathan and I did a youtube video which is here, to show how I achieved the whole tree in front look. Much easier than explaining it in words! Til tomorrow….
Christmas cards for the troops 2012 video
Tonight I have something a little different. Nathan put together a short video of our marathon cardmaking day for the troops last Friday, and I thought i would share it with you all. As you can see we made a lot of cards, quite a bit of a mess and had a great time !
Final card ( for now) using non – xmas stash
This is the final card for now made using non christmas stash. The cardstock used is Stampin Up cherry cobbler, which I embossed with Stampin Up vintage wallpaper embossing folder, and then inked over the raised bits with choc chip ink. I stamped some music notes ( kaisercraft stamp) in choc chip, and matted that onto Stampin Up handsome hunter cardstock which I had punched with my e.k. success border edger – sorry, can’t remember the name of that one ,but someone might be able to help with that -and finally I die cut a flower using a Dienamics upsey daisies die. I stamped a greeting and cut it into a small tag and attached. these little greeting tags are a new fad of mine, and I have been creating them for a lot of my recent makes, so you will see them – a lot! Finally today I want to welcome all my recent subscribers – so glad to have you all, and always feel free to leave a comment , a question or even a request for something you might like to see. For now, I had better go and cook tea – the natives are getting restless! Til tomorrow….
xmas cards 2012 using non xmas paper number 2
Here is my second xmas card for the year using non – christmas paper. Here the paper is Stampin Up Love Notes, and I have made good use of my cuttlebug, using my spellbinders labels 17, and classic edges one. I also used my scalloped edge punch and the stamp is from Stampin Up – Welcome Christmas. The cardstock is Stampin Up old Olive.Tonight I intend to spend a little time in the craft room using some of this months kaisercraft release – Miss Match to finalise my fathers day cards. xmas cards made with non – xmas paper!
I know it’s really early for a christmas card, but today was our annual xmas cards for the troops marathon, and it all went like clockwork. We had lots of helpers for inserts, fussy cutting and bagging, and Nathan roamed around taking photos, so I am sure there will be some kind of video clip to show you soon! We made just over 300 cards, our best effort to date. Before I dug out my xmas boxes I made a few cards using non xmas paper, so I thought I would put them up here over the next day or two to show you all. Here I used scraps of blue and white patterned paper, white cardstock and my Stampin Up dasher stamp.I punched both the layers with a scallop edge bored punch, and I tied white seam binding around the base and tied it into a big generous floppy bow.We had to be careful what bling we put on the cards as they were being sent overseas so the cards had to stay relatively flat, but you could add rhinestones or pearls to this one.Til tomorrow….
Colouring with Helen clip
Today I have posted a video clip that Nathan helped me make yesterday, showing you all how I colour my stamped images. I have been asked quite often which methods I prefer, so thought I would show you all!I am still learning myself, but I am all about simple, and these are the methods that I have found easiest.I hope this helps, til tomorrow…..
Simple Stories – Awesome 2
An early post – as promised – and we are back to Male cards, made using Simple stories Awesome 12 x 12 papers. For this one I made a tag and stamped it with Stampin Up motorbike stamp, and tied it with stampin Up bakers twine. I fussy cut the flags in the left hand corner from more awesome paper, and just added a couple of Craftworkscards candi. I am off now to set up my stall for the craft fair.. I think I am organised …. Prima Botanicals with Butterfly 2
This card somehow got separated from it’s partner which I posted a few posts down… I used Prima Botanicals paper, and the butterflies were fussy cut from a sheet of Graphic 45 paper that was full of these gorgeous butterflies. I used a scrap piece of prima paper to cut randomly sized rectangles and distressed and inked the edges before mounting the butterflies on them. Today I have been playing with my punches, and have come up with some different cards using them, which I am sure will feature in a lesson or two soon! Til tomorrow….
Graphic 45 .. a proper gentleman..
Before we start, I would just say that I have used this paper before, but I had the opportunity to purchase more, and grabbed it – it is so difficult to get paper suitable for male cards, and I have always loved these car images. I bought 2 sheets so that I could 3d the images, although it doesn’t show in the photo, I fussy cut the car image on the second sheet and omitted parts of it, and put it on top of the first image with foam pads. The paper is of course Graphic 45 a proper gentleman, and I distressed all my edges. The cuttlebug folder is called clockworks, and I used stampin up cardstock and bakers twine. Now I must be off as I still have to shop tonight. Til tomorrow…..
