Welcome Baby

IHi all, this is the second time I have blogged tonight as just as I hit publish the whole computer system shut down so this time will be short and sweet. Here I have used white cardstock, Stampin Up designer paper – Elegant soiree, and I cut the pram using my Cricut. The ribbon is from my supply. Everyone out tonight, so I have cardmaking gear all over the dining table, and am having a ball! I’ve been trying some new things this week so hopefully will photos of that soon ! Til tomorrow….

Corner Bookmarks

Tonight I thought I would show you my corner bookmarks. I made similar ones for the Stampin Up regional – swaps -. It is just a strip of cardstock 6cm by 21 cm folded in half and then folded again as if you were going to make a paper plane( like when we were kids!) stick down the seam, you will probably have to run a bit of ribbon or such  to hide the join, then flip it over and cut 2 squares in contrasting card or paper, 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm and 7×7 cms and mount on the front . Now you will be able to trim the excess length and decorate the front with your favourite stamp. Remember to keep it flat for longer wear! Hope that is explained clearly, if not drop me an e-mail and I will try again maybe with pictures!Meanwhile, I’m still doing xmas cards – next year I’m going to be more organised and spread out the making of them throughout the year! Til tomorrow….

Merry xmas!

My favourite cardmaking technique is paper piecing. I love the idea of creating little scenes and works of art on the front of a card, so I had great fun making this card. I used Stampin up cardstock – Bashful Blue – and fussy cut the trees out of Kaisercraft ‘Be Merry paper. I stamped the background with a retired Stampin Up stamp, EK success reindeer punch, and finally had a good play with my new Cricut and some stampin up cardstock to make santa! Tonight I will make a couple of quick cards for my boxes, and then a little t.v. before an early night as I have to be up at 4.30 am for work at 6 tomorrow. Til tomorrow….

Paris

Hello! We’re back! Had a lovely time down at Robe, and the weather was beautiful, but I must say I missed doing my posts. Today I want to show you my first ever foray into ripping paper. I find it almost impossible to rip paper, I think its because when we were young we were in all kinds of trouble if we ripped the pages in our books. I used Naturals Ivory cardstock, and designer paper – Newsprint – both from Stampin Up. The postmark and lady stamp was Hot off the press, Vintage ladies, and the Eiffel tower was from Stampin Ups Artistic etchings stamp set.Inks were Stampin up sahara sand and Tim Holtz antique linen, walnut stain and worn lipstick. A prima flower and Old lace glimmer mist finished it off. Must go and unpack, Til tomorrow….

Each moment is a gift

Tonights card is a reminder to take some time out to enjoy ourselves, Lifes too short. I used K&Co Susan Winget patterned paper, Tim Coffey Blossomwood (K&Co) diecut cardstock and acetate, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Kindyglitz and kaisercraft pearls. The market was very quiet today, but my regulars visited me, and I sold alot of cards, so tonight I will make a start on repenishing my stock. I thought I had made enough xmas cards, but it appears not, so thats where I’ll start I think!Til tomorrow…

Village Xmas

This is my favourite xmas stamp. The card on the left uses Stampin Up Handsome Hunter cardstock, and Whisper white, with some Basic grey Jovial snowball fight patterned paper. The card on the right uses Taken with teal cardstock .Both these colours are retired  ( a shame – 2 of my favourite colours ,lucky I stocked up!). The stamp set is Stampin Up A wish for christmas, and the greeting is a kaisercraft stamp. I liberally spotted glue over the images and covered them in Martha Stewart glitter, which doesn’t really show up in the photo, but looks quite effective. The stamp pad on the cards corresponded with the coloured cardstock. Today I have been stamping images from my new stamp sets,Stampin Up Elements of style and Because I care, and I have coloured them in, and now will go and make up some cards with them. Til tomorrow….

Oxford Impressions Diver

I really enjoyed playing with these new stamps from Oxford Impressions. The set is called  The Deep and there are alot of stamps in the set all themed around the oceon. The patterned paper I used was Websters Pages 6″ pad – Seaside Retreat and I also used a variety of ink pads including Stampin Up close to cocoa (the diver) Riding hood red and old olive, and Tim Holtz distress inks spiced marmalade and scattered straw. The anchor and shells were heat embossed.Tonight I am teaching myself how to use my new brayer, but I still need a lot more practise. Til Tomorrow….

Christmas Bear

Tonight we are sticking with the whole xmas theme, and I thought I would show you my favourite christmas card so far this year. I used Stampin Up Bashful blue cardstock, and Stampin Up snowflake stamps for the background. I had this cute bear stamp in my collection, and just needed some white glitter card, cut twice to create the hill, and the trees were cut from Kaisercraft Be Merry patterned paper. As a bonus extra there is a video here of our goings on yesterday that my photographer has put together –

We had great fun! Til Tomorrow…

Marathon cardmaking Day

Today  was a good day for 2 reasons. Firstly I found my missing acrylic block – Yay !! and secondly we had a marathon cardmaking day  with the ladies from the Winzor Retirement village to make xmas cards for the troops. I have a few photos to show you the fun we had. Here is Kay and myself conferring over a design.

Here are our ladies hard at work, but notice Kay has disappeared and her desk is suspiciously tidy! Not sure where she went, but there was a boisterous game of pool going on in the room next door, so maybe she went to join the gentlemen !

Here is a shot of our volunteer cook waiting to serve us lunch (thank you Dad!)

My photographer left just after lunch, and took this photo of the cards we had completed up until then. Kay will have a photo of the whole lot completed on her blog at some stage, the final count was 116! not a bad effort for a little group of very keen cardmakers. Thank you ladies!Watch this space  as my photographer is preparing a link to somewhere ( I just nod and agree – I don’t know what he means)  so that you can see all the photos he took today. Til tomorrow….

Owl Anniversary

Todays card uses Stampin Up chocolate chip cardstock, retired Stampin up designer paper, and the new stampin up Owl punch. This is the first card I have made with the owl punch, and I haven’t had a chance to get back to it, but I will. I just love it.Christmas cards seem to be taking up a lot of my time just now, but I am nearly done, and just have to do my own ones, It will be too bad if I have to buy a pack!Todays lesson went really well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves which is the main aim and the whole idea! Tomorrow is our marathon all day cardmaking for the troops day, so I will be able to tell you how many cards we made on tomorrow nights post, and hopefully my photographer will pop in and take a couple of photos too. Til tomorrow….
