I know its only september, and we still have Fathers day this Sunday but I thought I would post a few xmas cards I made recently as there have been a lot of searches for ideas. This paper pack is a Docrafts papermania classic christmas pack, which i picked up at the beginning of the year after xmas at a great price. I have teamed the cards with some ribbon, and thats all they needed. A tip – where possible buy whole ranges as everything co -ordinates, and you don’t need to add much more in the way of embellishments! Til tomorrow…..
Another fathers day card
Hunt and Gather
As promised, todays card is a male card, I’ve made a Fathers day card, but it would be just as good as a birthday card. the paper and image is from kaisercraft Hunt and gather range, and I added some mesh ribbon, and a button from my late grans button box which I inherited. Great buttons in there! I am inspired to dig out this paper tonight and make some more male themed cards with it. that’s tonight sorted! Til tomorrow….
Victoria Gardens 6
This is the 6th card in my Echo park victoria gardens series. I also useed a free stamp that was on the front of a magazine, and silver embossed it, some ribbon, a flower and liquid pearls. tomorrow we will take a little break from Victoria gardens and see some more male orientated cards. I have finally made some headway in the xmas card making, so I’m glad about that! Til tomorrow….
Victoria Gardens 5
Today for a change of pace we are dipping back into Echo park Victoria gardens patterned paper. Today i combined it with Tim Holtz sizzix die ( a favourite at the moment) and a bit of ribbon, and a kaisercraft sparklet. these sparklets are perfect for adding to the centre of these big flowers. The congratulatios stamp is from a stampin up set called well scripted. I like these stamps too, as they can be the focus of the card rather than just a way to add a greeting. I am still working on my xmas card class as I have had many interruptions as well as an enjoyable day over at Kays, sitting around the table with some good friends and chatting , swapping ideas, and of course card making! Til tomorrow…..
Group of 5 baby boy cards
As I mentioned last night this is the last of Kaisercraft Lullaby 6″ pad that I will be showing. I have used 2 of these pads over the last few months and it is the best for baby cards! In this group I added a few bits and pieces die cut with my cuttlebug and a cuttlebug baby die, and some ribbon and buttons. I am now off to work on a class coming up with some new ideas for xmas . Til tomorrow…..
group of 3 baby girl….
I couldn’t change yesterdays blog quick enough! I have just been over to Kays blog( my sister – link on the right) and discovered that we had posted cards that were so similar it was spooky! We have been known to do something similar before. Before we both got into cardmaking quite often members of our family would end up with the same cards given by us, but bought at different stores ! I thought that would change once we were making our own cards, but obviously not! Todays group of cards are a farewell to Kaisercrafts Lullaby paper pad, I have now used two pads of this paper, and just secretly I have ordered another one as its so perfect for newborn baby cards, but anyway I am calling this the official goodbye to this paper as I probably won’t put up anymore cards with this paper on them (except for tomorrow when it will be the boys turn) I also used Stampin up cardstock – Pink Pirouette and assorted buttons and ribbon. Til tomorrow…..
Sailing ship card
Todays card is another good one for Fathers day. I used Stampin Up cardstock and designer paper, and the ship is a metal plaque I found for a few cents at the market. It looks really effective on this card, and I love the stampin up patterned paper! In a rush today, i have to pop over to paper flourish tonight for some supplies – I need another kaisercraft Lullaby paper pad . I’ve already used 2 of these papds but they are perfect for baby cards, and I have just received an order for 6 baby cards. Til tomorrow….
Motorbike stamp – Stampin Up
Tonights card has been in the queue for a couple of weeks now, but I thought I would show it tonight. I used my stampin up motorbike stamp, and some stampin up cardstock – early espresso and naturals ivory ( great for stamping on) . The patterned paper is Thrift Shop by October afternoon. Tonight I’m going to make a couple of girlie cards, and then the next few days will be taken up doing an order for 20 cards for a marriage celebrant. Til tomorrow….
Victoria Gardens 4
I couldn’t resist putting up another Echo Park Victoria Gardens card. The die used to cut the flower is a tim holtz sizzix die, my favourite for the moment! I also used a sticker from the same paper and a bit of ribbon and a paper flower. Today I am working on my next village lesson. Tomorrow we will return to some fathers day (Â good for male birthdays too), til tomorrow…..
