The other day Nathan brought me some old floppy discs and asked if I could recycle them. Why, yes.Yes I can. Inside the plastic cover ( which I prised open with a pair of scissors) was this floppy ( the floppy in the name floppy disc) which looked to me just like a miniature record, and so this card idea was born. The papers I used were Crate paper toy box, and I made the record player needle and arm from some silver and black cardstock. there is a silver brad in the middle of the “record” and I punched a silver circle for a volume button. The letter stickers are from the same paper collection. Hopefully Nathan finds more discs, because I really enjoyed making these cards! Til tomorrow…..
Sympathy card ideas
What a mixed bag of cards I have posted the last week or so! Today it’s sympathy cards.I always keep sympathy cards very simple, and these are no exception. I have used white card bases, and stamped my image on white card as well, coloured with copic markers and stuck on the card, and used border stickers around the outline.The stamp set is one I have had for a few years from Stampin Up called Eastern Influences.Today i have finally started my christmas cards, eased in slowly with some simple ones using dies,. Tomorrow Nathan and I will have a photo session and I will be able to start posting my most recent makes. til tomorrow….
younger boy birthday card…
I showed a card similar to this that I made for my great nephews 1st birthday, and while I had everything out I whipped up another one to put in my box. For this one I substituted the die cut balloon for big bold buttons and lots of bakers twine. The paper is Stampin up cherry on Top, I fussy cut the scallops down the side, and the Elephant is a stamp from stampin Up Zoo babies set. I taught a class this morning, lovely group of ladies, and while there I picked up a new Kaiser die ( well 3 but this one in particular) – it was the poinsetta die, so I can’t wait to start creating with it. Sometimes it just takes something new to get you into the Christmas spirit!! til tomorrow….
Golfing Tom.
A male card today, The stamp is called Golfing Tom and it is from C.C.Designs. I stamped onto copic blending card and coloured with my copic markers, then mounted on two shades of card from Stampin up. this one was a nice quick card, and the stamp is big enough to stamp onto patterned paper and fussy cut if you don’t want to colour..something I will try next time I have it out on the craft table! For now though, it’s off to work I go..til tomorrow…
Bo bunny Madeleleine 3 and a conversation about scissors
Bo Bunny madeleine collection, fussy cut bird detail and some strategically placed ribbon bows and lace!. I was asked an interesting question today by a blog visitor, and I thought I would take some time to answer and add some tips as well. I use Fiskars scissors when I am fussy cutting – not your normal fingers through the holes type scissors though, I use the squeeze type, mainly because I don’t get tennis elbow with these type of scissors. I was suffering badly from tennis elbow with the amount of fussy cutting I do when I used the normal style scissors. My scissors are not cheap, but I am only on my second pair in over ten years of fussy cutting, so value for money I think. Other scissor related facts – I have my one pair for fussy cutting, I have a pair of surgical scissors( very sharp) for ribbon, lace and material, and a pair of very cheap normal scissors for cutting anything sticky. other cutting tools… my fiskars trimmer which has been with me from the very beginning is in my take everywhere craft bag, and my stampin up trimmer and making Memeories rotary trimmer are on my desk in the craft room. The rotary trimmer is for cutting my cardstock as I make all my own card bases and I have had it for about 7 years now and never had to replace a blade, and the stampin up trimmer is for everything else. I like it because I can also score on it and it has handy measurements on it which almost makes my ruler redundant! hope this helps … til tomorrow….
Bo Bunny madeleine 2.
For this one I rounded all my corners, inked all my edges and fussy cut one fo the frames from a piece of the paper from the Bo Bunny Madeleleine collection as well as the bird cage and bird. I ran a piece of lace around the bottom of the card and tied a ribbon into a bow for the top of the cage. all good intentions to spend the evening in the card room while everyone is out tonight, but it is really cold through there so it might be an evening in front of the tv and heater! til tomorrow….

Todays card is made with Bo Bunny Madeleine paper. I love the soft colours of this paper, and here I have done a bit of fussy cutting and layering and added some lovely satin ribbon a pearls to finish. recently in the craft room I have been gathering my Christmas supplies to make a start on Christmas cards, but it must be too early even for me because I just keep procrastinating and I haven’t achieved anything. I will give it one last go this weekend and if there is no results i will leave it for another month! Til tomorrow….

Here are the last two cards made with graphic 45 A ladies Diary with a bit of baby to bride and le romantique mixed in there too I think. I have done these last two as double easel cards – my favourite card shape when using graphic 45 paper, and the best bit is they fold down flat to fit in a normal c6 envelope.some fussy cutting, chipboard pieces, lace and ribbon, and that’s most of this fabulous paper used!early morning starts again this week, so I am going now to have a bit of a nanna nap! til tomorrow….

Graphic 45 A ladies diary … this one is a sympathy card so I have kept it really simple, with just the image of the rose, and then used sticker borders around it. The cardstock is stampin up .This weekend I have made a start on Christmas cards. i always start with my christmas stamp sets, and then move on to last years left over papers, mainly because there are no paper collections around yet! The sneaky peeks I have seen are really not my style this year – not a vintage collection to be found, so at least this year my older papers will get used up.Til tomorrow…

2 more card I made with Graphic 45 A ladies Diary and I also used some Graphic 45 baby to bride on the bottom card for the matting.there is a stampin up vintage brad on the bottom card and a bit of fussy cutting. The top card has some lace and ribbon as well. The end of the working week for me, and I am so looking forward to 3 days off! Til tomorrow….
