Kaisercraft velvet crush,stamping and copics

IMG_0850 (Medium)IMG_0852 (Medium)I recently bought some copic colour markers and headed off to a beginners class to learn how to use them(!)and since then have been practising my colouring. Here are my first few attempts. The stamps are from my collection, the first is a magnolia stamp, and the last is a deep red stamp ( from a set of four…absolutely excellent stamp set) and I can’t remember the brand of the cupcake stamp.Anyway, I coloured, and then teamed the images with some bits and pieces I had left over from my Kaisercraft Velvet Crush collection and added assorted flowers and punched leaves to finish.Today I visited my hairdresser, who sells my cards in her salon, only to find she had sold every one of the wedding cards I had left with her. So tonight I will be in the craft room creating all things wedding…Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft velvet crush number 13

IMG_6312 (Medium)IMG_6313 (Medium)Today I thought I would show a card I made for our card club challenge. The challenge was to use a whole sheet of kaisercraft velvet crush patterned paper and a length of ribbon on one card. This was a huge challenge for me  as my goal is usually to get as much out of one sheet of paper as I can!My bow on the front has become a little loose – something I didnt notice when we took the photo, but ignoring that…on the front I used the ribbon, and a prima button and pearl swirl. I die cut an oval out of the front of the card and sandwiched a length of ribbon between the paper and cardstock, then fussy cut the frames and stuck them on the ribbon, after stamping my greetings. Inside, I also decorated the blank cardstock, and fussy cut the rest of the paper and stuck it on top, and Die cut a butterfly and added rhinestones. One sheet of paper successfully used! Til tomorrow….

Julie nutting prima Doll Stamp and Kiasercraft velvet crush.

IMG_4537 (Medium)I keep coming back to Kaisercraft Velvet Crush paper and collectables, but here I have teamed it up with my Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamp. I stamped the image on some websters pages paper that had the right colour for skin tone, and stamped it again on some velvet crush, and paper pieced it all together. That way all I had to colour was the hair. I am still learning the colouring technique, and here I used prismacolour pencils. These stamps are large so I made a bigger card – 21cm x 21 cm and then folded in half – that is  called a DL size, and the envelopes are readily available ( they are the same size as those rotten bills come in!)i have another one to show tomorrow.Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Velvet crush number 11

IMG_2074 (Medium)I found another Kaisercraft velvet Crush card that I hadn’t posted! The card ( on the left) makes use of the matching collectables in the range, and some kaisercraft and prima flowers and ribbon. ( the cardstock is stampin up pink pirouette and black) and when I had finished it I realised it wouldn’t fit into an envelope as the flowers were too bulky, so I made a box and decorated it to match. I like making these card boxes, so you may be seeing some more of them… may have to do a youtube video of how to make….I had a great morning over at Paper Flourish this morning, met up with some friends, had an enjoyable card club, and bought some new papers from Prima, Tim Holtz, and heartfelt creations and can’t wait to start making with them. Til tomorrow….

Prima doll stamp with velvet crush (10)

IMG_2077 (Medium)I promised myself I wasn’t going to get hooked on the prima doll stamps by Julie Nutting, but.. oh well whats a girl to do? Although I do colour, I much prefer to use these stamps with gorgeous patterned papers, so the only thing I coloured was the hair. the rest has been stamped onto patterned paper and paper pieced together. the paper I used on this one was Kaisercraft Velvet Crush, and for the skin tones i used an old sheet of websters Pages that I had filed away.most paper collections that are released have one sheet that would be suitable for skin tones, so this plan should work for me all the time!the butterflies are from the sticker sheet that was released with velvet crush, and I added a ribbon bow to finish. I taught a very busy class this morning and was grateful to a very dear friend for her help with a lady new to cardmaking, without her help I would have had a class that severely ran over time!I bought a big bag of goodies after class, and can’t wait to sit down tonight after tea and have a good look at what I picked up. Til tomorrow….

IMG_1070 (Medium)Here is the last for now of my Kaisercraft Velvet Crush series. I have really enjoyed working with this paper, the colours are great and so striking with black and white accents. For this one I have used the 6″ paper pad and the butterflies sticker sheet, and Stampin up cardstock, sentiment stamp and ribbon. Just a few kaisercraft rhinestones finished this one off.well, it was back to work today so no crafting for me tonight – just a quiet night in front of the tv is on the agenda! til tomorrow….

IMG_1067 (Medium)I have a few more cards to show that I made with Kaisercraft Velvet Crush paper collection. This collection sold out very quickly at my local papercraft store, and I beleive kaisercraft are out of stock at the moment too, it’s been so popular. The colours are gorgeous I have to say… These few cards that I made are Mothers day cards – I start them early because I sell so many Mothers day cards – it’s busier than christmas for me!for this one I used the 12 x 12 papers, and i fussy cut some butterflies out of some of the paper, and there is a butterfly from the collectables there too. The sentiment, cardstock and ribbon are from stampin Up, I used an ek success border punch, and Kaisercraft rhinestones to finish.you could of course change the sentiment to suit your celebration. I am going to spend a good few relaxing hours in the craft room after tea making some engagement and wedding cards. i have pulled out some old collections that are suited to these themes, and I am ready to go!
