More inspiration with borders dies….

_MG_0607 (Medium)Todays card is made with a gatefold design, and then I die cut the edges of the folds with a border die to give the gated effect! A very light decoration on the outside, just some bling and a couple of ribbon bows and flowers, because all the decoration really happened inside the card. The papers are Kaisercraft Rose Avenue from the 12 x 12 paper selection. Today is my get together with some crafty friends, we meet once a month and the time always comes around quickly, so I must get a move along and gather some projects together to work on while we are chatting! Til tomorrow….

October afternoon Christmas gatefold

img_9344-mediumimg_9348-mediumAlways a challenge photographing gatefold cards, hopefully you all get the gist of these ones!Gatefold shapes are fast becoming my favourite as it’s so easy to decorate inside as well, just a piece of matching paper and a greeting .The paper here is the same as last post – October afternoon Make it berry. A release from a few years ago, and I just used some shiny red ribbon and some rhinestones for texture.tomorrow will be the last card with this collection, then onto something new! Still have a lesson to plan out today in the craft room, then I will be back to more Christmas cards! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Christmas Wishes 8 and 9..

img_9328-mediumimg_9329-mediumFor the next few days we will be looking at Kaisercraft Chjristmas Wishes Paper and collectables.Although it is quite a modern colour scheme of lilacs and aqua, I have managed to make a couple of more traditional cards with this range, as shown on the second card. For most of this range I made gatefold cards as they eleiminate the age old question of what about an insert?, as I just line the inside panel with patterned paper and use one of the greetings from the range inside. The papers on these two cards were from the 6″ pad, and I used some collectables from the matching pack. I just added some trim some cost effective cards! A rainy day here , all my shopping etc done and now I am off to the craft room and some relaxation! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft silver bells 23,24,25..the last….

IMG_2970 (Medium)IMG_2971 (Medium)IMG_2972 (Medium)Here as promised are the last of my kaisercraft silver bells series. The bottom two cards are gatefold cards, with both side edges folded into the middle of the card. The inside of these cards are decorated with some patterned paper and a space for a greeting. I have moved on from christmas cards in the craft room, and have been using some papers that I bought, but hadn’t played with yet, but my back is still not co-operating when it comes to sitting, so I have been up and down a fair bit, moving around which does seem to help, but gets very tiring! the hot water bottle and deep heat haven’t helped so I had to give in and get some pain killers from the chemist – something I hate doing, but I am determined to enjoy my holidays! til tomorrow…../

Kaisercraft silver bells 11,12,13, gatefold.

IMG_2864 (Medium)IMG_2867 (Medium)IMG_2868 (Medium)Kaisercraft silver bells, and these ones are a gatefold design – just using an a5 piece of cardstock ( 21 cm x 15 cms) fold the outer edges into the middle, easy to do and a really nice change from the standard fold of card. I have made good use of the 12 x 12 sheet of kaisercraft silver bells card front images, and fussy cut some baubles from another piece of 12 x 12 paper to decorate the other side of the card front. Inside is also decorated with paper. Ribbon and bow  to finish off the bauble. These cards are based on a class I taught earlier this month.Day off today, and I am going to get my eyes tested, and maybe a little retail therapy as well! til tomorrow….
