There is a story behind today’s card…When my son Daniel was home at Christmas he mentioned that a friend in his office wished she could have come home with him so that she could spend some time in my craft room and learn how to make cards, so before Daniel went back to Sydney I made up a bit of a kit for her and this card was the prototype of the kit I sent for her to put together. She has since made it and sent me a photo of her proudly holding it! In two weeks today I will be sailing the blue seas, but when I get back I will send her some more kits. Anyway, I should mention that this paper collection is Kaisercraft Oh so lovely ( an old collection but beautiful)and the associated collectables. For now I am off to prepare tea, til tomorrow….

Wedding Card…
Todays card is a wedding card which is a little different for me because I relied less on the papers( I just used a little Kaisercraft Romantique..the label for the sentiment and the gold embossed strip across the centre of the card) and I made my own background paper. I used Nuvo Gold glitter paste and brushed it through a kaisercraft stencil. This is so easy to do, and dries really quickly..so quickly that I suggest you wash your stencil straight away! I added some delicate ribbon and some gorgeous flowers from Iamroses. I brushed them with a little of the gold glitter paste. The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp which I gold embossed. I have finally finished preparing my lessons for April, and today I hope to sit in the craft room and make some birthday cards I need for family and friends upcoming birthdays. It is finally cooler here ..not sure for how long but i am going to enjoy it while I can! Til tomorrow….
Making my own background papers!
Todays card is a little different for me because I was experimenting with adding more to my background papers. I have used the Kaisercraft Romantique range, and taken quite a plain piece of the 12 x 12 paper from the range, used a kaisercraft stencil and brushed through the stencil with Liquitex iridescent medium. In real life this gives the paper a lovely sheen and I was quite impressed! I went on to decorate my card with some collectables from the same range and some trim and ribbon. The butterfly is on acetate which I fussy cut from a 12 x 12 sheet of them also from the kaisercraft Romantique range. Thats itfor today…I am off to the craft room to continue on planning my April lessons! til tomorrow….
Stampin Up Waterfront stamp set…
Staying with my new Stampin Up purchases I made this card for my dads birthday at the end of this month with Stampin Up Waterfront stamp set. there are endless possibilities with this stamp set, I just have to find the time to sit down and discover them all! For this card though, I did the background with Distress oxide ink pads, ( love the chalky finish) and then stamped with these Stampin Up inks…Tranquil tide, lost lagoon, always artichome and summer starfruit. I used my stamp press to position the stamps exactly where I wanted them to stamp ( how did we mange without one?) I have been busy this morning catching up on chores around the house so that I can spend a little time in the craft room preparing April classes, so that i am a little ahead when i head off on my cruise at the end of this month. Not long now! til tomorrow….
Bright balloons with Stampin Up…
Todays card uses some bazzill cardstock for layering, and a range of Stampin Up goodies that I recently purchased recently. The Die is Stampin Up Happy Birthday thinlits die and the balloons are stamped with Stampin Up Happy Birthday Gorgeous set. I punched them out with a balloon punch by Stampin Up. I put this card quickly together when I was playing around with colour combinations. I am teaching this afternoon at paper Flourish,so I am off to gather all my equipment together and spend an enjoyable afternoon creating ! Til tomorrow…..
Rainbow card
This card came about when I was experimenting with my new Distress oxide ink pads. I made this background just by sponging a few of the colours on my cardstock, and not one to waste a pretty background I grabbed some dies that I had on my desk and hadn’t used yet. These dies are available from Uniquely Creative.. Today is a welcome change in weather…much cooler today and we all had a decent sleep for the first time in a couple of weeks so feeling much better! Also having a change from cold meats and salads for tea so looking forward to that as well! All is good! Til tomorrow….
Two quick baby cards….

As i was searching through papers for another reason altogether I came across a couple of random baby papers, so sat down and made a couple of quick baby cards. I am not sure of the brand of paper for the top card, which I just cut into strips and layered and added a die cut sentiment, cut out of glitter cardstock. The bottom card is Kaisercraft papers, again layered with a fussy cut rabbit and ribbon and pacifier ( I obtained the pacifier from my nieces baby shower…she was using them in one of the games we played and I collected them all afterwards..I see handy bits and pieces everywhere!). It is another hot (42 C) day here today, but I am off to Paper Flourish for my craft and chat group monthly get together. We will have a lovely afternoon crafting and chatting surrounded by lots of lovely inspiration! Til tomorrow….
My Minds Eye In Bloom double zig zag…

Today we are back to cards, and these are the final two cards I have made using My Minds Eye In Bloom papers. I made my favourite double zig zag cards and relied solely on the papers with just a couple of ribbon bows and some glitter. I die cut the sentiment with Kaisercraft all occasions die.Today is a public holiday here and i have kept the day free to be able to spend some relaxing time in the craft room. All week we have been opening many boxes of new stock at Paper Flourish and I couldn’t resist…I have quite a few new things to create with ..so without further ado I am off to the craft room!! My Minds Eye In Bloom cards….

I am sorry I have been missing all week, but it has been horrendously hot here this week, and all any of us can do is find the coolest spot and just stay there! They tell us we have had a cool change, but it is 35C today, and that is still hot in my book!Anyway enough of that and on to today’s cards…These ones are made with papers from the My Minds Eye In Bloom collection, 12 x 12 papers, and /or the 6′ paper pad from the same collection. The papers are so gorgeous the cards really didn’t need any more embellishments. I loved this collection so much I actually framed one of the 12 x 12 pieces and hung it in my hallway! Heat or not today i amd definitely going into the craft room for some craft time!Til tomorrow…..
What I did yesterday….

I had a couple of new products to try out and a free afternoon yesterday so I sat down and just played! Up in the top corner of the first photo there is a jar of Nuvo Glitter paste ( gold) which I brushed through a kaisercraft stencil to make a great background piece which is now sitting on my desk ready to be transformed into a card. I used a paintbrush to spread the paste and it dried super quickly with no heat required. The second experiment was with Liquitex iridescent medium. Firstly I tried applying it through a stencil with my brayer, which worked to a degree but it was a little patchy ( I used that first piece on the card that is in the top photo. I discarded the brayer for a paintbrush and liked that way better.. I had more control over how thickly I applied it, and got a more even spread. I used a heat tool to dry, but could have left it to dry naturally if I had more patience! The bottom two photos show how I used those backgrounds. I am looking forward to more experiments with both these products on my next free afternoon! Til tomorrow…..
