Card box card..

img_3545-mediumToday will be my last post for about a week, as I am off to visit my son in Sydney! It is also the last card I made using Kaisercraft True Romance paper collection. I have a you-tube clip ( see link on right hand side of blog) to show you the measurements for my box card, and I have just used the papers, inking around the edges of all the panels with tea dye distress ink, and added a bow. All the other pieces were fussy cut fromthe papers. I spent a little time in the craft room this morning, hoping to prepare my classes for december, but the shoulder is still not the best even with yesterdays cortosone injection, so I have had to give up, and will sit and rest it for a while with a good book! Til next week…

Another Pleating technique

img_3536-mediumAfter mastering the previous pleating technique, I stepped it up and tried aone that was a little more difficult. Lots of measuring on this one, but well worth the effort for the finished product.I am just hoping as I sit here that i have filed away the measurements! As the paper I used was so close to the background layer I inked the edges of the pleats to define it a little bit.The flowers I added were from Kaisercraft and i added a punched leaf and a ribbon bow to finish. The paper collection is Kaisercraft True Romance, and older release ,but one of my favourites.I have a really sore shoulder today, and not much use of my right arm, so I think the craft room is out of the question this weekend, looks like a reading weekend for relaxation! Til tomorrow…

Kaisercraft True Romance pleating fun..

img_3535-mediumI wanted to explore a little bit with pleating techniques, and Kaisercraft true Romance papers were perfect for this technique as the front and backs of the papers are so pretty!I started with a card base made with Stampin Up cardstock, layered two pieces of paper on top of that. A sticker from the same collection covered the join after i had added my pleated piece of paper. A bit of measuring was involved here, but now that i have worked out the measurements any more card I make like this will be easier. Use a piece of copy paper while you are experimenting to save your lovely papers!.A bow and tag finished todays card. Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft True Romance

IMG_9327 (Medium)This is the last Kaisercraft True romance for a little while, next in the queue are some Christmas cards made with some new release papers. This card still relies heavily on layers, and inking each piece with tea Dye ink. There is some fussy cutting as well as a collectable from the range. The sentiment was die cut with Kaisercraft occasions Dies on glitter cardstock..(Also from Kaisercraft).Kaisercrafts glitter cardstock from this year doesn’t shed its glitter..which is fantastic!I purposely trimmed the paper background so that the flowers were in opposite corners. Til tomorrow…

An aperture card..

IMG_9314 (Medium)IMG_9316 (Medium)For one of my lessons at paper flourish a little while ago I showed my ladies how to make these quick and easy rectangle aperture cards. The trick is to cut the paper to size, place on the card without gluing down and run the whole card front and paper through the die cutting machine at the same time, that way everything lines up perfectly when you come to stick it all down. I find it is easier to hold die , paper and card in place with a little repositional tape when running through the machine. For my card today i went one step further and slipped some acetate in between the paper and card before sticking everything down. I found this lovely printed Kaisercraft acetate while looking for my plain acetate and thought “perfect”! The second photo is the inside of the card. Some lovely stampin up lace, a collectable and tag , scalloped border from the paper pad…oh…This paper is Kaisercraft true Romance and another old favourite..you can see I am trying to work my way through all my papers…i am off to make another one of these because I really like the way it has turnedout, and may want to keep this one! Til tomorrow…

Mum and dads 60th wedding anniversary card

IMG_4098 (Medium)Today I am showing you the card I have made for Mum and dads 60th wedding anniversary which is next week. I used Kaisercraft true Romance papers, and fussy cut a lot of the flowers and just stuck them on with double sided tape. The 60 you can glimpse amongst the flowers and foilage  was die cut with the Kaisercraft numbers dies with glitter card. There are tabs cut into the card to give it its curved shape, but you can fold it flat for the envelope.I went around all my edges with spun sugar distress ink. I must be off now, I have to find a suitable verse to put inside! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft True Romance number 12

IMG_5836 (Medium)This is the final Kaisercraft True Romance( I think) and tomorrow we will move on to something else… Here I have used a piece of paper from the 6″ paper pad on my base, and fussy cut a couple of pieces from some of the 12 x 12 papers. I used some of the matching collectables, and a ribbon bow and sentiment stamp to finish. A very busy class this morning, and back to work to face the christmas rush shoppers tomorrow.. til tomorrow…
