Kaisercraft secret garden, paper collection and matching collectables. Here I layered some of the doily collectables on top of one another with foam pads, and just went to town with ribbon, lace and flowers, and punched leaves. The pretty lace on the bottom card was a brilliant find in a second hand shop in a country town outside of Adelaide . I visited there with my sister last time I was on holidays’ and found lots of interesting buttons and lace! Today is so much cooler here, it’s lovely, so I am enjoying some relaxing time in the craft room. Til tomorrow….

revisiting Kaisercraft secret garden..

True to my new years resolution I pulled out some old paper the other day, first up is Kaisercraft secret garden. I loved this paper collection when it came out so I have a lot of it , and I still love it, so it didn’t make the lose it pile – I made a few cards which I will show over the next couple days and the rest has gone back into the shelves. The interesting thibng about this exercise is that since buying the paper I have new dies, stamps etc, so the cards I am making now with the old paper look nothing like the cards I made originally! The top card has some butterflies that I stamped onto patterned paper and fussy cut out, the bottom card has a die cut butterfly ( a memory box die), and I added a doily and sequins to that one. Super hot day here, I jumped into a cold shower as soon as I got home – feel so overheated.salads again for tea, this feels like a long summer this year – looking forward to a pot of soup as soon as we get some cold weather. Til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft a Touch of Gold special age cards
I have started to make age cards as I often get asked for them and it would be good to have a few pre -made, so you may see a few of them until I build up my stocks, of course if you are casing you don’t have to add the numbers. I have a terrific number die ( Kaisercraft) which I have been using on all my age cards, and I like to die cut the numbers out of glitter or foil card. The paper on today’s cards is from Kaisercraft called A Touch of Gold, and the die cut I used for the banner is by Kaisercraft as well. I added some gold sequins, and Stampin up gold twine. I did go into the craft room yesterday and spent a few hours preparing my February lessons, so just have a village lesson to sort out and I am up to date for a couple of weeks! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft A touch of Gold..
Special cards for today, as it’s new years eve ( happy new year everyone!). These are card in a box cards, they fold down flat for ease of posting and I have adjusted the measurements so that they fit into a standard envelope. I will have to organise nathan to film another clip for these ones, anyway, The paper is kaisercraft A touch of Gold, and I die cut the balloons from gold foil card and glitter card ( the die is a kaisercraft one). I added some punched bunting, a few sequins and happy birthday stickers. I have been missing for a few days because our little dog Patches passed away, and it has been a very sad time.He had a wonderful long life, he was nearly 17, but I so miss my little shadow. I haven’t yet been able to go into the craft room as he used to lie under my desk at my feet whenever I was in there, but will make an effort tomorrow so that I can plan out some lessons. My new years resolution this year to to use up some of the paper collections I have and I have already made a start on that and you will see results over the coming weeks. For now, til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft fiesta 5, the last for now…
This is the last Kaisercraft Fiesta card I made, and I have enjoyed showing these bright and beautiful colours! I will revisit this paper again as I still have some left. this one used the 6″ paper pad, collectables and the labels were from a piece of the 12 x 12 paper ( the only piece of that size I bought).I just had to add a ribbon bow and a sprinkle of sequins to finish.I went back to work yesterday after quite a few weeks off with my knee, and I have to say it was tough. I came home and had to ice my knee and put heat on my back, but today I am much better – have come home with no aches and pains so I am truly grateful for that! I would like to thank all my blog friends for your best wishes and concern. One more day then 5 days off! yay! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft Fiesta 3 and 4

Two cards today, I am back to work tomorrow after 8 weeks off, and I may be a little too tired to post tomorrow! These are made with kaisercraft fiesta 6″ pad and collectables, with the addition of buttons, flowers, sequins and gold twine.Love these bright cards. A much cooler day today here in Adelaide, so I have a roast beef and vegetables in the oven – a welcome change from the salads we have eaten all week. And just enjoying the cooler weather! til tomorrow….
Kaisercraft fiesta 2..
Kiasercraft fiesta 6″pad and matching collectables. For this one I layers a few of the label die cuts from the back of the pad and a couple of the collectables, added some gold twine, sequins and flowers and punched a butterfly to finish. This hot weather is draining all of us here, not much we can do but sit around and conserve our energy, thankfully there is a cool change coming on Sunday! til tomorrow…..
Kaisercraft Fiesta number 1…
I have a few paper collections that I haven’t had a chance to do anything with due to the Christmas makes, and this is one of them – kaisercraft Fiesta. It’s a good collection to showcase just now because the colours remind me of the extre4me heat we are experiencing at the moment. For this card I have used papers from the 6″ pad,and a few of those scrappy bits you get left with at the end of a crafty session. There’s a die cut leafy branch ( can’t remember what that one is but I like it so might have to go and find it to use again!), some flowers, punched butterfly, sequins and gold twine.I was up early this morning preparing salads for tea so that I am not in the kitchen later today, and now I will go sit under the air conditioner duct and try to stay cool! til tomorrow….
Inlaid Die cutting explained..
On today’s card I have done a technique called Inlaid Die cutting. First I die cut the anchor ( Kaisercraft die) from the white cardstock, collecting all the little bits that we normally throw away, and die cut it again from blue cardstock. I ran the white cardstock piece through the big shot/cuttlebug using a kaisercraft anchors embossing folder. The last step is to inlay the blue anchor into the white embossed cardstock, and then pop in all those little bits of off cuts – if you look carefully you can see which pieces they are as they don’t have the embossed detail on them. That is the fiddliest part of this technique. To finish the card I wrapped some bakers twine around it and mounted on navy blue card. Too hot here today to do anything but read! Til tomorrow…
Kaisercraft sail away.. more embedded embossing…9 and 10…

More cards with kaisercraft sail away collection. the top card is a very simple card made with a piece of the 12 x 12 paper – card fronts with a little bit of fussy cutting detail, and the bottom card is another example of embedded embossing – I fussy cut some images from a sheet of 12 x 12 paper, stuck them on to a white card with a glue stick and ran it through the big shot in a stampin up embossing folder. To finish I die cut a ships wheel ( kaisercraft die) added a circle from the 6″ pad, already printed with the greeting, and added a bow made from bakers twine.Til tomorrow….
