The simplest card!

_MG_0105 (Medium)Here is the simplest card I have made in quite some time! White cardstock, a Stampin Up 3D embossing folder ( so gorgeous) a length of ribbon, lace , 3 little flowers and some pearl bling. This card would be perfect for a wedding card that had to be posted, but I think I will give it to my mum for Mothers day. Sorry for the late post this weekend, but I got completely sidetracked cleaning out my crafting supplies – it was time for a spring clean and I haven’tĀ  even scratched the surface yet. I have a little bubble of an idea forming for making card kits, but will have to pop it on the back burner until after the June fair. I will keep you all posted! Til next time….

My Minds Eye In Bloom.

_MG_4266 (Medium) A natural progression from yesterdays card where I had used My Minds Eye In Bloom patterned paper as the background layer is today’s card which uses all My Minds Eye In Bloom paper. I die cut a gold foil heart, and added black lace and gold ribbon. Everything else is from the paper collection. Yesterday was very productive day in the craft room. I planned out my march classes, and started to experiment with some irridescent medium and stencils to make my own background layers that have a bit of a sheen. This is a work in progress but will share when i have something to show you! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue 8…

_MG_0656 (Medium) We are back to Kaisercraft Rose Avenue, and on todays card I have used a piece of 12 x 12 paper, and trimmed it with lace. The arched window is a kaisercraft wooden piece which I foiled with the go press and foil machine. A couple of die cut leaves and some flowers and a sentiment from the 6″ pad to finish this simple card! A day off today, so I am going to do some creating while it is still relatively cool…it’s going to be 36 C today so by lunch time it will be a bit too hot to do anything but sit under the air conditioner! Til tomorrow…..

Nuvo Glimmer Paste!!

_MG_0604 (Medium) A couple of weeks ago we got some new Nuvo Glimmer Paste into the shop, and I couldn’t resist having a bit of a play with it!I used the clear glimmer paste and brushed it through a stencil to create the glittery background on this card. I love Glimmer paste! It is really shiny and glittery, and dries really quickly. I used the gold glimmer paste to paint the chipboard bird, and the background paper on this card is Kaisercraft Rose Avenue. I added flowers, ribbon and lace to finish. I thought I had finished my cruise cards this week but they asked for another class so I have been working on that and today I am off to the craft room to make a couple of birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue number 6..

_MG_0615 (Medium)Todays card was actually one we did in one of my classes. The paper is a piece of the 12 x 12 patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Rose Avenue collection, and I just added a strip of lace down the side. I inked around all my edges with tea dye ink, and that was a nice quick card. I have finished work for the week, but I am really busy in the craft room.. I am teaching a fourth class in January so I am working on that, and the cruise I am teaching on in February want another class, making the grand total of classes on the cruise to 6, and with 2 different cards in each class and prep for a maximum of 36 people in each class. That has been a lot of die cutting etc we have prepared!Anyway, I will at least come up with the design for the last class this weekend and then gather all the supplies later! Til tomorrow…..

Portrait of a Lady number 1..

_MG_7040 (Medium) For todays card I used the new collection from Graphic 45 called Portrait of a Lady. I have only made a few cards so far with this series, but I haven’t put it away, it is waiting for me by my desk because I will get back to it once all my class cards are done, and next weeks fair is over for another year! This one has lots of layers of patterned paper, and some fussy cut roses ( from another of the 12 x 12 sheets), and little bottles also fussy cut. Along the bottom I stuck some frilled lace that I found in my stash, some kaisercraft beading and a ribbon bow. I used some kindyglitz on the roses for a bit of shimmer. Today I have brought home some gorgeous Bo Bunny papers for an upcoming class, but of course I had to buy some for myself, so I have plenty to keep me busy in the craft room! til tomorrow….

The Last Cherry Tree Lane card ( 15)

IMG_7085 (Medium) I can’t promise this card ( made with kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane 6″paper pad) won’t be the last, but it is for quite a while! The image in the centre is from the 12 x 12 cut apart sheet from the same collection, and I trimmed the sides with lace, and cut a banner shape to frame it. A light pink ribbon bow to finish. Yesterday i bought some new Kaisercraft High Tea papers, so beautiful, and I can’t wait to start making with it but first this week I have to make some wedding cards to fill my box, The June long weekend craft fair is not far away, and I have to start preparing for it! Til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 9…

img_2735-mediumMost of the previous cards made with this collection ( Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane) were made with the blue tones of paper, now we have a few made with the green tones. The cardstock is Stampin Up, as is the pleated ribbon, and the background paper is from the 6″ pad. The focus is on a card from the pull apart sheet, and I added a prima and green tara flower and some punched leaves.Oh, and some lace! I am officially on holidays, and have spent today stewing pears, we have an abundance of them so the freezer will be quite full. Pear crumble all winter! Til tomorrow…..

Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane number 1…

img_2722-mediumToday we are starting a new collection of cards made with Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane paper collection. I love this collection, and the class I am teaching this week usesĀ  this paper too! This card has papers from the 6″ pad, and matching collectables on it. I have added some flowers, ribbon and lace ( I picked this lace up in an op shop in a country town close to Adelaide)Just a quick post today as I must go and organise tea, til tomorrow….

Kaisercraft Silent night, side steppers

img_3511-mediumimg_3512-mediumThe other Kaisercraft Christmas collection I purchased was this one – Silent Night. It is the traditional colours of red and Green, and some lovely vintage images. The first two cards I made are these two side stepper cards. I have done a youtube clip for the measurements of my side stepper cards, because I like them to fit into a C6 envelope. You can find the link to my youtube channel on the right hand side of my blog, or just search Helens Card designs in youtube to find it!The Christmas trees on the cards are from the collectables pack from the same range, but before I stuck them onto the card I traced around them onto scrap cardstock and cut them out to use as templates because I really like the size and shape of them So one of the green trees is a collectable and one is cut from patterned paper using my new template!Lace , ribbon and bling for the finishing touches.Til tomorrow…..
